Story
*Please read full bio before applying* Meet Sweetie! This adorable older puppy is seeking her perfect fit. Poor Sweetie has been through a lot in her short life. She was found as a young puppy on the streets of South Texas next to her deceased brother who had sadly been hit by a car. She went to foster care where she thrived with older children, cats, and dogs. Sweetie is a homebody dog. She really enjoys relaxing in her space with her person. She is crate trained, dog door trained, potty trained, and is trustworthy in the home alone. Sweetie needs a family that is committed to her and will stick by her. Sadly she has been let down by humans for her entire life and is ready for her new family to show her the calmer, and more understanding side of life. Sweetie's ideal life would be someone that works from home or is retired. She enjoys other dogs, but resource guards food, so applicants with other dogs would need to show they're prepared to feed her separately until she learns there isn't a shortage of food or treats. Although Sweetie has done well with cats in the past, we are seeking placement without cats to try to make the best possible match. Sweetie would thrive as an only dog as well. She loves to play with her stuffies, and would benefit from training for confidence building when it comes to going for walks or outings. Sweetie tends to be nervous around kids, she's very much a dog that would enjoy a teenager or adult only household. She also needs a yard, apartment living isn't the best match for her. Sweetie is a wonderful and smart dog with a mellow and loving demeanor. Sweetie is fostered near Olympia, WA. Please start with the adoption application: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
Meet Lucy! At 2.5-3 years old, Lucy comes with good manners and a love for older children! Lucy joined our rescue when she was a puppy, but recently got into a scuffle with her doggy sibling, the family chose to return Lucy. Lucy is a happy and energetic dog that would love lots of exercise. Lucy enjoys toys and going for outings. She has always enjoyed playing with her doggy sibling as well. Since we don't know the cause of the scuffle, we are aiming to set Lucy up for success by requesting that she is the only pet in the home. This doesn't mean she can't go for social outings where there are other dogs. With big puppy eyes like hers, who else do you need anyways?! Lucy LOVES kids, she adores the grandkids that visit. Lucy is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines. Apply here: freedomboundhounds.com/adopt

Story
Miss Ellie was found walking across a busy highway in Caldwell, Idaho, on July 20, 2024. Efforts to find her people came up empty, and on Aug. 3 she delivered seven pups. Vets estimate her age to be somewhere between 1-2 years old. She weighs 38 pounds. Wisdom Panel DNA on one of the puppies revealed 77% Australian cattle dog, single-digit percentages of Mini-American Shepherd, Border Collie, Golden Retriever, Australian Shepherd, Collie. It is safe to say that Ellie is primarily Australian cattle dog. Ellie is housetrained, crate trained, quite affectionate and happy, thoroughly enjoys other dogs, leaves cats to themselves; although, she will chase if they run. She hunts like a fox or coyote, hearing the slightest movement in alfalfa fields/grasses and pouncing. Ellie is an active dog and enjoys her daily outings. She is housetrained and desires to be near her people as much as possible—even wants to be touching someone while she sleeps. Ellie's adoption fee is $350 and includes spay and vaccines. Born Aug. 3, 2024. South Fork is one of seven Australian cattle dog mix puppies. Wisdom Panel DNA showed 77% Australian Cattle Dog, single-digit% Mini-American Shepherd, Border Collie, Golden Retriever, Australian Shepherd, trace% Collie. At the time of photos, Oct. 13, 2024, South Fork weighed 14.5 pounds. His nickname morphed from talk about the T-shaped “brand” on his back. Soft, affectionate, playful, and gentle, South Fork generally acts more like a Golden Retriever than a typical ACD. He loves to cuddle, explore, play, enjoy close companionship. He’s intelligent and intuitive, almost house trained already, wants to please people. South Fork needs someone who will meet his gaze with as much affection as he shows in his brown eyes, give him enriching adventures, and nurture his trust. He would love to share a home with a caring adult dog as a mentor. South Fork’s adoption fee is $300 and an additional deposit of $200 will be refunded upon proof of neuter, which is a requirement when he is between the ages of 6 and 12 months. Arroway is a male puppy born August 3, 2024. Wisdom Panel DNA showed 77% Australian Cattle Dog, single-digit% Mini-American Shepherd, Border Collie, Golden Retriever, Australian Shepherd, trace% Collie. At the time of the photos in late October, 2024, Arroway weighed apx 15 pounds. There’s a lot going on in this pup. He’s extra smart like his mom, possesses extra big feelings, exuberance for life and love. While it may be challenging for someone to keep him challenged mentally and physically while helping burn off excess energy, the rewards will be amazing. He already has a personal trainer for all these things and is doing quite well, so if the right person can grab the baton and run with him, his race will be a successful one. He loves people and soaks up adoration. He wants to play with patient adult dogs.Arroway knows how to shut things down after a good workout and snuggles right in with his person or some good toys. Story
Bo is a very sweet and loving dog. He is 2y8m old, neutered, up to date on all shots and microchipped. We adopted him 8 months ago. We are looking for a loving, energetic and patient family for Bo. Recently, our older male dog has become aggressive with Bo and we worry he might get hurt. Bo is somewhat timid. He does get along well with other dogs and people. May be a little timid at first, but warms up quickly We have tried several ways to combat his behavior of having accidents in our home. Often times, he is leery about going outside and when he comes back in, he has been known to pee and/or poop. We do not know how to stop this from happening. Our dogs have full access to a large fenced back yard and are allowed anywhere inside our home. We try our best to insure they have a safe and loving home. We feel like Bo is not particularly happy being with us. I do not have photos of Bo on my computer but can send by text or email.
