Story
Jack is a 1 year old Australian Cattle Labrador mix. He’s a sweet boy who love to receive cuddles. Soft plushie toys are his favorite in keeping calm and he enjoys a good rubber ball or rope toy to throw around by himself. He loves to run and we are looking to rehome with someone who can give him that. He’s smart and would benefit from a bit of training. He can get a little territorial so he would do best as an only pet. We love him so much but realize he would do better in home with a yard versus an apartment. He also started exhibiting littermate syndrome towards one his brothers and we are trying to prevent it from escalating further. He’s very sweet and loving.

Story
This precious girl came from one of the worst hoarding situations that we have ever dealt with. there were over 100 dogs on the property, none of them spayed or neutered. Finally, the authorities went in and they managed to get ALL of the dogs out of there. Filthy dirty situation, sick puppies, you name it. We choose to take Blossom home to our rescue because her eyes were begging us for love and attention. She was very pregnant and two weeks after arriving, she gave birth to 7 heathy puppies! Every single puppy was different, every singe puppy had a different daddy! We think that Blossom had never been paid any attention to because she was so shy. Once we weaned her babies we took her out of the nursery and into the house where she just blossomed! That's how she got her name! Her puppies have long since been adopted and now it's her turn. We actually did a DNA on her and it came back with 4 different breeds, which we kind of figured from the beginning. Australian Cattle Dog, Labrador Retriever, Pit Bull, Boxer. Yes, she is truly a "Mutt!: She is extremely smart and will do anything for a treat. I want her to have a nice fenced yard with lots of room to run. Cattle dogs are working dogs and they need lots of exercise! She is spayed, crate trained, fully vaccinated, microchipped and house broken, truly a gem! Ready for immediate transport. ADOPTION FEE $400 PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION!

Story
This handsome red heeler mix puppy is called Ernie and he and his brother Bert and their mom were found in a barn where they had been raised by their stray mother. Their mother was barely hanging on to life. The happy ending to her story is she is living with a wonderful family now and is loved and Ernie is looking for a wonderful family too raise him, love him, and bring his own special joy to. Ernie is a really delightful and well adjusted 6-month-old puppy that weighs 26 lb. He is a friendly little guy that enjoys meeting people and loves to chase a ball and bring it back to you. His innocence and love for life is contagious. He craves being with people that like him and speak kind words to him. He will crawl in your lap and be your best little buddy. His foster mom who raised he and his brother Bert says that he has the best temperament and personality. Recently this little guy went to a yoga class at the YMCA and had so much fun. It was a totally new and unique environment and he handled it with great poise and embraced all of the Zen vibes going on. Ernie is housebroken, crate trained, loves being around other cats and dogs alike and adores children. There isn't a living creature on this earth that he doesn't like. He is learning quite well,  how to walk on a leash and he rides in a car like a pro. He would be a great dog to take for hikes, long walks, outdoor events and adventures, and of course he would be a hit at any family reunions. Ernie is ready to call a family and their home his very own. If you are interested in making Ernie your perfect little sidekick in life, Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 19, 2024, 12:02 pm

Ginger's mom was a very good friend to all of us here at the rescue. When she unexpectedly passed away, we took this sweet girl in immediately and she has been a joy to have around. Our friend had a bit of a heavy hand with the treats and Ginger was waaaay over weight! We put her on a diet right away and she is now slim and trim and ready to go to her forever home. Don't let her age hold you back, she is VERY active and healthy. Heart worm negative, crate trained, house broken and just a delight. She's fine with all dogs, kids and cats. She acts like a puppy and just loves to run and play. Let's give her a chance at a forever home! Please contact Paul Slebzak (pauls@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Sweet girl looking for her forever home! JENNIE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:    Jennie       Best Guess for Breed:    Red Heeler/Australian Cattle Dog mix    Best Guess for Age:    5 years as of June 2024       Gender:    Female Approximate Weight:    40 lbs as of Nov 2024 - she probably needs to lose few pounds Gets Along With: Other dogs, and lives with a cat!  We haven’t seen Jennie with kids, but we can find out.  Currently Living At: DC area foster home Special Adoption Considerations: Jennie is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!Jennie arrived at the shelter with a badly injured right front leg. It has been amputated. She does require medication to alleviate some of the symptoms of what we think is some arthritis.  Jennie is Looking For: Meet Jennie, a spirited and resilient 5-year-old female Red Heeler with a heart full of love and a spirit that refuses to be dampened by adversity. Despite having a partially amputated front leg, Jennie’s zest for life is unmistakable. She navigates her world with remarkable agility and joy, always eager for new adventures and opportunities to explore. Her stunning red coat and expressive eyes are just the beginning of her charm – Jennie’s affectionate nature and playful personality make her a delightful companion for anyone looking to add a touch of joy to their lives. What My Foster Says About Me: Sweet, sweet Jennie despite everything she has been through is the sweetest dog we’ve ever cared for. She looks at you with these sweet, innocent puppy dog eyes that melt your soul. She deserves nothing more than a soft girl life, filled with endless love, blankets, and healthy treats. She’s settles into her crate effortlessly, gets along with all dogs (also loves our cat), and is the goodest girl! She’s amazing on leash and is very responsive to any redirections you may give. All she wants to do is please you and be your loving companion, with hopes you’ll love her in return. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Sweet Bluebelle At a little over a year old, this Australian cattle dog/retriever mix is a sweet and cheerful girl that loves to play and never gets tired of chasing frisbees. She loves kids and other dogs but can get too rough for small dogs at times. She would do best in a home without cats. Bluebelle has a great personality and can charm over anyone she meets. She is extremely loving. She would enjoy adventures or just to be a snuggle partner. You will defiantly love coming home to this beauty's smile. She is fully vetted, microchipped and can be sent your way via ground transport or adopted locally. She is located in Texas

Story
She’s the sweetest girl I just need to focus on my life or I’ll never be able to get anywhere. If interested I’d be open to taking her back any time or we can set up a date a year or two from now. I love her so so much I just don’t enjoy the feeling of having a child and that’s what dogs are constantly playing and taking her to the park. It’s just too much for me to do day in and day out and I want to feed her a good diet of raw food but I just can’t afford is she STILL acts like a puppy but can’t handle it for the most part so I know she need mental stimulation that I don’t even give to myself maybe I can find a happy medium but rn I’m a recluse who goes to work and goes home I never do anything for myself that’s enjoyable for me. So spending time with her feels like a job and I hate that. I buy her toys and chews but if I hate doing it I know it’ll never be fun for her. Please if anyone can help co parent I’d appreciate it.

He's an outgoing pup who adores meeting new people and making furry friends. However, Tex prefers to be the sole dog in his household, and he kindly requests a cat-free environment, too! He will also be too much for small children. If there are kids in the home they should be 10 yrs or older. One of Tex's favorite pastimes is going for car rides, his tail wagging with excitement as he embarks on adventures with his beloved humans. Plus, he's mastered the art of crate training, willingly retreating to his cozy den upon command.Although Tex is an active fellow, he's adaptable and could happily reside in an apartment setting as long as he receives ample exercise and mental stimulation. He's hoping to find a home with someone experienced in handling dogs, someone who understands his needs and is ready to embark on this journey with him.Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.           Adoption fees cover basic vetting, spay/neuter surgery (at partner vet if not fixed before adoption), rabies, distemper/parvo vaccinations, treatment for worms, heartworm testing, monthly heartworm prevention and monthly flea/tick prevention (while the animal is in our care), and transport costs from high-kill shelter. Please note that on average, K-9 Lifesavers spend significantly more on each dog than their adoption fee. Adoption fee for HW positive dog also covers heartworm treatment at our partner vets. Foster Program:    Foster homes provide for the temporary care of a rescue until the dog is placed into a loving, forever home.  For more information on becoming a foster parent, and our Foster Program, visit  http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/foster/  or email our Foster Coordinator at  foster@k-9lifesavers.orgSponsor Me!    Make a  tax-deductible donation  today by visiting us at http://www.k-9lifesavers.org/donate/  . Story
Meet Mooney! He is an incredibly smart, 48 lb, 5 year old cattle dog mix who was given up by his previous owner due to her illness. He loves people, fetching/catching balls and sticks, playing with his doggie friends and being a goofball. The sofa is his favorite piece of furniture, but he will settle in a crate, on a cool wood floor, lounge in a water trough or snooze in the car. In spite of being nearly middle-aged, he still has lots of bounce and energy to run, jump and explore. He has been introduced to some agility work, and caught on right away. Being food-motivated, training is a breeze. Mooney knows Sit, Wait, Down, Crate, Roll Over & Come. He has the intelligence and focus of a cattle dog, but mostly seeks the affection and companionship of his people. Mooney will need a large fenced yard or property to keep his active brain engaged and humans with time to keep him exercised and entertained. He is a confident dude who would love to live with other playful, balanced dogs or be an only dog. Mooney is house and crate trained and will stay right by your side on a leash if you have a bag full of treats! Mooney is neutered and up-to-date on vaccines. The adoption fee for this dog is $425 which includes routine vetting and spay/neuter. PetConnect Rescue cannot guarantee the exact breed of any animal in our care. Holly is a female pure breed Australian Shepherd, from California. I adapted her as a puppy in February 2021. She has lived in many different environments, including a city apartment, house, and briefly on a 14 acre farm. She is mostly adapted to apartments but would love an open yard or space to run in. She is great with children and incredibly loving, friendly, and gentle. She does not need “special attention” but she does need a lot of love and affection. I have struggled to give her the best attention and care since moving to D.C. for work and separating from my partner.

Story
Lora Lee is a very sweet dog that is just 2 years old and weighs 42 pounds.  She is said to be an Aussie mix with some Terrier.  Whatever the mix is we think she is a most unusual and truly a beautiful girl who well with other dogs in her foster home.  She is a friend to all and apparently she is house trained as long as taken out regular. Lola Lee is crate trained but cannot be left for long hours in the crate.  She is not leash trained  but is trying to improve.   We are requesting that applicants have a fenced yard for her because she is an active girl that needs to run and play with freedom and not at the end of a leash only. This beauty loves to cuddle and be by your side like your BFF and shadow. If you have another dog that would be great for her to have a playmate that can help her wear out her energy every day.  Lola Lee is a great girl and she is going to need an active family that can challenge and meet her need for exercise and be able to keep up with her.   She is really not a dog for a retirement couple that are ready to have a more laidback dog with fewer exercise demands.  If you are interested in this girl please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 11, 2024, 7:28 pm
