***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Hello!  My name is Piper, and I lost my owner sadly, so I am looking for a new person to protect and shadow!  I am very cautious with men but am willing to work on it if you are. But if you're a single gal looking for a companion and guardian, I'm your girl. Cats are not my favorite unless they liked to be chased.  If I am displeased, I will let you know and will tell you all about the transgression with my wide range of vocalizations.  I won't potty in the house and I don't like to share my treats with anyone.  My foster brother is not very easy to get along with (but he's really kinda a grump) but I don't mind the company of my foster sisters.   If you are in need of a shadow that will protect you from all of the things plus snuggle on your lap for movie night, I am your girl!  I am 3 years old, a stout 37 pounds, spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $275.00 and I'm worth every penny! November 4, 2024, 8:52 pm

Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Roscoe and his sister Lila were found abandoned in the countryside.  A kind person took them in so that we could find them each a home to call their own.  Her dogs helped teach the pups the ropes of being good dogs and they are learning more everyday.  Roscoe is outgoing, rambunctious, brave and affectionate.  Lila is sweet, mild, timid and affectionate.  Both pups love other dogs.  They do tend to have a strong prey drive and while there are no cats on the property they do chase other small creatures.  They will need a fair amount of exercise and mental stimulation because they appear to be of the herding group.  Both pups are very good about staying on the property even off leash.  The pups were likely born early summer 2024 and are altered, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  Their adoption fee is $300.00 November 18, 2024, 5:55 pm

Story
***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** While we know there is no such thing as a perfect puppy Miss Arabella comes pretty darn close! After being attacked by a group of big dogs she found her way to a playground at a school on the PineRidge reservation.  There the staff and children quickly knew to call LightShine Canine so those ladies could get her to a veterinarian asap.  Ara spent a couple of days in a vet clinic but the light was going out of her eyes.  Lightshine knows we specialize in the medical cases and we have been very fortunate to have saved many a little soul with care from the humans and love and cuddles from the Director's crew of accepting furkids who all seem to know their role in life is to give comfort to the many others that come in broken or shut down. After only a short time hanging out with the team of critters, Ara's eyes had their sparkle back and it just took time for her little body to heal the many wounds.  She is now about 6 months old and a spunky pup ready for her next big adventure in life....to find her very own forever family! Ara gets along with dogs, cats and kids would likely be a big hit for this fun little girl.  She is gentle, well behaved, house trained, kennel trained, rides nicely in a car and will entertain herself if given a basket of toys.  She is not destructive although she loves a good chew bone and to dig a nice hole in the yard! She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped and full of love!   December 18, 2024, 12:01 am

Story
Hi my name is Suki. I am around 3 years old and I am a Heeler mix. I came to Almost Home because I need a home with no young kids and no other pets. My favorite thing to do is go hiking and I LOVE water. I would make someone a great kayaking buddy. I have a lot of energy that I need to burn off daily. I am current on vaccines, negative for heartworm, and microchipped
