Story
Hailey is a beautiful and very sweet 2-3 year old 36 lbs Heeler Australian cattle dog. We rescued Hailey after she showed up at a vet tech's house down south and refused to leave. Those who have met her say, "She is the sweetest thing on the planet!"  From her beautiful honey colored spots to her highly intelligent and loving nature, Hailey will bring fun, happiness and love to her family. She seems fine around other dogs but loves her humans most of all! This sweet girl wants to be included in your activities and will be devoted to her people.  Hailey is spayed, up to date on vaccines and microchipped. We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard - not electric or Fido fences as they are not as safe at containing dogs or keeping other animals or people out. For these reasons we do not adopt to homes with electric or Fido fencing. The adoption is $500, which includes age appropriate vaccines, microchip, monthly flea, tick and heart worm preventatives at time of adoption.

Story
DIAMOND IN THE RUFF: Sparky is a young, friendly, and playful canine who's bursting with energy. Despite his deafness, Sparky doesn't let anything slow him down. His intelligence shines through in his quick learning and problem-solving skills. Sparky's lively spirit and loving nature make him the perfect companion for anyone seeking a loyal friend. His deafness doesn't hinder his zest for life, but rather enhances his other senses, making him a truly unique and special dog. Eager to learn, Sparky needs a family that is also willing to learn, so they can become able to communicate with him without the use of sound. SPARKY'S NEEDS: * Needs an adopter willing to learn training techniques for deaf dogs * Can be both active and calm * House-trained * Needs regular mental and physical enrichment

Story
Birdie is an amazing dog who deserves a loving, stable home. She is very low-key, sweet, affectionate, cuddly, and happy! She loves to be around all people and gets along with dogs and cats. She loves going on walks but is equally happy snuggling on the couch. She walks well on a leash. Birdie does amazing at the vet, even getting her vaccines and bloodwork drawn. Unfortunately, Birdie has a sad story for how she made her way up north. She was born in Alabama, and we don't know much about her first few years besides that she did live with a family. She was given up by her original family to the Humane Society in Alabama early this year and adopted into a new, loving home. Unfortunately, her second family experienced housing instability, so she again lost her home and has since been in different foster homes. She has endured a lot of change as well as the 15 hour drive from Alabama to Connecticut. She's currently in a foster home in New Haven and would love to meet you!
