Story
This 1.5-year-old cattle dog mix is a bundle of love! At 55 pounds, Jenkins is happy cuddling on the couch with his head in your lap or entertaining himself with toys. He is a low-maintenance, easygoing pup ready to bring joy to his forever family.Jenkins is fully house-trained and makes a great roommate! He knows the difference between dog toys and people things—so no chewing on your shoes with this guy. He can be trusted to be home alone and is very polite around food, though he might sniff around to check out what’s cooking. He’s also crate-trained and sleeps peacefully in his crate at night or whenever he needs a break. While Jenkins barks occasionally as a part-time watchdog, he’s easily calmed and makes a fantastic home office coworker, quietly napping through virtual meetings. He previously lived in a townhouse without issue, making him a good fit for various living situations.Jenkins will easily adjust to new friends if given a little help! At his foster home, Jenkins has greatly benefited from his confident canine sibling who can help him feel secure and teach him the ropes. He loves to chase, wrestle, and play tug with other dogs, but is still learning to share his toys and space. While Jenkins hasn’t had extensive experience with children, he’s greeted kids at the bus stop with polite curiosity. A meet-and-greet would help determine compatibility with potential human siblings. Cats, however, are a definite no-go for Jenkins. Living with a cat causes him significant anxiety, so a cat-free home is a must for his happiness and well-being. Jenkins thrives on a mix of activity and relaxation. A morning walk, some toy time, and play sessions with a doggy sibling are enough to keep him happy. If he’s an only dog, two short walks a day or some yard time would suit him perfectly. He’s not prone to zoomies but has bursts of playful energy that are fun to watch. Jenkins loves toys—especially ones he can chew or tug—and enjoys chasing balls or being chased while carrying one. His adorable habit of pouncing on toys will keep you smiling, and his independent playtime shows his ability to entertain himself when needed.Jenkins came from a loving family who helped him become the confident, affectionate dog he is today. He’s trusting, sweet-natured, and eager to bond with his new family. Could Jenkins be your perfect match? If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and adaptable dog who will adore you endlessly, Jenkins might just be the one! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Story
Hello! My name is Honeycomb, but you can call me Honey for short. I’m a sweet girl with a heart full of love and a super adorable "happy stump" of a tail that wags like crazy whenever I see someone I like (it's a bit stubby, but trust me, it’s still mighty!). Right now, I’m on activity restrictions while I recover from heartworm treatment, so I'm taking it easy and enjoying the slower pace. But don’t worry—I’m a smart girl who knows how to keep myself busy. I love working on my puzzle toys and chewing on my favorite chew toys.I'm a pretty social pup, and I get along well with the other dogs I’ve met. Occasionally I might resource-guard but that's pretty rare for me around chill dogs. I’m especially fond of a male resident dog here who's around my age—we get along like peas in a pod.I’m housetrained, so you don’t have to worry about accidents in the house. Plus, when my foster dad has to leave the house or when it’s time for me to sleep overnight, I’m super happy in my cozy kennel. I like to think of it as my little safe space.I may be in recovery right now, but that doesn’t stop me from showing how much love and joy I have to share. I’m a smart cookie with big, intelligent eyes that say a lot, and I can’t wait to find my forever home where I can give all my love to you.***FOSTER TO ADOPT***Honeycomb is Heartworm positive and not yet spayed. She has completed her Heartworm treatment and is now just waiting for a negative test result. Once her spay is complete, her adoption can be finalized. Once finalized, it is the responsibility of the adoptive family to get a Heartworm test every 2 months to follow up on her treatment progress until she has a negative result which can take 2-9 months. During these months, you will need to make sure her heart rate is not elevated due to high-energy play or exercise. Honeycomb will also need continued use of monthly Heartworm prevention going forward. If you are interested in adopting Honeycomb, please fill out an adoption application. --------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Please note that the majority of our dogs in rescue are from shelters where they have been found as strays or abandoned. Their breed description is based on our very best educated guess based on physical characteristics and their dispositions. If they came to our rescue as an owner surrender, the breed description will be listed as provided by the previous owner.Adoption Fee - $400To apply for this pup, please submit an Adoption Application at http://warriordogrescue.com/adopt/adoption-application/

Story
Mellie is a ball-chasing superstar with incredible speed that will amaze you! This lovely girl is wonderfully independent, staying calm and well-behaved even when left alone for long periods. She's a pro at road trips, loves camping, and has even mastered canoeing-talk about an adventure buddy! Despite her adventurous spirit, Mellie carries some anxieties from a rough start in life. She's not very socialized, and her senses like smell and hearing seem a bit off, possibly due to past abuse. Mellie needs to be the only pet in the home, where she can feel secure and soak up all the love and attention she deserves. Because of her unique needs, Mellie thrives in a calm, understanding environment. She'd do best in an adult-only home or one with older, respectful kids (10+) who can honor her need for space and read her cues. Once Mellie bonds with her person, she's inseparable-your loyal shadow through thick and thin. She's not one to wander off; she's happiest by your side. If you're looking for a loving, adventurous companion who will cherish your bond, Mellie is ready to be your perfect match. Adoption fee is $300+ tax; apply at www.campcompanion.org

Story
Yay! I finally made it to Minnesota. I am the last of my litter to make it here. Hi! My name is Jasper. I have been here a few days and I’m doing really good. Says my foster mom. My foster mom lives in a condo and I’m really quiet so that’s very helpful. My foster mom has these little furry things that I’m very interested in but very gentle with. My foster mom has two cats. Since my foster mom lives in a condo, I have to go to the bathroom outside and I’m walking on a leash really well. Also been doing really well with my potty training. I am also doing really well in my kennel at night. And when my foster mom leaves. She just throws some treats in there, and I go in there and they stay nice and quiet. I am really picking up the idea that I have to go outside when she takes me out.So far, I like everybody and every dog I meet. I’m just a little timid, because I’m not sure and learning new things every day. But if you’re looking for a nice companion and someone that is willing to listen. I am your boy.--------------------------------------------All our Warrior Dogs will have all age appropriate medical care and vaccines, a microchip, and spayed/neutered if the dog is over 6 months of age at the time of adoption. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $550 plus taxI'm so very pleased to meet you!  I'm good with kids and love other dogs. I like to spend my days busying myself with toys and doggie chewies.  I like to stay active too by running and playing in the yard.  However, I usually fit a few naps into my day as well.  After all, who doesn't like a nap?  I'm learning what potty pads are and that I really should go outside to do my dirty business but it takes time to establish those habits.  I love to cuddle with my humans too. I'm searching for a fabulous forever home to share my life and love with! Do you want a great friend to join your family?  Well, adopt me and let's start making lasting memories together!   This pup and its siblings have been selected to be puppy ambassadors an event. The pups will be adoptable as of  November 14,2024.    * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
These two are a fabulous pair of mini-Aussie cattle dogs s and they deserve a wonderful home to make up for their early life. Their original family got them as a gift for a 10-year-old who wasn't at all interested. They are 6-7 years old and until they came into rescue, they never even had names! Despite being ignored and shouted at, they are sweet boys, and they have great dog manners. They are calm, loving, and so grateful for any love and attention. They adore their new toys and were ecstatic when a friend came by with kids. They are housebroken, great with both big and small dogs and have ignored the cats completely. We have given them all their shots, had them neutered and chipped and they are ready to go to their forever home! We believe that they will be good together or separate but if you would like to take both, we will discount the adoption fees to $500 for both. Melbourne is currently in TN but the transport to your area is included in your fee. We use Rescue Riders Pet Transport, the most animal-friendly transport on the road.
