Story
Meet Mou, a big handsome boy whose a little shy but has a lot of love to give when he opens up to you. Mou is patient, loving, and would prefer a home where he has a window to look outside and a bed to snuggle in. Mou is great with our whole family, including our 5-year-old, however he is a little shy but once he knows you he’ll come out of his shell. He’s handsome and loves his humans. Once Mou warms up, you can look forward to him caressing your face or arms while you snuggle! He’s so darn sweet! Mou’s original owner sadly had to leave him behind when he moved but he made sure he had a place to stay with us before he left instead of a shelter. It’s really important to us to find Mou the stable and forever home that he deserves. Mou has lived with another cat before living with us, we have not witnessed personally how he is with other cats but we would assume he would enjoy a companion as he currently seeks out our dog to play.

Story
Lucys baby is a great companion. Very spunky and curious. She is my cats daughter. Unfortunately my cat doesn’t accept her daughter too much now, she rejects her and gets angry a lot at her. For her safety I would like to find a loving family that can keep her safe and loved.

Story
What's that rumble? Oh, it's Bumble! This playful boy loves to chase his ball around and be a wild cat. A rough and rowdy player, Bumble would do well with the company of another young and playful cat (for him to stalk and surprise!) or oppositely, an old, relaxed cat who won't mind his antics. Two years old and full of beans, he can't be picked up, needs his own space and will tell you, "No thank you" but far less politely. However, if you want to drag a string or feather around or throw his ball than he'll happily spend all day with you. Bumble is neutered and current on all shots, ready for his new home. If you've got room in your heart for an energetic wild-man who plays by his own rules and requires you follow them too, then take a chance on Bumble and make your appointment to meet him today. He is not the biggest fan of other cats, and does not like dogs, but he loves the attention he gets from people. Bumble is a 2-year-old neutered male For more information on Bumble, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for an application Adoption Fees for Senior cats (8yrs and up) is $50 Adult Cats $200 and Kittens under a year $250.

Story
Meet Eleanor, a stunning 10-year-old tabby with a gentle heart and a longing for a quiet, loving home. Her journey hasn’t been easy—after her male owner passed away and her female owner moved into assisted living, Eleanor and six other cats found themselves at the shelter. The sudden loss of her family left Eleanor feeling shut down and heartbroken, but her resilient spirit touched everyone who met her. Now thriving in her foster home, Eleanor has begun to show her true, sweet personality. She enjoys exploring her surroundings, crafting perfect biscuits with her paws, and curling up in her tower for peaceful naps. Eleanor is wonderfully expressive—she’ll greet you with meows when she sees you or when she’s ready for her next delicious meal. Her affectionate nature makes her a delight to have around, especially for someone who spends a lot of time at home, as she thrives on companionship and your presence. While Eleanor previously lived with other cats, she’s made it clear she prefers to be the queen of her castle and would do best as your only pet. She tolerates the dogs in her foster home but would be happiest in a home where all the attention is hers to soak up. Eleanor is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter filled with love and comfort. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion to share your days, Eleanor would love to meet you! Her adoption fee is $200 and Eleanor is vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and spayed. She also qualifies for our Senior-to-Senior program so if you're 60 years or older, you can adopt her for just $150. Story
I acquired Max from an in-law who passed away recently. I am not exactly sure how old he is but know he is not a kitten. He is a peaceful cat, extremely loveable and loves all the attention he can get. He enjoys begging for human food at dinner time, absolutely loves eating shrimp with his humans. I'm looking for someone who can give him the attention and love that he demands.

Story
Freddie was found as a stray with multiple bite wounds on his body. Because of his wounds he needed to be isolated for a very long time. He is now ready for a home and is very anxious because he is still in the shelter. He really wants out!! He is a bit nervous but loves to be petted once he trusts you. He will need a quiet home with a patient person who will give him time to adjust. He would be great in a home as an only cat. Freddie does have FIV but FIV cats can live just as long as any cat without FIV.

Story
Birdie is a stray that is currently being fostered in CT. She’s up to date on her shots and is spayed. She did test positive for FeLV but the vet recommended retesting in 3-6 months in case of a false positive. Birdie would need to be a solo cat or with other FeLV positive cats. She’s very affectionate, loves to play, gets along with our dog and is a total sweetheart. She loves cuddling and being held. She would make a great pet. We have lots of cat supplies to go with her if needed: litterbox, bed, toys, bowls.
