Thanks to some attentive rescuers and veterinary care, we've got it all figured out. I'll need a specific diet and a pancreatic enzyme replacement supplement to keep me feeling great. Mac is a sweet boy who knows what he wants! He does love to chase and play with animals smaller than him. I am a local surrender. From the foster: Hi, I'm Camilo! My favorite thing to do is play fetch. If I have a ball then I'm super happy. I also like to explore new places and car rides for ice cream are pretty fun. I have quite a bit of energy and will let you know I am bored by shoving toys in your face. I also really enjoy cuddling and will curl up next to you on the couch anytime. I am a super sweet dog and I really love my people. I'm such a good boy that my foster family leaves me to have free range of the house while they're gone. I sleep with my foster mom and prefer it to a kennel but I am okay with either. I really hope to find my forever home with people that will love me as much as I love them! Camilo does have seasonal allergies and will occasionally need shots for it but is really easily managed. The biggest complication with him is he has some pretty severe people reactivity. He does amazing with us and is just fine with close friends and family that he has met many times. He doesn't like strangers to come in the house and is okay outside as long as people are far enough away. This is something we have been working on but he still has a good ways to go before he is able to be brought anywhere with people. This past winter he did just fine as less people are outside, however, with the nicer weather his reactivity became more apparent. He does just fine with most dogs, especially if they are smaller than him, and currently lives comfortably with another dog in the same space. He really is an amazing companion. He is super sweet and gentle when at home, just doesn't know how to manage his fears and needs some more extensive training.

Hi My name is Hail. From his foster:Hail is an exuberant happy puppy who is ready for adventure! He loves to be outside and play in the backyard and enjoys going on walks. He is working on walking nicely on the leash and not pulling. He is completely potty trained and does ask to go out when he needs to go potty. He is also is kennel trained and sleeps overnight in the kennel without complaining. Hail is very smart; food motivated and learns quickly. He is working on simple commands (sit, down, and coming when called) and doing well. He would be a great partner in anyone's life adventure!

Hi! I'm Crystal. I'm from Kentucky. Crystal is a sweet, easy-going and happy girl! She has a beautiful gray, black and caramel-colored coat, and is a healthy, energetic pup. She is able to chill inside the house and hang out by me when I'm working. She loves to be outside, loves swimming, and playing fetch. She has ONE favorite pink squeaky ball that she keeps by her side. She loves our daily walks, and we are working on her leash skills. She pulls at the start of the walk due to her excitement, but as we hit our stride she settles in. She is curious and friendly, and wants to inspect any human we pass by. Her nose is incredible. It is constantly working, and I think she would excel at scent work as well as agility. As for other dogs, Crystal shows interest, but if we're out on a walk, we keep moving along. If another dog runs up to us, she is cautious. If she perceives a threat, she will growl. If she perceives a friend, she will wag her tail. In both cases, she's not super interested in the dog, preferring to keep going. She is living with my resident dog who is a larger, submissive male. He is easily bossed around by her, and the two follow one another around and lie by one another. But neither initiates play with the other. They are both herders, and each one pays the most attention to me. In her forever home, Crystal would do well as an only dog or paired with a submissive dog. She has had little exposure to kids. She tolerates them but does not engage with them, and prefers to stick close to you. She would do best with older, dog-savvy kids who will respect her space, and who will not be knocked over if she tries to herd them or block their path. She recently started taking daily desmopressin eyedrops - one drop in the morning in one eye, and one drop in the evening in the other eye. The medication costs about $29/month. Its purpose is to help keep her urine concentrated. Her condition of diabetes insipidus causes her system to flush urine out of her bladder sooner than it should. (See below for the veterinarian's more technical explanation. Also, feel free to google "diabetes insipidus for more info.) The desmopressin makes up for the too-low or absent hormone that helps keep her urine from becoming too diluted. When she is not on the medication, she will *sometimes* urinate a small amount, usually when she's sleeping hard. She does not urinate in her kennel, or when she's just lounging around. The vet has dialed in the right eyedrop dose for Crystal, and she has come to like the whole routine around it. Of course it involves getting a treat afterward. And it gives us one more chance to do a little training - either sit, down, shake, wait, etc., which she also loves. She is skilled at getting over to the treat cupboard in record time, right after getting the eyedrop! Crystal is a beautiful, fun and funny little dog who is excellent company! Please apply to meet her to see if she is a fit for you. From the Vet: Crystal has been diagnosed with diabetes insipidus. Crystal has been doing well on a trial of a medicated eye drop called Desmopressin. This medication runs roughly $29 per bottle. We recommend getting Crystal established with a primary care vet upon adoption so her future family can continue to work through this with her. Diabetes Insipidus does not necessarily require this treatment, but it may be helpful with her symptoms of frequent urination. She may require periodic urine rechecks in her new home, but this will depend on the treatment plan pursued by her future adopters.

Hi! I'm Cinnabun! I am about 4 months old and 20 lbs. I am an energetic, smart, and playful pup! I would do best in a home without young children, though I do like them! I have been guarding my food so I need some help with that! I love to learn though, I just need you to provide the instruction! It would be best for mealtimes to be away from people and other dogs... Table for one please! :) My report cards for house and crate training have been top notch... I'm really smart! From her foster: Cinnabun brings laughter and sweetness into our home every day and we truly enjoy her company. She's recovering from a fractured spine but is well on her way back, she is fully mobile, active, and very adventurous. She already knows that outside is potty time and does well if let out throughout the day, if crated does well for longer period of time as well. Food and toy motivated so training has been pretty quick and she happily learns new instructions. Very social with both people and other dogs (has not met any cats yet). I am a very handsome young adult male Mini Aussiedoodle who doesn’t like a lot of commotion, but I love to cuddle, and I prefer women. Truth is, I am highly sensitive and reactive to ‘stranger danger’! That’s right, I react to people approaching the front door, coming into the house, and even people approaching my kennel. I know…it’s not something I’m proud of but I’m working on it…really, I am!! In fact, foster mom is trying to help me associate new people (strangers) with positive outcomes and I am confident that I will be successful in time but for now it is still a work in progress. In the meantime, mom sometimes puts a muzzle on me and although it doesn’t bother me at all I prefer, of course, not to wear it so my new family will need to commit to working with me on training. Muzzle training may make me look scary, but it allows me to safely meet and work on my training so I can be happy!  After all, consistency, patience, loving encouragement, and LOTS of mental and physical stimulation are the keys to my success!!! I am good with older kids, cats, and other dogs; and my favorite activities include going on my daily leashed walks or car rides; hiking; exploring; eating treats like plain Greek yogurt or pumpkin; playing with small squeaky toys and other dogs; chewing on Benebones; and running zoomies in the yard so the yard at my new home will need to be fenced! Hee, hee!! I also hope to have a small, confident doggie companion who might help me overcome some of my anxiety about strangers!!! By the way, I almost forgot to mention that I am a prodigy…no, really!
