DEXTER Male - Red Heeler - Born December 2023 Currently 29 lb *Deaf Meet Dexter! This charming boy is ready to find his forever home. Dexter loves to play, take walks and ride in the car! He is a quick learner and very close to being fully potty-trained. Dexter does well in a crate and sleeps through the night. Dexter is feline friendly and would do best in a home without small children due to normal heeler instincts. Dexter will be up to date on age appropriate vaccines and neutered prior to finalizing adoption. If you are interested in Dexter, please email adoptions.protectingpaws@gmail.com Adoption Fee: $500

Story
My name is Jess and I currently live with my foster family that has two resident dogs and a teenager. I am currently 40lbs, spayed and am told that I am the perfect size dog for anyone. I am a little timid when meeting people for the first time, but warm up quickly. I am potty trained, and use my crate when my people are not home. I am great at snuggling and love my people. I am an energetic girl, which enjoys balls, chew toys, water buffalo horns, and other toys. My foster mom said I would do well with an active person or family. I go on multiple walks a day and am well behaved on leash as well as playing in my yard. I know how to sit when asked with a treat and am very soft in the mouth when I take treats. I travel well in the car as long as it is in the back seat. I am very quiet and settle down quickly. I tend not to bark a lot, but will alert you when someone is at the door. Are you my person or family? --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $500To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Hi, my name is Jojo, will you be my best friend? I certainly want to be yours and will make sure you feel loved and paid attention to all the time. I am the perfect size ( a little under 30 pounds) for cuddles but I also love running around outside and going on walks. I walk well on a leash but prefer to walk when there aren’t many other dogs around. I have to be the only pet in the house as I want all your attention and I am most comfortable with adults. I would be happiest in a quieter household with a regular routine. Besides being your bestie I love bones and food puzzles. I do my best to listen to commands like sit and lay down and am ready to learn more. I truly aim to please always. I am fully potty trained and crate trained. I am used to sleeping in my crate and eating in there too. I have been through a lot so I can be nervous at times but your affection and care will be all I need to become your life long companion.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spay/neuter before adoption unless age is a factor with a puppy younger than 6-12 months at the time of adoption. If that is the case, the spay/neuter will be covered in the adoption fee and the owner will be responsible to have the procedure completed at a Warrior Dog Rescue Veterinarian at the appropriate time. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Story
Hi, my name is Raiden and I just arrived from Alabama. I am a very sweet boy who loves to cuddle. I will even sleep in your lap if you let me! I was a surrender but come from a loving home so I have good manners and know basic commands. I am housebroken and crate trained although I could definitely be talked into sleeping in your bed. I have a medium to high energy level but I settle down quickly and love to chill with my humans.I love all dogs and people and just want to be everybody’s friend. I have a 65 pound foster brother and we have become friends almost immediately. I haven’t met any cats, so I don’t know if I like them yet. I am not sure about this Minnesota January weather, but my foster dad puts on my coat which helps.I will make a great family pet and am looking for a loving forever family. Could that be you?--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sky is a 5 year old toy Aussie (possibly Aussiedoodle--although she does shed) who is a recent breeder release from a puppy mill.  She is taking in this whole new world and would love a patient and understanding home to help her thrive. The great stuff: She is incredibly sweet and smart. She is picking up housebreaking super fast and I expect her to be fully housebroken easily in her new home. She loves to be around people and would adore to have her new family home a lot (Retired? Work from Home? Have a lot of love to pour into a new friend who loves attention? Want a fun little dog to train and see huge gains? Sky is your girl!). She is small (about 15 lbs) and dainty and obviously adorable. Probably not a good fit for little kids, because she is still pretty scared and shy, but she seems to like everyone. She thinks running around in the fenced yard outside is very exciting and it is probably her favorite new thing, prancing around happily, just wait until she learns that it gets warmer and will be even better soon! She is good with other dogs (would do great with a little dog friend) and ignores my cat. She likes to be cozy and wear sweaters and explore new places. She sleeps in a crate at night and is totally quiet when you are in the same room.   The things to work on: Sky has never learned all the normal dog things and spent the last 5 years in a small cage so will need someone to teach her what good dog life is all about. She does not know how to do stairs or cars or jump on the couch. She is a bit nervous of new spaces and sounds. She is not used to being pet or picked up so shies away from hands, but loves to be pet and snuggle once she is settled next to you. She will need to learn basic obedience and things like how to walk on a leash. The hardest part so far as her foster: Sky has decided she likes this new life and does not want to be left alone ever again, so she barks when she can't see anyone, especially me. She has very quickly decided I should never leave her side and follows me around the house and cries when I go to work. If you are okay with this little bit of separation anxiety that I expect to improve over time (maybe no shared walls or long stretches of alone time for her), this girl is a diamond in the rough. Read about rehabbing and training mill dogs, and if you are up for the challenge, reach out--I think she will be an amazing dog with lots of love and a little training.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination.
