I am a sweet, snuggly, chill and handsome boy. My momma, Lexus, was a stray from Missouri.  A few hours after being pulled from the shelter, our momma surprised everyone by delivering 7 beautiful babies. A week after being born, we made the long journey to our loving Minnesota foster home. We live in a quiet puppy room with plenty of room to stretch out, play and grow. I am eating puppy food and go potty on a schedule. My momma, along with a few of her dog friends, are teaching me how to be a fun, loving and confident puppy. My siblings and I love to eat, sleep, play and eat some more. We love to wrestle and chase each other, especially when we want the same toy. We also enjoy snuggling up and puppy piling on the bed for a nice long nap. It is time for me to find my forever family; is that you? Hurry and fill out the application because I am excited to start our lives together. I had a rough start in Oklahoma but after some TLC, I'm doing just great!  My foster family says I am a lover, not a fighter. I love other friendly dogs, cats, and people. It can take me a bit to warm to new folks, but after a few minutes, I'm all snuggles. According to my puppy obedience classes, I'm a well adjusted sweet boy. I would love to go to a home with a friendly affectionate adult dog so I can have a friend! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Winnie is a playful, energetic, young cattle dog/husky mix who is approx just over a year old. She was found in the middle of the road on a stormy day, frantically pacing back and forth, soaking wet and covered in ticks. After many people reported seeing her and no one coming forward to claim her for weeks, Winnie was lured to a live trap with lots of good treats so she could be brought safely inside! Young lady Winnie has a lot of energy and curiosity! She loves to play fetch, go for car rides, dog kibble and hanging out with her dog friends. Winnie currently is fostered on a farm with dogs, cats, cows, horses and chickens. She occasionally wants to chase the cats and chickens, but overall does well everyone. She's a little nervous about new people at first, but warms up quickly. She will do best in a home with older kids or adults that will respect her boundaries and that can be patient with her as she will need to continue some basic training. Winnie does have some separation anxiety (which is understandable with what she went through!) but still kennels pretty well. She will always greet you with a very excited howl when you arrive back home! Winnie is a smart girl and with her food motivation and complete loyalty to her people once she's comfortable, she will make a great companion! Winnie is currently fostered in Becker, MN. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Rza pronounced (Rizza) is a 39lb spayed female and is about 3 years old. She is the perfect size for cuddling, which she loves! She will bring her people toys to play fetch or tug for a few minutes at a time and she will even let you win sometimes (for your own self esteem). Rza loves getting pets on her tummy and scratches, and curling up between your legs, laying around for hours. She loves getting brushed, going on walks, and tearing up stuffed toys. She is always happy and relaxed when she is with her people at home. She does like to bark at other dogs walking past the house or yard, or on a walk, but quiets down after a minute or two. Rza is 100% potty trained. She's had no accidents indoors since she entered foster care 4 months ago. She sleeps through the night 8 + hours.   Rza had a rough few years of life before coming to us - she was left to live outside for the last two winters in ND and was attacked multiple times by large farm dogs, requiring vet visits at least twice. Because of this, she DOES resource guard food/bones from other dogs in her foster home. However, she DOES NOT resource guard from humans! You can take found "food" on the street right out of her mouth, and she will let you take her bones or food or toys away with zero issues. With other dogs, Rza also tends to escalate past the comfort threshold when playing with other dogs. Because of this, Rza would do best and be happiest as an only dog. She loves humans much more than dogs anyway!   Cats - Rza was non-reactive and respectful indoors for a couple days, but when outside, if a cat runs by she will chase. She has not been around children, but she does tend to jump up when greeting people.    Rza would love to be loved and cuddled by someone she can be absolutely devoted to!  Interested in adopting? Nana has been in foster care with a MARS staff member since Aug 2021. During this time Nana has been working on all her life skills, with the help of our trainer.  At her annual exam on 6/7/22 she tested positive for heartworm. She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Nana would LOVE a home with a big fenced yard that she can safely run around and have the zoomies. She loves to chill outside during the warm months! Once you are one of her trusted people she is sweet and cuddly and just wants to be with you. She would prefer to be the only pet in her new home.   If you are interested in learning more about Nana please complete an application! Story
This is Banjo! He’s a Husky born 8/27/22. Banjo is a sweet & smart dog, who does great with other dogs, loves toys & shows no issues towards adults or children.  He craves attention & interaction. He has been around dogs of all sizes & cats, even though he did bark at cats. He is learning to walk on a leash. Since he doesn't have a lot of confidence, should be tethered carefully outside of a fenced yard, as he doesn't always come when called.  He only barks when other dogs bark. Banjo has been submissive to senior dogs. He is not highly food or treat motivated, so training to come inside or go into the kennel is a work in progress. Once in his kennel, he does very well & sleeps quietly all night. He does well in the car too! An active family would be the best for this young man, who still has much to learn & is eager to please! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi! I’m Spankie, a Cattle Dog mix pup born in approximately January of 2024.   I came to Minnesota from Arkansas on 10/20/24 and am really loving the adventure of meeting new people and going to new places. I’m always happy, in fact my tail is almost always wagging as I roam around! I also LOVE belly rubs. I’m curious and playful and love to play with other dogs. My foster dog sister and I love to wrestle! I also like my human foster siblings (9 & 11) a lot and I have been around cats previously and don’t have any issues with them. I understand basic commands such as sit, wait, coming when called (if I’m not distracted by excitement) and am eager to learn more every day! I’m doing really well on my potty training and am almost fully trained! I sleep in my crate while my foster family is gone and at night, and I’m really comfortable in it. I sleep through the night quietly and wake up excited to take on the world for another day! I love going for walks and car rides. I have been doing super well walking nicely on a leash. I get really excited when I see a squirrel, I’m curious about them! One of my favorite activities is to sit by the window and watch outside. I see all of the leaves blowing in the wind and the squirrels and neighbors walking by. At the end of the day, my favorite thing to do is snuggle with my foster family on the couch. I’m a super fun and lovable boy who is so excited to meet my forever family! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee: $550 plus taxHello to my future family! My name is Honolulu, but foster mom calls me Loki Dokey or Lulu. I am so excited to meet you! I cam up from Mississippi with my mom, Graceland, and two brothers (one already adopted). I am currently about 15 lbs., and foster mom estimates me to be around 35-40 lbs as an adult. The perfect size she says! What you will love about me is my beautiful coloring and the smile that never leaves my face!   I am a fun and frisky little boy, and love other dogs. I currently live with three resident dogs; a 1.5 year old Great Pyrenees mix, a 5 year old Pittie mix, and a 10 year old Lab mix. I am learning so much from them now that I am the only puppy in the house. Foster mom is amazed at how calmly and quickly I was able to integrate with the other dogs. I know she appreciates that I don’t come in “hot,” but take my time to really get to know them before the playtime begins. I love playing with the resident dogs, and cuddling for naptime with the Pittie mix. I would love to have a doggy sibling so we can play chase and tug!   We are working on some training, but I have been learning a lot from the resident dogs. I am mostly potty trained, which is pretty good for my young age. On a consistent schedule, I don’t have accidents in the house! I am also comfortable in a kennel, and sometimes just go rest in there. We have already worked a lot on impulse control and have already shown progress in waiting patiently for food/treats and decreasing the jumping behaviors. I have a pretty good sit’s and am working on a few other things, but as a puppy, we are taking it slow. It helps that my foster mom is a professional dog trainer and is super patient with my learning process. I have been walking pretty good on a leash for a puppy, but will still need some work on that one. When in doubt, a quick “uh uh” will stop me and get my attention. Finally, I am very treat motivated so am super easy to train!   I love people! I will give you a big smile and a wiggle butt and be your best friend after a few treats as a hello. I really want to please my human(s) and am trying really hard to make the best decisions! So make sure to reward me when I make good decisions. Foster mom says I am a very typical doggy puppy, and it just takes some patience and good boundaries. More than anything, I am working on building my confidence, which means foster mom gives me so many news things and new sounds and then lets me know how awesome I am. I am a high energy dog (Cattle dog mutt), so I really like to play and have fun activities!   Are you the family for me? Maybe you just want a dog for your dog? I always have a happy face for my human, and just love to be near you! Foster mom says that she can tell that I just want to please the humans…get the cuddles…and eat all the treats! I would do great with any family and would do best with a confident playful older dog. Fill out an app to meet me…you won’t be disappointed!      * Puppies under 5 months should not be left alone for more than 4 hours at a time to help them with potty training and socialization.   If you have previously applied with us please email adoptionatmars@gmail.com to reactivate your application with new interest.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Story
Meet Dally - and check out his cute spots!  Dally is a very sweet and loving boy. He LOVES attention and loves to love - he is just happy to be a dog. He loves to play with other dogs, play with toys and chomp on his bones.  Dally was found adabandoned and tied up with no food, water or shelter  - but he has been adjusting very well to being inside with his people and is learning how to be a very good boy. He wants nothing more than to snuggle up with his humans and tries so hard to make them happy. He is always up for an adventure!  Dally is crate and house trained, but he will cry when you leave at first until he realizes someone is coming back for him. Dally took a few days to adjust to his new environment and we can expect with a transition (like with any dog) he will need some time to learn the ropes. He is also learning his basic manners and how to walk nicely on a leash. Dally is very athletic! So much so, he can jump a 4ft fence. Don't worry, he does just fine leashed outside - or a 6ft privacy fence would keep him contained! Dally has not been exposed to cats, so we are unsure how he would do with them. He does have a high prey drive when outside, so a dog-savvy cat would be a must.  Dally would thrive in training classes - he is super smart and loves to learn!  This boy deserves the very best. Can you give him a home for the holidays? If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please submit an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about The Rescue Crew adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our Adoption Process page on our official website.  All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.  The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Application prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online adoption application here as well. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. ##2213868##
