Story
Jethro is a spirited 7-month-old Heeler/German Shepherd mix who’s looking for his forever home. He’s an incredibly sweet, energetic, and intelligent pup who is eager to learn and explore the world around him. Despite his tough start in life, having been abandoned by his previous owner, Jethro is full of love and ready to trust again.Jethro’s playful nature and curious personality make him a great companion for someone who enjoys outdoor adventures, daily walks, or even some fun fetch sessions. He’s still in his “puppy phase,” so he’s working on his manners and loves any opportunity to bond with his humans. He’s quick to learn, so with a little patience and training, he’ll thrive in a structured environment. This brave little guy is good with other dogs and enjoys the company of new friends. While he may take a little time to warm up to new people due to his past, once he trusts you, Jethro is the loyal and loving companion you’ve been looking for.If you`re looking for a smart, energetic, and affectionate dog to add to your family, Jethro could be the one! He just needs someone who will show him the love and care he deserves after a rough start. Could that be you?Did you know YHS lets local community members FOSTER TO ADOPT?? Story
We adopted Rommie in 2018 from the Yakima Humane Society. He had scars on his face and was anxious. He soon took to us and became so sweet and loyal. We love him. 😭 We have two children now and he and my active toddler do not get along. My son will try to pet him gently and Rommie growls and shows his teeth. He loves older children (like 10+) and adults, but little children are too much for him and make him nervous. Rommie is a sweet, loyal, and active dog. He loves to cuddle and follow around people he trusts. He is still very active for his age, preferring walks almost every day, otherwise he gets a bit restless. He does have a bit of anxiety so little children, big dogs, and loud noises scare him. It really pains us to give him up. We think he would do best in a home with no other pets. (small dogs maybe) and no children unless they are teenagers. He is also used to being babied 😅 and only a semi- outside dog. Inside most of the time.
