Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Duke! I am a charming, happy, Cattle Dog mix.  I love to go for walks  or runs  (and I am really good at it!). I also love car rides, stuffed animals, and playing in a fenced-in backyard. I am completely house trained,  crate trained ,  and am very intelligent. I know what sit, lay down , and stay mean, but I could use some more training to work on those commands and anything else you want to teach me.  I love to run and play; I have a whole lot of energy, but I also love to cuddle, give kisses and be loved by my human companion .  Basically, I just like to be doing what my people are.   I am very cautious of new people. I really prefer to come check you out first, and I really rather you don’t pet me until I know you will treat me with kindness.  I may  have to meet you a couple times before  I know I can trust you .   I can’t tell my friends at Last Hope what happened to me before I came to stay with them, but all they know is that it takes me a while to trust people and be comfortable in situations.  Because of this, I should not be in a home with young kids or teens.  My dream home would be with an adult family who is familiar with my kind of challenges and who has a physically fenced in yard. I also want 1 other playful dog around my size (50 pounds+) or bigger  to play with (I can play a little rough so they need to be tough like me) and a family who is very patient with me while I adjust to new people in my life.  I am a very loyal companion and I just want to please my humans!   Once I know I can trust you, I just want to be around you and will be your shadow as you go through your day.  I have also had my DNA tested! I am officially an Australian Cattle Dog/Harrier mix!    Last Hope requires that all pets be kept as indoor pets, be altered and current on vaccinations and preventatives. Our adoption process includes reference and vet checks and a home visit. The adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bear is a very handsome blue heeler, looking for an experienced dog owner to have a GREAT life with! Bear is super smart, and he loves to play with other dogs around his size. He requires a home with a playful and submissive canine companion near his size, he especially responds well to female dogs.  Bear is kennel trained as well as potty trained.  He loves to go for long walks and explore, he will make a superb companion for a very lucky owner! Bear does have stranger danger/reactive fears, he came to Last Hope very untrusting of people.  He has done great working with a firm and consistent handler, and will require this is his forever home but will likely always be initially reactive to strangers. Our volunteers have worked with him and found him to be a very friendly and affectionate dog, although he still requires slow and controlled introductions with strangers and will need an owner that appreciates his breed and unique needs.  No children, no cats and preferably a homeowner with a physical fenced in yard.  Bear's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, current vaccinations, and microchip.  last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor pets only, current on preventatives and vaccinations, and be altered.  Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and a home visit.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 4, 2024, 6:20 pm

Story
The sweet, sweet girl, Eden. As darling as can genuinely be, gentle-natured, and even-tempered; Eden steals hearts, and lots of treats! As we get to know more and more about her, she couldn't be anymore perfect! EdenLOVES other dogs, KIDS, and even cats! Just about anything willing to give her some loving & or playtime, Eden loves right in return. Though, she hasn't yet adjusted to the sudden shelter environment, she's a bit shy with strangers; but she warms up with only a couple treats, and gentle voices. At about 7 months old, Clove currently weighs in around 20 pounds; she's definitely on the smaller side of the Cattle dog family, making her that PERFECT size for just about any family! Plus, she adores showing off some of her awesome magic tricks, like 'where did my ears go?' anytime she gets a bit bashful, or even her 'part kangaroo' hopping around. She is a JOY to be around, let alone interact with. We cannot get enough of her.

Story
By far, this brown-eyed girl is a DOLL. Possibly one of the cutest to ever exist! Everly is basically a pint-sized puppy dog, and she couldn't be ANY better! Along with her petite size, gorgeous eyes, and the cutest grin; she's a sweetheart, through a through, her favorite thing to do with people are give kisses, cuddle, and snuggle at our feet. She makes for an amazing greeter-pooch as her wiggle butt couldn't get any quicker! Everly weighs about 20 pounds or so, at 8 months old, making her that PERFECT size! She's right at that size where she can join you anywhere, load herself up in the car, cuddle in bed, she doesn't mind! In fact, exploring, cuddling, and then sleeping is her day on repeat. She gets along with everything and everyone! We really can't get enough of her, and her wiggle butt! One of my favorite things about Everly is how she just MELTS as soon as she starts getting loved on, it's beyond adorable. Due to her great manners, known commands, leash walking skills, AND her crate-training/house-breaking, all of these skills making her SO easy to get home, and transition seamlessly into your life!

Story
Miss Nami! The happiest little heeler of all heelers; if her honey brown eyes don't steal your heart, her cuddles will. Her lopsided ears really just pull her personality all together, as goofy as can be. We know Nami will do phenomenally in most homes (meeting the below needs) spreading her love through kisses and cuddles EVERYWHERE she goes! Nami has gotten to spend some time in a foster home, and we know more about her now more than ever! This sweet girl is crate-trained, seemingly house-broken, leash-trained, but also can sleep outside the crate without any issues, has a pretty solid recall, LOVES snuggling more than we even imagined, prefers to sleep in bed with people, but is content in her kennel, as well. She's not destructive, and loves to play with stuffed toys. Nami has a one of a kind personality of a cattle dog, as she's content being lazy, but will also be up and ready for an adventure at moments notice. We honestly don't think having a dog gets much better than her! Especially at only 4.5 years old, and she loves cats! Since Nami was a stray, found likely after being struck by a vehicle, she's undergone an FHO surgery to correct her hip dislocation; however, when we got her, she was still incredibly emaciated. With that said, she has resource guarding tendencies and she will go after other dogs she feels threatened by. However, if they're willing to correct her, she does stop. The unfortunate side of her, is she definitely does NOT know just how small she is, and has no issue taking on a much larger dog. We will be offering free behavioral help to anyone wanting to successfully integrate her into their home, whether you have other dogs, or just want that peace of mind! Nami is currently Heartworm Positive, however, we've begun the pre-treatment stages, and she's scheduled for treatment late 2024, and early 2025, which we will be covering for any adopters.

Story
Bentley! The biggest snuggler around, his favorite spots are right in the crook of your arm, on your lap, or right at your feet; he will stay there for as long as you'll allow. He is the most content little man ever, only making a sound when he gets SUPER excited, but otherwise, he's just a lover. Bentley does love some playtime though, tug is 100% his favorite, but he can get down with swinging around stuffed toys, too! As handsome, and as lovable as they come, this mister man is a JOY. He will be sure to fill anyone's home with all the love that is needed! Bentley is already crate-trained, house-broken, and knows all of his basic commands! He is breezing right through puppy Pre-K and we couldn't be prouder of this boy! If you're looking for a full-time cuddler, and part-time player, Bentley aren't already! Just look at those big brown eyes! Did I mention that he LOVES dogs, kids, and even cats?! We ADORE him, and his stumpy little tail!
