Story
Get ready to fall in love with Buffalo, the 2 year old fetch champion who brings endless joy to every room he enters! Buffalo is crate trained, loves riding in the car, and is a certified professional cuddler. He has never met another person or dog that he does not love. Buffalo is 50 lbs and would thrive in a home with a yard, or with a family that has another dog to play with. He would make a great walking, running, or hiking companion. Buffalo received his namesake after he was found swimming in Buffalo Bayou on a hot day. He was abandoned at the bayou’s dog park in Houston, TX - a prime dumping ground for dogs. Despite these challenges, he is optimistic and can't wait to move on to his next adventure. Will you be his new best friend? We can drive this pup to your area! If you're interested in this cutie and you're in driving distance to Toronto, Grimsby ON, Niagara, Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, Brattleboro, Secaucus, or Hartford, please send us an inquiry here and we'll give you a call and video chat with the pup! Here's the link: www.friendsfurliferescue.org/adoption-application Please copy/paste the above link into your browser ^ Our transport can take this pup to any of the above locations. (YES we also adopt to Canada! Please note adoption fee is US dollars.) There is NO transport fee. All is included in the adoption fee :) Thank you! We're looking forward to your inquiry!

My mama was one of two young dogs abandoned at an intersection. They were being fed by a nearby resident; eventually she realized we were both pregnant. The resident's friend posted on Facebook and another nearby resident saw the plea and took action. SPOT agreed to help when a foster offer came through! This PUPPY is currently located in Wharton County, Texas, but can be transported to New York via a licensed, reputable transport company. The transport fee is included in the adoption fee.

Story
I was a stray living in Wharton County and had a litter of 6 puppies. We were all living on the street, scrounging for food and living in a culvert and barn. SPOT was alerted to our situation but no one volunteered to help and then we disappeared. Several weeks later, SPOT Board member Melanie Cochrum spotted us and went to work rescuing us! Wharton ACO Jurasek was able to help catchpole the momma dog Cat; Melanie found the last puppy hiding in the neighbor's barn and was able to capture him.

Story
UCC would like to welcome Blue Blossom! Blue is full of love for life! She has the cutest little nub tailed rump that never stops wiggling and waggling!! We had received a request to help with a mom and her puppies from a volunteer and rescue advocate from Enuice Louisiana. Unfortunately we are not in a position to accept puppies (not to worry they were accepted by another rescue to find homes of their own.) But we could help Blue so we did!!!! Blue has been a wonderful guest so far. She is 2/3 years old and a compact 45lbs, she is a solid girl but does fit perfectly in ones lap, she tested that out! Blue is a pretty playful, she loves to run and zoom! She will take her toys and throw and toss them about, its hilarious to watch and fills me with joy to see her happy and having a good time. Blue also loves the kiddy pools here, after she has a good run around she heads over for a splash and a lay down soaking. Blue knows basic commands, and then some. She is a super good listener and has solid recall and strikes me as a dog with some working experience. She walks well on leash, is crate trained and housebroken. Blue does well with other dogs but has not been cat tested at this time. We recommend a home with gentle, respectful, but durable children 8 and up. Blue is a mixed breed large animal herding dog. My guess based on look and personality is she may be an Australian Stumpy Tail Cattle Dog mix. People considering herding breeds, should be able to provide an active lifestyle as they have the drive to learn, be active and to do a job for you! That being said Blue would make a lovely running, hiking and swimming companion. She has a gentle, go anywhere do anything personality and would love to be part of an adventurous house hold. She is very affectionate and loves to snuggle up during down time. Blue Blossom is heartworm negative, on prevention and fully vaccinated. Being she has given birth and weened recently, her body still needs to recover before spaying her is safe, but she does have a surgery date scheduled. If you are interested in opening your heart and home this little wiggle bottom your in for a rump shaking good time! UCC offers discounted access to after adoption services for our adopted alumni such as: Dog boarding, Day Care, Free access to our Private Dog Park, Low Cost Veterinary Wellness Vaccine Clinic and more!!
