Story
May the force be with you! Meet Leia, a four-month-old tabby with a soft, beautifully striped coat and a loving spirit. She and her brother, Luke, were born to a stray mama cat who had several litters before a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in to help. The idea to just leave them outside and make them barn cats was considered, but thankfully, they decided to surrender Leia and Luke over to us to ensure they found loving homes. While Luke was just adopted, Leia is now ready to start her next chapter! The more reserved of the two siblings, Leia is a shy but incredibly affectionate kitten. She loves to be petted and held, finding comfort in the gentle touch of a caring hand. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality truly shines. Like any young cat, Leia delights in playtime—chasing toys and exploring new surroundings bring out her kitten energy and curiosity. Leia is friendly with everyone she meets and gets along well with other cats. Kitties help bring her comfort and build her confidence so she MUST be adopted to a home with another cat. She’s still warming up to the dogs in her foster home, so she would do best in a calm environment where she can take her time getting used to canine companions. This little beauty is purrfect for a family looking for a loving, playful, and snuggly addition to their home. Her adoption fee is $250 and Leia is vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and will be spayed next month. Story
Meet Eleanor, a stunning 10-year-old tabby with a gentle heart and a longing for a quiet, loving home. Her journey hasn’t been easy—after her male owner passed away and her female owner moved into assisted living, Eleanor and six other cats found themselves at the shelter. The sudden loss of her family left Eleanor feeling shut down and heartbroken, but her resilient spirit touched everyone who met her. Now thriving in her foster home, Eleanor has begun to show her true, sweet personality. She enjoys exploring her surroundings, crafting perfect biscuits with her paws, and curling up in her tower for peaceful naps. Eleanor is wonderfully expressive—she’ll greet you with meows when she sees you or when she’s ready for her next delicious meal. Her affectionate nature makes her a delight to have around, especially for someone who spends a lot of time at home, as she thrives on companionship and your presence. While Eleanor previously lived with other cats, she’s made it clear she prefers to be the queen of her castle and would do best as your only pet. She tolerates the dogs in her foster home but would be happiest in a home where all the attention is hers to soak up. Eleanor is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter filled with love and comfort. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion to share your days, Eleanor would love to meet you! Her adoption fee is $200 and Eleanor is vaccinated, FIV/FELV negative, microchipped, and spayed. She also qualifies for our Senior-to-Senior program so if you're 60 years or older, you can adopt her for just $150. If you're interested in this beauty, please fill out an application at https://form.jotform.com/201805462692153. For questions, email info@happilyfureverafter.org.

Story
Angela came to us from a house that had just a few too many cats! Not that she minded. Frankly Angela thinks cats make much better companions then people. She's still adjusting to the shelter and would fit well into a quieter home with multiple cats. She's just under a year old, spayed and up to date with her vaccines. She may be shy but that just makes it more rewarding when she settles in and opens up. It can take time but is so worth it in the end. For more information on Angela, call AWS at 860-354-1350 email animalwelfare.socty@snet.net or visit our website aws-shelter.org for an application Adoption Fees for Senior cats (8yrs and up) is $50 Adult Cats $200 and Kittens under a year $250.

Story
What's that rumble? Oh, it's Bumble! This playful boy loves to chase his ball around and be a wild cat. A rough and rowdy player, Bumble would do well with the company of another young and playful cat (for him to stalk and surprise!) or oppositely, an old, relaxed cat who won't mind his antics. Two years old and full of beans, he can't be picked up, needs his own space and will tell you, "No thank you" but far less politely. However, if you want to drag a string or feather around or throw his ball than he'll happily spend all day with you. Bumble is neutered and current on all shots, ready for his new home. If you've got room in your heart for an energetic wild-man who plays by his own rules and requires you follow them too, then take a chance on Bumble and make your appointment to meet him today. He is not the biggest fan of other cats, and does not like dogs, but he loves the attention he gets from people.
