You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Winnie is a playful, energetic, young cattle dog/husky mix who is approx just over a year old. She was found in the middle of the road on a stormy day, frantically pacing back and forth, soaking wet and covered in ticks. After many people reported seeing her and no one coming forward to claim her for weeks, Winnie was lured to a live trap with lots of good treats so she could be brought safely inside! Young lady Winnie has a lot of energy and curiosity! She loves to play fetch, go for car rides, dog kibble and hanging out with her dog friends. Winnie currently is fostered on a farm with dogs, cats, cows, horses and chickens. She occasionally wants to chase the cats and chickens, but overall does well everyone. She's a little nervous about new people at first, but warms up quickly. She will do best in a home with older kids or adults that will respect her boundaries and that can be patient with her as she will need to continue some basic training. Winnie does have some separation anxiety (which is understandable with what she went through!) but still kennels pretty well. She will always greet you with a very excited howl when you arrive back home! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.     Rza pronounced (Rizza) is a 39lb spayed female and is about 3 years old. She is the perfect size for cuddling, which she loves! She will bring her people toys to play fetch or tug for a few minutes at a time and she will even let you win sometimes (for your own self esteem). Rza loves getting pets on her tummy and scratches, and curling up between your legs, laying around for hours. She loves getting brushed, going on walks, and tearing up stuffed toys. She is always happy and relaxed when she is with her people at home. She does like to bark at other dogs walking past the house or yard, or on a walk, but quiets down after a minute or two. Rza is 100% potty trained. She's had no accidents indoors since she entered foster care 4 months ago. She sleeps through the night 8 + hours.   Rza had a rough few years of life before coming to us - she was left to live outside for the last two winters in ND and was attacked multiple times by large farm dogs, requiring vet visits at least twice. Because of this, she DOES resource guard food/bones from other dogs in her foster home. However, she DOES NOT resource guard from humans! You can take found "food" on the street right out of her mouth, and she will let you take her bones or food or toys away with zero issues. With other dogs, Rza also tends to escalate past the comfort threshold when playing with other dogs. Because of this, Rza would do best and be happiest as an only dog. She loves humans much more than dogs anyway!   Cats - Rza was non-reactive and respectful indoors for a couple days, but when outside, if a cat runs by she will chase. Nana has been in foster care with a MARS staff member since Aug 2021. During this time Nana has been working on all her life skills, with the help of our trainer.  At her annual exam on 6/7/22 she tested positive for heartworm. She went through heartworm treatment with flying colors. She has been retested for heartworm and is now negative. She needs to remain on monthly heartworm prevention, year round, for the rest of her life. Nana came to MARS with some significant fear based reactivity, stranger danger and trust issues. With the dedication of her foster and trainer she has improved dramatically and is ready to find her FOREVER home.  Nana will need to continue using these newly mastered life skills in her new home with a calm and confident human leader. MARS will provide training with her adopter during the transition.  While Nana is able to live in a townhome she would do best without shared walls as she does get vocal when she hears the door bell, loud noises, sees dogs or sees/hears people outside. Meet Dally - and check out his cute spots!  Dally is a very sweet and loving boy. He LOVES attention and loves to love - he is just happy to be a dog. He loves to play with other dogs, play with toys and chomp on his bones.  Dally was found adabandoned and tied up with no food, water or shelter  - but he has been adjusting very well to being inside with his people and is learning how to be a very good boy. He wants nothing more than to snuggle up with his humans and tries so hard to make them happy. He is always up for an adventure!  Dally is crate and house trained, but he will cry when you leave at first until he realizes someone is coming back for him. Dally took a few days to adjust to his new environment and we can expect with a transition (like with any dog) he will need some time to learn the ropes. He is also learning his basic manners and how to walk nicely on a leash. Dally is very athletic! So much so, he can jump a 4ft fence. Don't worry, he does just fine leashed outside - or a 6ft privacy fence would keep him contained! Dally has not been exposed to cats, so we are unsure how he would do with them. He does have a high prey drive when outside, so a dog-savvy cat would be a must.  Dally would thrive in training classes - he is super smart and loves to learn!  This boy deserves the very best. In the spring of 2023, we got a call about 4 dogs who were in bad shape and living in the woods a couple of hours from me. We set traps and were able to rescue 2 of the 4. We tried and tried to get the other 2, but we were unable to do so. Some of the local people continued to try to get them, as well, but couldn’t. I am still very sad about having to leave them behind. Chester and Chloe were near death when we rescued them. They were starving, their skin was horrible, and of course, they had every known parasite. They are healthy now. Chloe is still very shy, and I feel that she needs a special home with a lot of love, patience and attention! We do not see any aggression in her. She has been at Blue Ribbon Kennels now for 14 months and needs a forever and loving home so badly. She has never had the opportunity to live inside a house and to be part of a family. Chloe is in Mississippi. When adopted, she will come fully vetted and will be transported by Rescue Riders, a very reliable transporter. All of this is included in her adoption fee.

Sure, I have limited feeling and movement in my hind legs, but I love life just the same! I mean not only do I have a wonderful wheelchair that allows me to run around but I also get to do about 10-15 minutes of physical therapy, stretches, & exercises every single day to help ensure my muscles don’t atrophy. Some people may not like doing a PT regimen, but I don’t mind it at all because it’s more quality time with my people. I would love to find a family that would also bring me to a chiropractor, acupuncturist, and even swimming!! Oh my gosh not only is playing fetch in the water is SOOOO much fun but I am an excellent swimmer! I do not like a lot of commotion and I’m a bit shy around new people especially if they get too close, but I love to be with MY people and I’m getting braver every day! I have a high prey drive so cats are probably not a good fit for me; I’m good with kids as long as they don't try and climb on me; and I do well with most other dogs although I can be a bit selective with small dogs. But mostly, I am easy going! I am a super smart boy who’s not only potty, crate, and leash trained but I know a bunch of commands like “down”, “kennel/crate”, “outside”, “wait”, and a release word “ok”.  Also, I have learned how to go up and down stairs! I can climb 3-4 steps of any surface on my own, and a full flight of carpeted stairs on my own if supervised. Sometimes I need a little help to get started if the landing is slippery like vinyl or hardwood. Ideally my forever home doesn't have a lot of stairs inside and going outside.  I am a happy, playful, and very loving boy who loves giving hugs, kisses, & snuggles, playing fetch in a huge yard, going to the dog park, playing with my toys, going for leashed walks, getting lots of belly rubs, and eating treats especially fruits & veggies! YUUUMMM!!! Oh yeah, I almost forgot, I also love to practice Barn Hunt…I may not be able to compete, but I sure do have a great time practicing! Hee, hee!! I am an incredibly beautiful 3 year old Australian Cattle dog mix. I am a bit on the smaller size – so perfect for snuggling into a comfy dog bed! A little about me – I am deaf, but don’t let that stop me and am a very smart girl! I have picked up the routine in the house very quick. I also have a medical issue called “fly biting” – the vet discovered it is likely related to my diet. With a low carb diet and daily Prilosec, it is manageable. It might also be a bit anxiety based and/or habitual so when we meet my foster family can tell you about my routine and triggers. They think I would do best in a calm home. When I came up to Minnesota it was discovered I was heartworm positive. Now that those pesky bugs are gone, I'm a healthy girl, but need year round heartworm pills.   I would love to find a forever home with another dog that can help me stay on a routine and keep me busy. I am not a high energy dog but am a busy girl following my people and the other dogs around the house and yard. I don’t need a fenced yard since I am leash trained but would do best in a fenced yard to run and play in – or someone who can help me burn some energy out on walks, runs or teach me agility skills. I do try and play with the cats in my foster home, so if there are cats in my forever home they would need to be dog savvy and slowing introduced. If I didn’t have my foster sister to romp around and play with, I might be too interested in the cats and I don’t think they would enjoy how much fun I am. I love being around my people and following them around – they are helping me work on my manners like not jumping on people or bark at strangers. The barking doesn’t really bother me since I can’t hear it anyway. I am potty trained and crate trained. I live with a few other dogs and really enjoy the company of one in particular – she is a great buddy and we like to play together. Sometimes I do get into trouble, and it kinda makes my foster dad laugh, although he knows he shouldn’t. He says that I will pick up anything that isn’t nailed down – shoes, socks etc and carry it around – then my foster sister grabs the other end and the circus begins. Play time is great!! I love to be part of the action and would love to find a forever home that will love me unconditionally and help me be the best girl I can be! Welcome Birdie to CCPAL Rescue. She is a 6-month-old dog. She is an Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie. She weighs about 30 pounds and considered a medium sized dog. She is smart and knows a lot of commands. She walks good on a leash, potty trained, good in a car, knows sit, knows trade (which) you can use to swap out what she has in her mouth with something else and a few more things. You can see the other commands in the video. We have them written on her paperwork. She is very smart and attentive. She calms down nicely and can work with some moderate distractions. She has been in foster care and the foster did a lot of work getting her ready. She would be fine in a home with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She would be best with an active outdoorsy family that wants a loveable companion to join their home. She would make a good walking companion for someone and due to her size would be able to do some brisk walking. She has the long beautiful coat of the border collie. She is looking for her forever home. She is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. She takes time to warm up to people, but once she does, she cannot get enough belly rubs and snuggles. Until she feels comfortable, she will “alert bark” at strangers and does not want to be approached, unless it is on her terms. But… be ready for a complete 180. Displaying kindness and patience in the first few weeks will pay off in a lifetime of affection and adoration from this lovable girl. Before you know it, you will have a snuggle buddy and loving companion. She has begun occasionally letting a gentle stranger pet her, but it takes calm encouragement from the person she trusts. With consistency and support, she should greatly improve in this area. She went from being fearful of foster mom’s boyfriend to wanting belly rubs from him, within a few visits. Hi, I’m Moose! I’m a herding breed mix of some kind born 10/7/23!   I am very energetic and always looking to play. Jenny is a mini Aussie born 4/17/21. She lives with Jackie Too who is also a mini Aussie. They are best buddies and like to cuddle each other. Jackie Too is also Jenny’s protector. When I began fostering Jenny she was scared/shy and would hide. She is slowly coming out of her shell and will now cuddle and come to you to get attention. She does get scared easily and will retract back to hiding. She is not aggressive at all and you are able to pick her up if need be. She is working on potty training and using pee pads when not able to get outside. She does well in the kennel overnight or when I’m at work and she will let you know when she’s ready to get out. She is good with my 5 year old son. She is good with my German Shepherd and likes to bark at him. She prefers to play with her foster buddy Jackie Too. Jenny is not good with sudden movements as it makes her retract back to being scared. It makes it hard to walk her on leash with her being scared she pulls back. She has done well on a tie out except when it’s time to come in. I usually have to pick her up. She has been on two car rides. The first time she did well. She was in a kennel with Jackie Too. The second was not in a kennel on her way to the vet and she ended up throwing up. Jenny will look away if you look at her and seems to have a calm personality. However when it’s playtime she can have a high energy level. Jenny enjoys sleeping/cuddling with Jackie Too. She enjoys cuddles/belly rubs on her terms. She also loves playing with Jackie Too. She likes toys and I call her a secret chewer because she is sneaky at tracing things and you wouldn’t know it was her until you catch her in the act. She’s left alone for 8 hours Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and 11 hours every other weekend. She does well in the kennel and is excited to see you when you get home. There have been times where she barks/whines before you leave and when you get home.
