Please contact Sarah Maraschky (sarahm@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet boy ISO fresh start and love! BUCK NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:   Buck      Best Guess for Breed: Cattle dog and heeler mix  Best Guess for Age: 2.5 years as of November 2024     Gender:Male Approximate Weight:   40 lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them.  Currently Living At: Lucky Dog's South Carolina rescue campus; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get up here after completing heartworm treatment Special Adoption Considerations: Buck is heartworm positive, but this Lucky Dog got extra lucky! This pup is part of a groundbreaking study we are conducting at our South Carolina Rescue Campus that has the potential to change the way shelters across the United States treat heartworm positive dogs.  All dogs in the study are placed at random in either the 2 shot or 3 shot protocol with strictly monitored protocols in place. Four weeks following their final injection, the pups are eligible to transport to the DC area for placement in foster or adoptive care.  After treatment concludes, we work with adopters to arrange a free follow up heartworm test after 6 months, followed by a second test at 9 months.  We are happy to discuss this treatment and which phase of the study this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left! Buck is Looking For: His forever home! Through no fault of his own, this sweetie ended up in the shelter. He's eagerly looking forward to once again having his own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up.    Buck has those penetrating eyes that suck you in and he's got that solid presence. And he promises to always keep that solid presence right by your side - he wants nothing more than to be a loyal companion and know he's safe and loved in exchange. What do you say? Is he the one for your home and your heart?   What My Foster Says About Me: We will update this once he has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with his foster Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog Lucky Dog Animal Rescue does our best to provide accurate information about the dogs we have for adoption. Story
Ginger's mom was a very good friend to all of us here at the rescue. When she unexpectedly passed away, we took this sweet girl in immediately and she has been a joy to have around. Our friend had a bit of a heavy hand with the treats and Ginger was waaaay over weight! We put her on a diet right away and she is now slim and trim and ready to go to her forever home. Don't let her age hold you back, she is VERY active and healthy. Heart worm negative, crate trained, house broken and just a delight. She's fine with all dogs, kids and cats. She acts like a puppy and just loves to run and play. Let's give her a chance at a forever home! PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $250

Story
This handsome little heeler mix guy is called Megatron aka hoss and he and his siblings were left in a Rubbermaid blue plastic bin outside of a rural shelter in small town Tennessee. This litter of four precious puppies were not healthy at the time, but Critter Cavalry Rescue has made sure that they have gotten the best in vet care and wonderful food. This little guy has a 10-year-old boy to play with and a  adult Heeler dog along with his siblings. At just 11 weeks, he is 15 lbs. and robust and looking for adventure every minute of the day. He has the biggest personality and also is the biggest of the litter of four. He's a little puppy that is looking for good play sessions with other dogs and humans and some special chill time to chew on the special bones he is given by his foster mom. Soft beds are definitely inviting for him to cuddle and having you pick him up is a great comfort too. He is smart and of course with that comes the inquisitive nature of investigating everything in the backyard and the house. Megatron likes to know where his people are but he is also very content to find his own comfy spot to chill out. He is being potty trained and leash trained as we speak. Everyday he learns a little more. If you were looking for an active puppy that will be fun to train then Megatron is your guy. He will be a 45 lb adult dog when fully grown. Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com And please mention the city and state that you live in. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comNovember 7, 2024, 10:11 pm

Please contact Lowell Nelson (lowelln@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.young boy ready to play! AUSTIN NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Austin and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (Nov. 17th) from 12-3 pm at the Petsmart in Falls Church (6100 Arlington Blvd, Falls Church, VA 22044)!   Name: Austin       Best Guess for Breed: Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix, maybe some Aussie too Best Guess for Age:  1 year 3 months as of October 2024       SEX:   Male   Approximate Weight:  32 lbs   Gets Along With:    Other dogs! We haven't seen him with kids or cats but he can be tested if you have them.   Currently Living at:  DC Area foster home   Follow me on instagram at: @happy.foster.pups.   Austin is Looking For:   His forever family! Look at his great markings and coloring, probably some heeler heritage.   Austin is looking for regular activity and plenty of enrichment. He would love an adopter who loves being active as much as he does and wants a buddy for fun adventures, once he has settled in and feels comfortable.   Most of all, he wants to know he's safe and loved, where he belongs, and upon whom to bestow all his adoring gazes and happy tail wags. What do you say? Is Austin the one you see by your side? What My Foster Says About Me:  Austin is a very sweet boy. He’s very timid and unsure of new people and places but he’s showing signs that he’s learning to trust people again. He likes to know where you are around the house but isn’t super affectionate [so far]…. He does get along well with our household dogs.   7 Nov Foster update:   While he is still timid, he has become much more affectionate. He loves couch cuddles and will walk up to you and ask for pets! Sometimes he still sleeps under the bed but he has become much more interested in sleeping IN it! 17 Nov foster update:   Hets along with my dogs and took only half a day to start running around with my active one, and this morning is actively playing.  When not playing, he is a very good boy and lays down quietly while I work....good at adapting to new environments, not dominant.  Really sweet boy.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter. That is a working breed, bred to run all day. Once Oreo has recovered completely from heartworm treatment, oh, he will need plenty of physical and mental enrichment! Walks and time in the yard alone - nope, that's not gonna work for him.  He's looking for an active home where he gets to move - and think - plenty. He will be an awesome companion for someone looking for just this type of pup. Meet him and see if he's a match for you!
