Story
This little lady is full of vigor. She likes to wrestle with her siblings. Chew on bones. Chase the balls across the room. Playing in the leaves is her favorite. She doesn’t have much food anxiety, but is still fed separately from her siblings with her own dish. She has the softest fur and enjoys a good head scratching. She knows how to use the potty bells on the door to go out. She will use the puppy pads by the door if she can’t hold her pee, but she doesn’t poop in the house. She loves to sit on your lap and nap. Secrets loves to drink directly from the water spray bottle if she hears it spraying.

Story
This little man is the smallest of the litter but probably one of the mightiest. He loves to spend time on your lap and is very social. He gives kisses and is very gentle. Hallows likes to play with balls, chew on bones, and antlers. Wrestling with his siblings is a must but he likes to win the match. Hallows has food insecurity with other animals from being in the shelter and having to fight for food. He is improving on this and he is fed separately from his siblings with a puzzle bowl to keep him from eating too quickly. Hallows has put on a good amount of weight since coming into rescue. Hallows knows what the potty bells mean when they ring but he doesn’t like to use them very often as they puppies go out as a group. His favorite activity is cuddling on your lap. Hallows uses the potty pads by the door to pee if he can’t hold it but doesn’t poop in the house.

Story
This boy loves to cuddle up on the couch to get away from his siblings. He is taller than the others so it is his secret hideaway. Phoenix has some mild food anxiety with the other pups but is doing much better after leaving the shelter learning he doesn’t have to fight to get food anymore. They are all fed separately with their own dishes. He loves to chew the arms off of stuffed animals. Naw on a good bone or antler sometimes to the point where he just needs a nap. He knows how to ring the potty bells to ask to go outside. He uses potty pads to pee by the door if he can’t hold it but doesn’t poop in the house. His favorite activity on a cold winter day is to curl up in front of the heat vent.

Story
Sweet, sweet Brinn is the smallest of her litter, but she may just have the biggest heart. This darling little girl came to Iowa from Texas and is now strong, beautiful, and ready for her very own loving family. Brinn has a soft, lovely brindle coat with white toes and a very endearing personality. She likes to romp but is also interested in being held and cuddled. Adopters MUST agree to spay at an appropriate stage. This puppy received monoclonal antibodies on December 24 for parvovirus that broke shrotly after her arrival in Iowa, but she is fully recovered and healthy! Her spirit help her to become strong and happy again. She loves the resident lab in her foster home; not tested with cats. Since she is so young, children should be supervised when with this sweet puppy.

Story
Tom Terrific! This little survivor is a rambunctious, friendly chow hound! Tom came to Iowa from a Texas shelter with his litter mates and is now a healthy guy with a gorgeous black brindle coat and sweet little white tips on some of his toes. Tom likes to play with the others, and also to 'announce' that it's time for breakfast! He likes to play, but likes some cuddle time, too. Adopters MUST agree to neuter at the appropriate stage. These puppies received monoclonal antibodies on December 24 for parvovirus that broke shortly after their arrival, but their happy spirits helped them to not only survive but to thrive. Because his is a young puppy, children should be supervised when interacting with happy, loving Tom.

Story
Mickey, Mickey, you're so fine! This absolutely adorable little gentleman is in search of his forever family. Mickey is not only gorgeous with a soft and shiny coat, but he is attentive and loving. We predict that he will be a snap to train because of his consistent interest in being with "his person" and his habit of looking for guidance. He loves to romp and play and is food motivated, but he also seeks out lovin's. Micki and his littermates came to Iowa from an overwhelmed shelter in Texas when they were very small. Mickey's loving spirit helped him to not only survive but to thrive. He is now healthy and, like we said, gorgeous! Adopters must agree to neuter at the appropriate stage.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Duke! I am a charming, happy, Cattle Dog mix.  I love to go for walks  or runs  (and I am really good at it!). I also love car rides, stuffed animals, and playing in a fenced-in backyard. I am completely house trained,  crate trained ,  and am very intelligent. I know what sit, lay down , and stay mean, but I could use some more training to work on those commands and anything else you want to teach me.  I love to run and play; I have a whole lot of energy, but I also love to cuddle, give kisses and be loved by my human companion .  Basically, I just like to be doing what my people are.   I am very cautious of new people. I really prefer to come check you out first, and I really rather you don’t pet me until I know you will treat me with kindness.  I may  have to meet you a couple times before  I know I can trust you .   I can’t tell my friends at Last Hope what happened to me before I came to stay with them, but all they know is that it takes me a while to trust people and be comfortable in situations.  Because of this, I should not be in a home with young kids or teens.  My dream home would be with an adult family who is familiar with my kind of challenges and who has a physically fenced in yard. I also want 1 other playful dog around my size (50 pounds+) or bigger  to play with (I can play a little rough so they need to be tough like me) and a family who is very patient with me while I adjust to new people in my life.  I am a very loyal companion and I just want to please my humans!   Once I know I can trust you, I just want to be around you and will be your shadow as you go through your day.  I have also had my DNA tested! I am officially an Australian Cattle Dog/Harrier mix!    Last Hope requires that all pets be kept as indoor pets, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes reference and vet checks and a home visit. The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear is a very handsome blue heeler, looking for an experienced dog owner to have a GREAT life with! Bear is super smart, and he loves to play with other dogs around his size. He requires a home with a playful and submissive canine companion near his size, he especially responds well to female dogs.  Bear is kennel trained as well as potty trained.  He loves to go for long walks and explore, he will make a superb companion for a very lucky owner! Bear does have stranger danger/reactive fears, he came to Last Hope very untrusting of people.  He has done great working with a firm and consistent handler, and will require this is his forever home but will likely always be initially reactive to strangers. Our volunteers have worked with him and found him to be a very friendly and affectionate dog, although he still requires slow and controlled introductions with strangers and will need an owner that appreciates his breed and unique needs.  No children, no cats and preferably a homeowner with a physical fenced in yard.  Bear's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, current vaccinations, and microchip.  last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, current on preventatives and vaccinations, and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
Kaiju has lots of energy and loves exploring. If you need a new walking or hiking buddy, he's up for the job! He is a lower ranking pack member and displays nervousness with new dogs. He plays well with his brother Voodoo and would do best with small groups play dates. He's not fan of crates and will try to breakout if he finds a weakness in it. We are working on this anxiety and he is showing improvement. Kaiju walks well on the leash except when a rabbit or something runs out. He will tug and wine but is easily corrected. He is not house trained but is doing better each day. He doesn't act afraid of men anymore but doesn't enjoy car rides either. He likes to hide all toys and bones in his blanket for safe keeping and prefers the couch to the floor.

Story
Voodoo is just a young pup that needs someone to take the time to teach him what is expected of him. He's very willing to listen and learn. He is still nervous around men but getting better everyday. He will be a water dog! He tried to get back in tub after his first bath. He's more of an alpha and would do better with other dogs with low to medium energy level. Also a smaller pack would be better. He can play with toys with other dogs but doesnt like to share his food or bones so those have to stay up. He's been holding his potty over night and most work days. Voodoo could learn to live with cats but would need some training. He loves to play with toys! ALSO, He smiles when he's really happy 😊
