Story
This 1.5-year-old cattle dog mix is a bundle of love! At 55 pounds, Jenkins is happy cuddling on the couch with his head in your lap or entertaining himself with toys. He is a low-maintenance, easygoing pup ready to bring joy to his forever family.Jenkins is fully house-trained and makes a great roommate! He knows the difference between dog toys and people things—so no chewing on your shoes with this guy. He can be trusted to be home alone and is very polite around food, though he might sniff around to check out what’s cooking. He’s also crate-trained and sleeps peacefully in his crate at night or whenever he needs a break. While Jenkins barks occasionally as a part-time watchdog, he’s easily calmed and makes a fantastic home office coworker, quietly napping through virtual meetings. He previously lived in a townhouse without issue, making him a good fit for various living situations.Jenkins will easily adjust to new friends if given a little help! At his foster home, Jenkins has greatly benefited from his confident canine sibling who can help him feel secure and teach him the ropes. He loves to chase, wrestle, and play tug with other dogs, but is still learning to share his toys and space. While Jenkins hasn’t had extensive experience with children, he’s greeted kids at the bus stop with polite curiosity. A meet-and-greet would help determine compatibility with potential human siblings. Cats, however, are a definite no-go for Jenkins. Living with a cat causes him significant anxiety, so a cat-free home is a must for his happiness and well-being. Jenkins thrives on a mix of activity and relaxation. A morning walk, some toy time, and play sessions with a doggy sibling are enough to keep him happy. If he’s an only dog, two short walks a day or some yard time would suit him perfectly. He’s not prone to zoomies but has bursts of playful energy that are fun to watch. Jenkins loves toys—especially ones he can chew or tug—and enjoys chasing balls or being chased while carrying one. His adorable habit of pouncing on toys will keep you smiling, and his independent playtime shows his ability to entertain himself when needed.Jenkins came from a loving family who helped him become the confident, affectionate dog he is today. He’s trusting, sweet-natured, and eager to bond with his new family. Could Jenkins be your perfect match?
