Story
Meet Dingo, our spirited 4-year-old Australian Cattle Dog with a big personality packed into her 29-pound frame! True to her breed, Dingo has a good amount of energy, but with regular walks and mental stimulation, she’s happy to relax. Her vibrant red coat reflects her lively spirit, making her a wonderful companion for a household that enjoys a mix of activity and downtime.Dingo absolutely loves a good game of fetch, which tires her out quickly and leaves her ready for some snuggle time. Dingo is incredibly smart, always ready for a challenge, and eager to learn. She is already housetrianed, knows some commands, and has leash manners! Dingo's previous owner mentioned that she really enjoyed the company of children. She does have a strong prey drive, so she’ll need a home without small animals. While her ideal home is one without other canine companions, who needs another dog when Dingo has so much love to give? She’s a cuddle bug at heart, showering her humans with affection and attention! If you’re an active person or family looking for a smart, loyal, and affectionate companion, Dingo might be the perfect match for you! If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: acskc.org/adoption/adoption-applicationOnce your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! Please contact Jim at 410-441-0866 (jim@fur-everpaws.com) for more information about this pet.  This dog is located in Elkton, MD. Visit us on the web at https://fur-everpaws.com/fur-ever-paws-adoption-application to submit an application. Please contact the foster directly at 410-920-3166 (text or call) or via email at Fureverpawsdogrescue@gmail.com Fur Ever Paws Dog Rescue is a small no kill rescue operating in the Delaware/Maryland area. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit that rescues and places homeless, neglected or abused dogs from high-kill shelters in the south into loving, responsible committed and permanent homes. We feel our comprehensive adoption process which includes not only taking the time to match the dog to the prospective new owner but helping to educate that owner in responsible dog care, allows us to find the best homes for our little buddies and the best companions for you! Each week we use USDA certified transports to bring dogs from high-kill shelters in the south to our fosters where they all receive the appropriate medical care and are placed in nurturing loving homes while they await placement in their forever homes. Interested in one of our dogs? Great! Now that you've seen them here, you'll need to go to our website where you'll find our list of adoptable dogs (updated every week). Then, it's just a simple process of finding a dog you're interested in and filling out an application on our site. Once we receive your application, whoever is fostering that particular dog will contact you and do a short over the phone interview to complete your application process. If everything works out, they will set an appointment with you so come out and "visit" with the dog you're interested in (we want to make sure that not only are you a good fit for the dog but that the dog will fit with you). If everything works out, you'll be able to take rover (or spot, or jax) home with you that very day. A couple of things you should know: We can't hold dogs over the phone or via email. Adoption fees vary based on breed. All of our dogs have been vet checked and dewormed (if possible due to age, additional treatment may be needed). We provide a spay or neuter voucher to all of our adopters. &#226&#128&#139 November 3, 2024, 3:53 pm

Story
ABOUT GARTH Ready to have some fun?! Come meet our playful, goofy guy Garth! He is a 9-month-old cattle dog mix who could not be more true to the breed, as he has a go-go-go personality! Garth came to HAP from a high-intake shelter in Alabama when they no longer had space for him. Despite being at the shelter, this guy is full of life! In true heeler fashion, he is a high-energy, active pup looking for a job to do. Garth would make the perfect running or walking buddy, as he loves spending time outside. He LOVES toys and is very food-motivated, making the training possibilities endless! When he's not chasing a toy around our fenced fields, he can usually be found patiently waiting by his kennel door for some attention. After some exercise and play, he melts into a laid-back snuggle bug! Garth already knows some basic commands and walks well with a harness. We are working on his manners, as he can be jumpy or nippy at times, though he always means well. Due to this, he would probably do best in a home with older kids who can understand he means no harm! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Remo! This warrior miracle knows his forever family will come. Is it you? Here is a reminder of this guy’s story…When he was only several weeks old, he was found in a ditch, dragging his hind quarters, possibly due to being hit by a car. Sadly, this little guy was left to die. Stray Network stepped up, rescued him, gave him a name and a chance. It was determined that Remo needed extensive surgeries to repair compressed discs in his spine and a severely broken back leg. In the months that he has been with us, he’s gone from being paralyzed to walking and even running short distances. Remo is consistently working hard to regain strength and to heal nerve damage in his back legs. This is done by having him up and walking around the house or yard. He is one determined, treat motivated guy! Remo loves attention from people. He enjoys playing with other dogs. He is good on a leash and is able to take short, leisurely walks. His forever family should realize that while he does have limitations, he is still healing and it’s beneficial to have him continue to work on moving and strengthening his back legs. No doubt he will his show his forever family lots of love and bring happiness to their lives. Remo is neutered and fully vetted! To apply for Remo, visit straynetwork.org

Story
This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn.
