Story
Cashman is a handsome, quiet Standard Poodle that has gone through some life upheavals that he needs to put in his rearview mirror very soon. There has been no neglect, just anxiety from his humans that was passed along to him.  We are looking for a place in life that will not leave him for long hours in the house alone.  There are so many good situations that he would thrive in.  Kids would be perfect if they are in the home.  He is good with other dogs, cats, meeting new people is totally easy for him and he loves to load up easily in a car and go for rides.  He is housebroken, crate trained and so very loving and easy to live with.  He is 3 years old and weighs 56 pounds and could easily put on another 5-10 pounds of good muscle weight.  We have published a BEFORE picture of him when he came to Critter Cavalry Rescue.  We quickly  had him groomed and now he features a handsome Summer cut.  He was a dream at the groomer and she took the AFTER pictures of him in her beautiful garden.  This boy is not a train wreck l like so many rehomes.  He is a sweet dog that needs a stable family that provides him with no reasons to be anxious and alone for long periods of time.  Dogs are such a reflection of their environments and we are looking for a Norman Rockwell family if that still exists!   :-)  Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is in excellent health and a most sensitive heart with so much love to give.  PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 19, 2026, 5:05 pm

Story
Hi, my name is Zara! I am a beautiful gray and white 3-year-old Australian Shepherd Poodle mix. While ladies typically don’t disclose their weight, I am about 50 lbs. If you are a smart and active person or couple looking to adopt a dog with a similar temperament, then we could be a great match! I love going for walks and would appreciate having someone who can incorporate that into my daily routine. Getting outside for exercise is something I enjoy, and I would also make an excellent running companion. Visiting the park or going on hikes would be a lot of fun, too! Not to brag, but I believe I'm quite a looker, and I’m confident that if you took me to the park, we would make lots of friends together. While I love people, I am not used to being around other dogs, so a dog park wouldn’t be suitable for me. However, I’m always up for hanging out where the people are! I’m also a bit too energetic for young children; I sometimes forget that I'm bigger than they are and might accidentally knock them over. It would be wonderful if someone in the household could work from home, as I am crate-trained but don't like spending long hours alone. I thrive on human interaction and am seeking a loving home.  I promise to return your love! If you would like to be considered for my forever family, please contact Vivienne at vivienneajames@gmail.com. Please note that an approved application and adoption fee are required. (I am currently in Tennessee but can be transported north upon adoption.)    March 7, 2026, 12:24 pm

Story
Where’s Waldo? Right here—and he’s looking for YOU!  Meet Waldo, a 2-year-old, 60-pound Labradoodle who’s ready to be found by his forever family! Unlike the famous Waldo, this guy doesn’t want to stay hidden—he’s hoping to stand out and steal your heart. Waldo is the total package: friendly, well-mannered, and always up for an adventure (or a cozy night in). What makes Waldo easy to find (and love):  Dog-friendly and enjoys making new furry friends, House trained and knows his indoor manners,  Walks well on a leash—perfect for neighborhood strolls, Did great around kids at his first adoption event,  A happy, social guy who just wants to be part of the family. Whether you’re exploring the neighborhood, relaxing at home, or heading out for a weekend adventure, Waldo is ready to be right by your side. So… the real question is—can you find room in your heart (and home) for Waldo?  If you are interested in adopting Waldo, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **May 19, 2026, 9:32 pm

Story
**Please take a moment to read the bio in full before reaching out—this helps us respond quickly and efficiently.** Gabbi MUST have another dog in her new home. Meet Gabriella aka Gabbi! Breed: standard poodle, she is on the smaller side. Age: est 2.5 years. Weight: est 37lbs. Training: crate, leash, and house trained. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes to both. In fact, we believe she needs another dog in her new home. Good with adults/kids? Yes. Personality: Gabriella may be a little shy and reserved when you first meet her, but it doesn’t take long at all for her true personality to shine. Once she feels safe, she blossoms into a playful, affectionate girl who loves being around her people. She adores other dogs, does great with cats, and is wonderful with kids. Gabriella came to us from a breeder where she didn’t get many chances to experience everyday life. She is crate trained, leash trained, and doing very well with house training. Gabriella is still discovering the world and would thrive in a patient, loving home that can continue helping her build confidence and experience all the good things life has to offer. If you’re looking for a sweet soul who will grow into an incredibly loyal and loving companion, Gabriella may be your perfect match. Gabbi finds comfort in other dogs. She needs another dog in her new home. Reason for rescue: breeder retiring. She was adopted and recently returned due to needing another dog in her new home. She is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. If interested in adding this sweet girl to your family, please message for an adoption application! Adoption fee: $350. Please note: With limited foster homes and many dogs waiting for rescue, we are unable to place dogs on hold. Approved adopters must be ready to move forward. We welcome out-of-state adopters but do not offer transport, and an in-person meet and greet before adoption at the foster’s home is required. Thank you for your interest in adopting a rescue pet!May 18, 2026, 6:07 pm

Story
**Please take a moment to read the bio in full before reaching out—this helps us respond quickly and efficiently.** Meet Opal! Breed: moyen poodle. Age: est 4 years. Weight: approx 27.8lbs. She needs to gain a few pounds. Training: crate trained, we are working on house and leash training. She will need continued training as she hasn't had many life experiences. Good with other dogs/cats? Yes. She loves other dogs and is fine with cats. Good with adults/kids? Opal is reserved/timid with new people, but she does fine with everyone. Personality: reserved/shy. Opal spent the first 4 years of her life with a breeder. She has had a sheltered life until her rescue. She has come so far, but will need continued guidance and socialization to help her become the wonderful companion we know she can be! Opal has never known life without another dog around, and we feel she needs a confident canine companion to teach her how to be a pet. She also needs a fenced yard. Reason for rescue: breeder release, retiring. Opal is spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and current on vaccinations and preventatives. If interested in adding this sweet baby to your family, please message for an adoption application! Adoption fee: $350.
