NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Pepper! This sweet girl was surrendered to a local overcrowded shelter when her family could no longer care for her! She’s an adorable schnauzer mix. She is 7 years old and weighs 20 lbs. She’s very sweet and mellow. Gets along with all size other dogs. She walks well on a leash and doesn’t mind a car or crate. She is utd, hw neg (tested below detectable levels) and spayed! Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications! Thank you! Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Jolene! This sweet girl was saved with her buddy from a rural Alabama shelter last week. We were told she was prego and she goes tomorrow for confirmation but we don’t believe this sweet girl is! If not she will be spayed and will officially be adoption ready. Jolene is around 2 years and 18 lbs. We believe she’s a dachshund /schnauzer mix. She’s sweet and playful. Loves other dogs and is great with all people! She is utd, hw tested and will be ready for her forever home soon! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
