Story
Meet Kugel, a medium-sized heart-stealer who’s waiting for his person to find him. At first glance, shelter life hasn’t been kind to Kugel—he can look a little rough around the edges and sometimes barks or growls from his kennel—but please know this comes from fear, not aggression. Kugel is a sensitive boy who struggles to self-soothe in the loud, stressful shelter environment and feels like he has to stay on the defense. The moment he’s out of his cage, though, it’s like a switch flips and his true personality shines through. He is incredibly sweet, gentle, and affectionate, happily heading out for walks and soaking up attention. Kugel loves being a lap dog, adores playing fetch, and has a calm, quiet nature that makes him a wonderful companion for homes of any size. He’s pretty housebroken, walks beautifully on leash, enjoys the company of other dogs, and would do well with older, dog-savvy kids. Recently, Kugel went on a sleepover with a foster, and the reviews were absolutely glowing—he bonded with her quickly, slept happily in her lap, and showed off his playful side without ever being too much. He proved just how loving and easy he can be once he feels safe. Kugel came to the shelter with his dad, Matzo, who is still available and looking for a home, and his sister Challah, who has already been adopted and is thriving, with wonderful updates from her family. Please help Kugel find the cozy, loving home he deserves. Come meet him and fall in love today.

Story
Matzo is the affectionate dad of Challah and Kugel. He’s truly a lovebug. He’s a big hugger who happily gives kisses and leans in for affection whenever he can. Matzo is sweet, quiet, and learning to walk nicely on leash, bonding quickly with the people who show him kindness. He would do best with older, dog-savvy kids and a family ready to return all the love he so freely gives. Compact in size but huge in heart, Matzo is ready to be someone’s loyal companion.

Meet Ruby — The Little Gem Who Stole Everyone’s Heart! 6 months • Blue Heeler • 25 lbs • Spayed • Up-to-Date on vaccines & preventions If sunshine had a heartbeat… it would be Ruby. This tiny speckled sweetheart was found wandering more than 10 miles deep in the Louisiana woods — skinny, exhausted, and completely alone. Ruby is now a healthy, happy 6-month-old pup weighing about 25 pounds, and her personality is absolute gold. Her favorite place in the world? Right next to a human. She lives for affection, loves being spoiled, and wants nothing more than to be close to her people. She’s gentle, loving, and endlessly sweet — the kind of dog who bonds deeply and wholeheartedly. Why Everyone Falls in Love With Ruby    •    Sweet as sugar with the softest, most loving soul    •    Absolutely adores people and attention    •    Wonderful with children    •    Gets along beautifully with other dogs    •    Cat tested — she politely tucks her tail and runs the other way (zero interest)    •    Friendly, social, and eager to please    •    Doing AMAZING with leash training    •    Crate trained (or very close!) and learning routines quickly Ruby has the goofiest little happy dance, the gentlest nature, and a face that melts hearts instantly.
