Story
This 2-year-old mutt brightens every room he enters! Nitro is all about his humans, offering endless loyalty, snuggles, and wet kisses. At 55 pounds, he’s still a true lap dog at heart, and will always find a way to settle in close and rest his head in your hands. Even though he spent six long months at the shelter, Nitro has an unwavering trust in people. He is house-trained and quick to pick up on rules, so he settled into his foster home with ease. He has come a long way with his crate training. When his foster humans go to work, he settles into his crate nicely with a benebone and a peanut butter kong toy. At night, he goes right to bed now that his crate is next to other resident dogs’ crates. He's making great progress on his confidence and his attachment, so his future family just needs to have patience and consistency in mind. Nitro picks up new manners and skills VERY quickly. We have been working on teaching the “wait” command to build door manners and he’s made significant strides with this, especially when it comes to duration. We are able to put him in a “sit / wait” while placing his meal on the floor and before going through any doors, and he waits several seconds for a release command. He already knows all basic commands and would be a great candidate for continued training in obedience or a sport!Originally believed to be a Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix, Nitro has traits of Black Mouth Cur as well. He’s high-energy and thrives on long daily walks and plenty of activity, but he’s equally content to relax indoors as long as he’s near his people. As long as he gets his daily exercise in, he has no issues with behavior or house manners. He could easily be left out to free roam in the house should his future family choose. He’s proven to be a social and playful dog, doing well with dogs of all sizes. Nitro’s playful side comes alive when he’s chasing toys or playing games of keep-away with his foster brother, always with a big smile on his face. While he hasn’t been around cats yet, his gentle demeanor suggests he could adjust with proper introductions. Nitro has also done really well with small children (3 and 4). In fact, he would probably love to be in a family with kids. He gave them lots of kisses and took treats gently. When they were playing and running around, he wanted to be right in the middle of the play. He even let our nephew stack toys on his back and played tug with him.Whether you’re heading out for a walk or curling up on the couch, Nitro is ready to be your loyal and loving friend! If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, heartworm/Lyme test, all age-appropriate vaccinations (distemper, rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchip implant (including registration). Adoption fees INCLUDE a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. Due to post-adoption services provided, we prefer to adopt within a 150-mile radius of the Twin Cities. However, we will consider up to 250 miles if the foster agrees to travel requirements and staff approval.

But here's the thing—Solavina has a heart that leans towards her human companions more than other dogs. When it comes to commands, she's a pro at "sit" and "stay," showcasing her cleverness. Story
To apply for a dog from All Dog Rescue, please fill out our online application at www.AllDogMN.org.  All Dog Rescue only adopts to homes within 60-miles of the Twin Cities. Visit our FAQ page to learn why. Hey, wonderful humans! It's me, Deuce, the 6-month-old pup who's ready to steal your heart (and very likely a few sticks from the yard). I love spending my days playing, going on adventures and expanding my horizons with my humans, and searching the yard for sticks to chew on. When I'm all tuckered out, I am a big fan of naps and snuggling!I've been busy working on house training, and I'm nearly there, so you won't have too many messes to clean up. I also have been having a blast learning new things, especially since I found out there are treats involved... YUM!At doggy daycare, I'm a staff favorite and I love playing with other dogs. I'm looking forward to finding a forever home with an older dog who can help me build my confidence, help guide me, and of course, be my friend. And since I'm not quite ready to share my forever home with young kids just yet, I'm looking for a home with just grown-ups for now. That's me in a nutshell and I look forward to finding my forever family soon! Deuce's adoption fee is $550, which includes vet exam, age appropriate vaccinations and tests, microchip, and spay or neuter. Please note we only accept cash or checks-no credit cards.October 25, 2024, 12:26 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sky is a 5 year old toy Aussie (possibly Aussiedoodle--although she does shed) who is a recent breeder release from a puppy mill.  She is taking in this whole new world and would love a patient and understanding home to help her thrive. The great stuff: She is incredibly sweet and smart. She is picking up housebreaking super fast and I expect her to be fully housebroken easily in her new home. She loves to be around people and would adore to have her new family home a lot (Retired? Work from Home? Have a lot of love to pour into a new friend who loves attention? Want a fun little dog to train and see huge gains? Sky is your girl!). She is small (about 15 lbs) and dainty and obviously adorable. Probably not a good fit for little kids, because she is still pretty scared and shy, but she seems to like everyone. She thinks running around in the fenced yard outside is very exciting and it is probably her favorite new thing, prancing around happily, just wait until she learns that it gets warmer and will be even better soon! She is good with other dogs (would do great with a little dog friend) and ignores my cat. She likes to be cozy and wear sweaters and explore new places. She sleeps in a crate at night and is totally quiet when you are in the same room.   The things to work on: Sky has never learned all the normal dog things and spent the last 5 years in a small cage so will need someone to teach her what good dog life is all about. She does not know how to do stairs or cars or jump on the couch. She is a bit nervous of new spaces and sounds. She is not used to being pet or picked up so shies away from hands, but loves to be pet and snuggle once she is settled next to you. She will need to learn basic obedience and things like how to walk on a leash. The hardest part so far as her foster: Sky has decided she likes this new life and does not want to be left alone ever again, so she barks when she can't see anyone, especially me. She has very quickly decided I should never leave her side and follows me around the house and cries when I go to work. If you are okay with this little bit of separation anxiety that I expect to improve over time (maybe no shared walls or long stretches of alone time for her), this girl is a diamond in the rough. Read about rehabbing and training mill dogs, and if you are up for the challenge, reach out--I think she will be an amazing dog with lots of love and a little training.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Please go to our website www.wagsmn.org and fill out an Adoption Application.  Once the application is processed, a Wags representative will contact you, answer any questions you may have, and set up a time/location for a meet and greet!  A home visit is required prior to adoption.  Thank you for choosing to adopt! Breed and temperament determination:  Wags & Whiskers Animal Rescue attempts to determine breed and temperament using a combination of looks, information provided to us at intake, and our experience with the animal while in our Rescue.  We do not guarantee this determination.
