Story
Location: Naples, NY Meet Butler aka Butters!! He is a 44 pound, 1.5 year old male ACD mix. He came into foster care shut down and very fearful of humans. With patience, potty training, exposure and a lot of love,Butler has made wonderful progress and is really feeling a part of his foster family. Butler loves other dogs and plays very well with them without getting too rough. In fact, he looks to other dogs to learn what is safe in regards to humans. He also is coexisting peacefully with all the cats in the home. Butler is working on his leash skills and will need more training. He pulls at first but then settles down and is more at home walking in the woods than on village streets. He does come back to you on leash every few minutes, to touch your hand and look up at you as if saying, How am I doing? He is lean and athletic and looks so handsome when he prances around! Butler can be avoidant of strangers he meets while walking and will pull away. However, if they have a dog he will go right up to them. He has been working on being exposed to a variety of new situations. He rides in the car well as long as his foster sister jumps in first! Butler has grown to be a super affectionate boy. He loves to cuddle on the couch and ask for belly rubs. At night, he would sleep in your arms if you let him. He is very affectionate with his foster siblings also, licking them and asking to play by bouncing up and down, He has medium energy and his off button is located on the top of his forehead haha. 3 rubs on that spot and he is in a trance of pleasure! Butler is food motivated and has learned his name, the commands sit, stay, come and sit pretty.  Butler is crate trained and although he doesn't prefer it, he will go into his crate quietly with a good stuffed bone to occupy him. Butler is a wonderful dog but the caveat for adopters is that it will take him an extended period of time to integrate into his new home. An ideal home will be one that is committed to helping him continue his healing journey from the abuse he has suffered. It will take some time for him to adjust to his new family to become the dog we know he is in foster. Another friendly dog in the home that he can bond with and look to would be ideal and probably necessary. He thrives on routine and can learn the rules of the household through his companion dog. He will need to live in a rural or suburban environment with no young children in the home. Butler is fully vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He is being fostered in Naples NY. If you would like to learn and discuss more about Butler, please email willowbend14@gmail.com Complete an Application: https://www.acdra.org/adoption-application November 20, 2024, 2:16 pm

Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, November 23rd, 2024 at Woodbridge High School (1 Samuel Lupo Pl, Woodbridge, NJ 07095) from 11am - 3pm. Meet Dallas! Dallas is a 4 month old, 15lb Heeler Mix who loves kisses and cuddles and being close to his people. His superpowers include being a fast learner and super smart. He already is great at sitting, giving paw, and rolling over on command. He is such a sweet gentle loving puppy. Very calm when walking and doesn't bark or go crazy when he passes other dogs. He is super playful and affectionate. Dallas loves to go on walks and pees and poops outside. He loves to please and he loves to be rewarded for a good job! He is most defiantly good with other dogs and children. And he doesn't even seem to mind a parrot in the current fosters home. Some of his favorite things are playing catch or playing with any kind of dog toy he can find. If you're looking for the biggest lover who will greet you with full body kisses every time you walk in the door and loves spooning and snuggling at night and at naptime, he might be your perfect match. The adoption fee for this animal is $500. Dallas is currently being fostered in Staten Island, NY. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Hi friends, I’m Tootsie Roll, a 10-week-old Heeler pup who’s as sweet as my name suggests! At just 10 pounds, I’m small but full of love and puppy charm. I’ve got an adorable face, a wagging tail, and so much enthusiasm for life—it’s impossible not to smile when I’m around. I’m ready to wiggle my way into your heart and home! Like any puppy, I love to play, explore, and discover all the exciting things this big world has to offer. I’m just at the beginning of my journey and can’t wait to grow up in a loving forever home. Let’s start our adventure together—I can’t wait to meet you! Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Hi there, I’m Moonpie, a 10-week-old Heeler pup with a big heart packed into my tiny 9-pound body! They tell me I’m as sweet as my name, and I think they’re right. I’m just a baby, so everything is new and exciting to me. I’m always curious and ready to explore, but I also love cuddling up when the day winds down. I’m looking for a family who will guide me as I grow, teach me all the things a good pup should know, and share in all my puppy antics and milestones. If you’re ready for a little sweetness in your life, I think I might be the perfect slice of happiness you’ve been waiting for!
