Story
Meet Jack Frost! He is 2 1/2 years old and has spent most of the last year in a boarding or rescue facility. He was actually transported to a rescue in Iowa and spent a few months there but they didn't have any interest. So we felt it was best to bring him back here and give him another chance here. He is great with other dogs, is jumpy and playful, not leash trained but willing to please. Skittish when approached but just needs to learn that people want to love him and give him a great life. He would benefit from structure and training. He is also better once separated from his brothers. Since they have been together their whole lives, they rely on each other and truly deserve one on one time and to be part of a family. He would be a great farm dog, as he was at a home for a short time and nipped at the ankles of the therapy horses, so he knows what he is supposed to do, but he just couldn't do it to those horses, since they are for therapy. Who can give Jack Frost a chance to know true love and be part of a family?!

Story
Meet Annie! Annie is a 2-year-old spayed Australian Cattle Dog with a heart full of love and a story of incredible bravery. This gentle girl is as sweet as they come and would love nothing more than to curl up on the couch by your side—she’s a certified couch potato and the perfect companion for a cozy, laid-back lifestyle. In September 2024, Annie was found with her four tiny puppies—just three weeks old—living under a collapsed barn. The property owner, unaware they were there, was preparing to burn the rubble when Annie bravely emerged from her hiding spot. Though timid and cautious, she mustered all her courage to approach him and led him back to where her puppies were nestled. Without her heroic action, she and her babies might never have been found in time. Annie had been fighting with all her strength to keep her puppies fed and safe, but it took a great toll on her. She was severely underweight—just skin and bones—but her love for her babies kept her going. Thankfully, a foster stepped in to give Annie and her four boys the security they desperately needed, allowing her to regain her health and focus on caring for her pups. Her hard work paid off—all four of her puppies have been adopted into loving homes. Now, it’s Annie’s turn to find her forever family. She’s house and crate trained, very low-maintenance, and happiest when snuggled up with her favorite person. While she is shy and shows signs of past abuse, Annie is incredibly food-motivated (especially with treats like steak!) and opens up with patience and kindness. She can be anxious in new situations, especially around cars, but once she feels safe, her sweet and lazy personality shines. Annie would thrive in a calm, stable home with someone who is a homebody or an older individual or couple. She doesn’t need much—just a safe, loving space where she can relax and feel secure. After everything she’s been through, Annie is ready for her second chance at happiness. Could you be the one to give this couch potato the love she deserves?

Story
Gypsy is part of the group we are helping house after the Choctaw rescue fire at FurEverFriends. Gypsy is a loving, playful girl that loves attention and friends. She loves to play chase and give nose boops and kisses. She does great on leash and is very well kennel and potty trained. She is very quiet and loves her people. She is the typical heeler and does get an attitude sometimes if she doesn’t want to take a bath or meds but she does eventually give in. She is a very good girl.

Story
Socks is another one of our visitors we are housing from the Choctaw rescue fire at FurEverFriends. She is a smaller girl who absolutely love to play rough with her friends. We are guessing on the breed mix due to her size and her personality. She is a little shy but has a strong attitude towards other dogs. She is super playful but when she is done she is done and will walk away to be left alone. She loves to just lounge and sun in the yard. She isn’t very noisy at all and does well in her kennel. She does very well on leash.

Story
Meet Ellie, a brave and loving dog who’s ready to find her forever home. Rescued on November 16th from a heartbreaking situation, Ellie spent most of her days locked in a cage. In her desperation to escape, she lost her front teeth. Despite her past, Ellie’s resilience and sweet nature are shining through as she heals. She’s doing well on a diet of half-soft food and half-kibble, and she seems to thrive with this balance. Ellie is recovering beautifully from fleas and infections and is up to date on her vaccinations. Her heartworm and fecal tests are negative, and her spay appointment is set for December 10th. She does best in a home without larger or dominant dogs, as she has a tendency to try to herd them, which can lead to tension. While she enjoys walks and is curious about other dogs, she’d thrive as the only dog or with calm, non-dominant companions. Currently, Ellie stays in a heated garage for safety, but she longs to be inside with her people. Her back and tail are healing won

Story
Ruger is a 2 year old heeler mix. He is small but sturdy. He came to 405 through a rural vet where he was surrendered due to a near fatal skin infection. He underwent surgery and intense wound treatment to make a full recovery. He is sweet, spunky and a great cuddle bug. He is cautious with new people and needs some patience and reassurance at first but has done great with all ages. He is house trained and is great with cats and dogs! He sleeps peacefully in his crate all night but would love to get to snuggle up next to a trusted person! ##2158706##
