Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there, I’m Beck! I just joined my fabulous foster family, and let me tell you—it’s a tail-wagging extravaganza! As a herding dog on a mission, my days are packed with all kinds of fun—herding balls, snuffle mats, and tug-of-war toys that make any pup’s tail wag! Every day brings a new adventure, especially when we hit the trails for walks where those sneaky squirrels are always dashing about, begging for my attention. But don’t worry—I’m a good girl who sticks close to my foster and keeps my paws in line! My foster says I’m a certified kiss machine and a lap-loving superstar! If you’re an active human looking for a furry best friend, look no further—I’m your gal, ready to shower you with all the puppy love! Take a look at this cute video of Beck playing with her foster family’s resident dog. She loves playing outside! Beck is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Loulou, this adorable sweetheart, is eagerly looking for a loving forever home! Her journey began when she was discovered as a pregnant stray, seeking shelter under an old abandoned porch. Thankfully, she was rescued just in time and brought into our care, where she safely delivered her precious puppies. Loulou is a sweet young girl who adores affectionate pets and cuddles. Her favorite thing in the world is to snuggle up with her humans and soak in all the love they have to offer. While Loulou can be a bit nervous in unfamiliar situations, she's made great strides in becoming more playful and outgoing. She still needs slow introductions outside and patience. Once she warms up to you she transforms into a warm and loving companion. Loulou gets along famously with the resident dog in her foster home, as well as with young children. She has basic obedience, goes potty outside, and loves to go for walks. She’s a smart cookie … here’s a video of her showing off her new trick!  Although she has managed to sneak out of the fence, she never leaves the yard. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Loulou and provide her the home she needs to thrive, Loulou is waiting to become your loyal and loving companion!   LouLou is from Texas. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus tax Bananarama, aka Nanner or NaNa, is a very special girl around here. Nana has been in foster care with a MARS staff member since Aug 2021. During this time Nana has been working on all her life skills, with the help of our trainer.  At her annual exam on 6/7/22 she tested positive for heartworm. She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Nana would LOVE a home with a big fenced yard that she can safely run around and have the zoomies. She loves to chill outside during the warm months! Once you are one of her trusted people she is sweet and cuddly and just wants to be with you. She would prefer to be the only pet in her new home.   If you are interested in learning more about Nana please complete an application! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. //

Story
This is Banjo! He’s a Husky born 8/27/22. Banjo is a sweet & intelligent dog, who does great with other dogs, loves toys & shows no issues towards adults or children.  He craves attention & interaction. He has been around dogs of all sizes & cats, even though he did bark at cats. He is learning to walk on a leash & since he doesn't have a lot of confidence, should be tethered carefully outside of a fenced yard, as he doesn't always come when called.  He only barks when other dogs bark, and has been submissive to senior dogs. He is not highly food or treat motivated, so training to come inside or go into the kennel is a work in progress. Once in his kennel, he does very well & sleeps quietly all night.  He does well in the car too! An active family would be the best for this young man, who still has much to learn & is eager to please! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $525.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 6, 2024, 10:09 am
