Story
Buxton was born on October 14, 2021, and we adopted him in December 2022. He’s full of energy, incredibly loyal, and one of the most loving dogs we’ve ever known. Once Buxton gets to know you, his playful and affectionate personality shines through, he truly becomes your shadow and constant companion. He thrives on connection and would be the perfect fit for someone looking for a devoted best friend. Whether you're going for a walk, relaxing on the couch, or just moving around the house, Buxton will be right there with you, tail wagging. We’re heartbroken to be making this decision, but with two little ones under the age of two in our home, we’ve realized that Buxton isn’t comfortable around young children. Because of this, we’re looking to rehome him to a loving home without small kids, where he can feel safe, relaxed, and continue to share his love with someone special.

Story
So here I am in a foster home with a wonderful foster family and they have alot to say about me :) All of it is true, so you must be a puppy lover (the good the bad and the ugly.. :) and you must harness my energy by teaching me things and exercising my brain as much as my body! This is what my foster Dad has to say about me....... "Midgy is quite a pup!! She is fearless, vocal to include grunting, barking, growling and all of the above. Ankle biter extraordinaire. She has personality for days and can go from sweetheart to mini raptor in seconds. She must be watched during feeding, she will eat her food , then the other dogs food, and the cats food and keep eating till she pops, literally! She was pretty sick when she came to us, parvo it was, but the monoclonal antibody cured her quickly!! Midgy is adorable and a handful at the same time!!" So buckle up buttercup! She will challenge you and melt your heart at the same time, not for the faint of heart ;) Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Story
Brady wants to know if you have just a minute or two to hear about what a good boy he is. If he could he’d tell you all about the circumstances that brought him to HSNEI and how he’s sure it was all meant to be so he could find his true forever family. Brady’s rescue story, unfortunately, started with his previous owner leaving him outside a store one day. Being the incredibly loyal boy he is, Brady stayed in that spot all day, waiting for his person to come back. They did not return, so he was taken to a local shelter. From there, he found himself in an amazing foster home where he lived with three other dogs and a cat. One of his friends was a three-legged hound dog with whom he loved to cuddle and wrestle with. As much as Brady’s foster family cared for him, they wanted him to find a family of his own, so he was included in a transfer that took him from Oklahoma to Iowa. Although we’ve only known Brady for a short time, it’s clear that he is a sweet dog who just wants to be loved. He enjoys running and playing outside but always stays close. He has a history of being very patient and gentle with children as well as other animals. He’s a smart boy who knows “sit” and “shake” and loves to show off his skills. Despite his sad beginning, Brady is a happy boy and hopes someone here will see what an amazing dog he is so his story will have a happy ending. HOW TO ADOPT: This pet is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this pet, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.---- Enjoys spending time with dogs who have a similar play style- Loves going on walks and does best with a harness- Loves to learn and has great focus - especially if you have treats - so would be a lot of fun to train - Prefers to explore and do their own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once they're in a home environment and have had time to decompress - Tends to be an introvert around other dogs and may prefer one-on-one interactions or smaller groups of dog friends; may not be comfortable at dog parks or at large, dog-friendly events (dog intro recommended) - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for them (mature home recommended)All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: White Secondary Color: Brindle Weight: 38 Age: 1yrs 5mths 2wks
