Story
Chauncey 2 years old Neutered male Australian Cattle Dog 30 lbs Chauncey is unfortunately still on the hunt for a home of his own. We thought we had some solid leads but they haven’t worked out. His story didn’t start out great - his owner died and the family dumped him on the streets of rural KY. He then found himself at a shelter, posted 2 weeks in a row, but sadly no adopter or rescue stepped up. Understandably he became stressed in that environment and when we inquired about him, we found out he would be euthanized the next day. Some very dedicated people worked hard to get him here and he’s settled in well. In typical Heeler fashion he is very loyal to his foster mom and needs an adopter who will give him some patience while adjusting to a new person of his own - but once he chooses you, you’ll have a best friend for life! - Dog friendly, cats unknown - Crate trained - Appears to be potty trained - Walks great on leash, fenced yard not required - Super smart and obedient boy! - No young kids, please If you’re interested in adopting Chauncey please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt Long distance adoptions considered - must travel to us in the Buffalo, NY area for a meet and greet. *Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. Story
Garth 1 year old Neutered male Australian Cattle Dog mix 30-35 lbs Garth was adopted about a month ago and unfortunately returned today. His adopters were so sweet and kind and tried so hard to make things work, but unfortunately we learned that their living situation just wasn’t going to be right for him. He came out of a puppy mill around 10 months old, so he will take time to warm up to things. We have decided he will do best in a home with direct access to a fenced yard, and preferably another confident dog who can show him the ropes. - Dog friendly - Previously did well with cats - Crate trained, may be vocal while adjusting - Previously potty trained if kept on a good routine - Will walk on leash well once he’s comfortable - NEEDS a fully fenced yard for potty breaks - Would likely prefer a home without stairs If you’re interested in adopting Garth please complete an application at www.rosebudrescue.com/adopt Long distance adoptions considered at the adopters expense. *Please keep in mind that it is time consuming for our volunteers to process applications. We ask that you are sure you are ready to welcome a dog into your home and are seriously interested in adopting BEFORE applying.*

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi there! I’m Seabiscuit—but my friends call me Biscuit I’m a pretty shepherd mix (or so I’ve been told—I don’t want to brag, but have you seen my coloring?). I’m still just a puppy, which means I’ve got lots of playful energy and a big love for toys. Balls? Yes please. Rope toys? Absolutely. Stuffed animals? My favorites! I’m working really hard on learning the important “grown-up dog” stuff like house training and crate training, and I’m already making great progress. I’m also practicing “sit”—especially when treats are involved (I love treats… a lot). I’m a social gal who loves my people and gets along great with other dogs. Right now, I live with two kids and two doggy friends, and I think everyone is pretty awesome. New friends? I’m always ready to meet them! What I really want is a forever family to call my own—someone to play with, learn with, and grow up with. Could that be you? Story
Meet Jack, a sweet and sensitive 4-year-old dog looking for a very special forever home. He was adopted from a shelter and was believed to be a stray, and he still struggles with severe separation anxiety. Jack needs an experienced adopter who can help him work through his behavioral challenges and provide the steady routine he depends on. He would do best with someone who is home most of the day—such as a retired person, someone who works from home, or a patient family with children. Jack loves exercise and would thrive with a fenced-in yard, as he can be a flight risk when nervous. He has recently begun having accidents in the home, which we believe are caused by anxiety and a schedule change. It truly breaks our hearts to rehome him, but we know he deserves the consistent care and attention we can no longer provide. We hope to find the person who will be his true forever home.
