Story
Meet Kali, our adorable young cat! She’s the perfect companion—cute, cuddly, and full of charm. Kali’s soft, silky fur makes her an absolute delight to snuggle with, and she’s especially sweet with us, her favorite humans. While she has a bit of a selective streak when it comes to other people, she’s the queen of kindness in our home. Whether she’s curling up in our laps or simply being her lovable self, Kali has a way of making every day better with her gentle and affectionate nature.

Story
Hello… I have 2 sister cats named Amber and Hazel. They are the sweetest and funniest cats ever. Amber is the outgoing cat and Hazel is the shy cat. Hazel has a fascination with water. She loves to watch running water. They are house cats. They are 5 1/2 to 6 years old. I love them very much!!! ❤️❤️❤️ Unfortunately, I have to find a new home for them because my elderly mother and disabled sister is coming to live with me so I can help them. This is very hard to do! My mom and sister are not steady on their feet and I’m afraid they may fall if they are walking around them. I don’t want my mom and sister or the cats to get hurt. Also, my house isn’t big enough for all of us. They are up to date on all their shots and I can give you their shot records. If you can help me I will be forever grateful!!! 💕💕💕

Story
Hello, my name is Jewel. I am a sweet tabby cat here at the Ark Animal Shelter. I came to the shelter in August 2024 with my four little kittens. I took good care of them and they were all adopted. Since then I have been spayed and received all my shots and am micro-chipped. The vet thinks I am about a year and a half old. I love people and am a friendly lap cat that loves to play with the volunteers and visitors at the shelter. I’m hoping someone will notice me among all the other cats and take me to a safe and cozy home where I can be a member of the family. If you come to the Ark and are looking for a new and loyal friend, ask to see Jewel. I will be very happy to see you.

Emme is sweet and friendly! She has tested positive for FIV, so her family will need to take that into consideration when adopting her.

Story
Sweet little Miss Polly is a bit shy and bashful at first, but not for long! She has beautiful rust coloring throughout her tabby colors and she's polydactyl kitty (meaning she has extra toes) so she looks like she's wearing mittens!! She is surely an especial pretty girl!! **Ark Rescue cats are available for adoption to homes in the Alabama and Tennessee Valley area only. Story
I adopted Kiki and Oliver in Birmingham, AL, in 2022, and they have been the sweetest companions ever since. I've watched them grow from tiny kittens into the loving young cats they are today. They adore catnip, scratching their posts, and curling up for cuddles. Their gentle and affectionate nature has made every moment with them special—they’ve never once shown anything but love. Truly, they are the best cats, and it breaks my heart to part with them.

Story
Mama cat showed up in April with 6 kittens. We have been able to find homes for all the kittens, but haven't found one for her yet. We considered keeping her, but she is not a fan of my 2 month old son. I've also noticed him getting watery eyes, and think he might be allergic. I feel terrible not keeping her, but it's what is best for her and for my family. She is extremely sweet, loves to lay on your lap and purr.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Miss Beaker is the sweetest girl. When I first received her as a foster she was so frightened. She has slowly come out of her shell. She doesn’t like to be picked up but will lay in front of you on the floor and wait for “scratchies”. She also loves sitting on your lap, if it’s her choice, and she gets head or chin scratches. You can tell she wants to be loved she just isn’t sure how quite yet. She hides when there are loud noises but comes out again when they stop. My favorite moments with her are when it’s quiet and she lets me pick her up and give her loves and kisses. It doesn’t last long but it’s beautiful when it does. Miss Beaker loves attention from people and needs a home where there's lots of love to go around, or she is the only pet to receive all the affection she deserves.

Story
I am a love-bug with a big purr-sonality! The volunteers say I sound like an old man yelling "you kids get off my lawn" when I'm in a grouchy mood, but it never lasts long! I love canned food, and I'll tell you all about it when I think it's time to eat. I need to be the only animal in the household. I'm a big kitty with a big voice. My favorite activity is naps.

Story
Colin is a distinguished senior gentleman looking for a quiet home. As his comfort with his new family increases, he will blossom into a sweet cat who enjoys spending time next to his people on the couch or circling your legs, hoping for forehead pets. Colin came to New Leash malnourished, and now the fastest way to his heart is through food: he'll do almost anything for a treat! He also does duty as kitchen cleanup in case anything happens to drop on the floor. New people are exciting, and Colin has never met a stranger.
