Story
Meet Copper! Copper is a very sweet, active and playful guy! He is about 12-18 months old, and at his last vet visit weighed in at 51 pounds. We think Copper probably has some Australian Shepherd, along with several other breeds including possibly Belgian Shepherd. Greyhound or Carolina dog. Copper is a beautiful and happy boy. He’s lucky to be alive! Copper came to us from the shelter at a time when he was minutes from losing his life because he had an upper respiratory infection. We are so glad he is with us now, and we will find his perfect forever home for him! Copper does well in a crate, he also does well on a leash. Copper would love to be a hiking or running buddy! His foster mom said he is doing well at learning house training. Copper loves to play with his doggy friends especially tug-of-war with the big rope toys and will do wonderful at a daycare or dog park with other active and playful dogs! Interested in becoming a forever home for Copper? Fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we don't go any further without an application. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Copper the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Story
Garnett is a firecracker with the sweetest and most loyal heart! She would be the happiest being the only pup, because she just wants all the love and cuddles. She is potty and crate trained. Garnett is going to need some support behavioral training. She is a bit timid of strangers but comes around quickly. She does well with our submissive male but not with our dominant female. Like most pups she gets overly excited to see us and wants to be in our lap and will leap to get their we typically don’t mind it but I know some people might.  Garnett had a rough start in this life, never having home a home and surviving during an Oklahoma freeze with three of her puppies. When she first came to us she was completely wild. It was obvious she had never had a dog toy or even consistent food. She was in constant survival mode but over time she began to trust us and now is a well loved chunck! I would love for someone to adopt our girl and give her the time and love she deserves! She’s had it rough and needs her forever family!! ##1109191##

Story
Maddie is a 1.5 year old female pit and suspected Catahoula mix. She has a heart of gold, adores her people and is defined by her full body wiggles and “happy chomps” when she greets you. While she loves to play or lounge outside in the backyard, she also equally loves being a glorified couch potato and is an excellent snuggle bug.  She loves stuffed toys and bones alike! Maddie is still growing in confidence with new people after she was found as a stray, but her trust skyrocketing with each passing week. Give her a little patience and kindness and you are guaranteed to have a new best friend.  She will undoubtedly be an excellent companion for the right family, be it house or adventure dog! Maddie enjoys being around other adult dogs and her foster cat sibling (unknown how she does around puppies or young children yet). She is potty and kennel trained and is sleeping soundly overnight in her kennel, although it’s clear she would prefer cuddling up to her person. She is not food aggressive and is very polite about taking treats and snacks. She knows sit and is doing excellent with recall off leash, and is polishing up on other aspects of obedience her foster home currently. ##2137288##

Ruger is a 2 year old heeler mix. He is small but sturdy. He came to 405 through a rural vet where he was surrendered due to a near fatal skin infection. He underwent surgery and intense wound treatment to make a full recovery. He is sweet, spunky and a great cuddle bug. He is cautious with new people and needs some patience and reassurance at first but has done great with all ages. He is house trained and is great with cats and dogs! He sleeps peacefully in his crate all night but would love to get to snuggle up next to a trusted person! ##2158706##

Jesse is such a sweet boy. If you're looking for a calm, relaxed companion who follows you everywhere, Jesse is the dog for you! He wants nothing more than to lay at your feet and just be your companion. He does well in a harness, but can pull a little. He doesn't jump up on you. Knows sit and lay down and we're working on stay. Good with cats and kids. Jesse was attacked by some dogs in his own yard. He was surrendered and has had a long journey of healing. His back leg does not work as well as we were hoping, but it doesn’t slow him down. He was treated for heartworms, and has made a complete recovery. Jesse needs a home with a calm dog and loving family.

These pups were born in April. Their current living situation doesn't allow them room to run and play. Have to be walked on a leash. They are housebroken with supervision. They LOVED kids, and other dogs and are even good with the kitties (but I am sure are annoying little pups from the cat's point of view.) They have been neutered and have gotten their rabies vaccination. This is a courtesy post so please email us for a quick questionnaire to see if one of these pups (or both) would be a good fit for your family. twolegs4paws@yahoo.com Their DNA results were 27% mix of heeler, border collie and australian shepherd and 28% mix of bulldog, boxer, american staffordshire terrier, pitbull. They have a dozen other breeds in their too, like boston terrier and dachshund!

Story
Meet Tiberius Riker, Ty for short. He is 4 years old and 55 lbs and looking for his forever family. Ty was originally with our rescue as a puppy and was adopted. Sometime later his adopter moved across the country with Ty (he went by a different name then) and sadly ended up with a new person in the home who was abusive and cruel to Ty for years. Thankfully his adopter reached out to return him to us and he has been in an incredible foster home, getting the time, patience, and love he needed to heal and recover. He's come leaps and bounds and is ready for the next big step in his journey. Ty is a goofy, silly, sweet, and chill guy. He LOVES going on his walk in the morning. Ty actually needs a morning walk to relieve himself. He will go in the backyard but isn’t very keen on it. He walks beautifully on a leash/harness. As a side note, a harness is required for Ty. Part of his abuse was being yanked and pulled by his neck using a lead. He’s fully crate trained and house trained. Ty isn’t the kind of dog who will play with toys or chase other dogs. He much prefers to lay next to you on the couch and watch Law and Order and Chopped. He really likes Chopped! If the couch is full, he’ll just plop down under your feet. He wants to be close to his person. He barks when he gets excited for his walk or when he wants a snack (he loves carrots and apples the best). Otherwise, he’s super quiet. He loves getting belly rubs. He tolerates being brushed. He hates having his toenails trimmed. Ty came to us experiencing TERRIBLE allergies (with awful symptoms) and it took a bit to determine he has a chicken and fish allergy. He eats a specialty food now (Zignature Kangaroo) and gets Cytopoint allergy shots and is now itch and symptom free! The ideal person/family for Ty would be someone who works from home or is home often during the day. He was kept in a crate for 10-12 hours per day in his previous life and we don’t want him to go back to that way of living. His adopter needs to be able to financially afford his specialty food and his allergy shots. Those are non-negotiable. His adopter needs to commit to taking Ty on a walk every morning. Ideally, he would go to a home with another dog to keep him company but he would be just fine as an only dog. Because of Ty’s abuse, he can’t go to a home with small children. If there are children in the home, he would need children over the age of 10, who can respect his boundaries. Tiberius deserves the absolute best home where he can be spoiled, loved and treated with gentleness and kindness. For the rest of his life. If you feel that you can give Ty the home life he deserves, you can send inquiries to our director of adoptions at muttmisfitsadoptions@gmail.com or apply to meet / adopt at www.muttmisfits.org/adoption-application
