Story
We were finally able to pull Prince from the shelter, thanks to our wonderful fosters!! Prince is a loveable, playful, charming guy who is good with other pups and is fantastic with cats! He is up to date on shots and will be chipped prior to adoption. He was euth listed at a local shelter after a minor bite incident in which he clearly expressed discomfort and his warning signals were ignored. He was a staff/volunteer favorite, while at the shelter. Prince prefers a quiet, adult only household.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi,Marcus Brody here.    For those of you trying to find the husky in me,I don't see it either but my mom did a dna test on me and yep it's in there somewhere. My mom got me from a shelter in Feb. but didn't realize I still had so much puppy still in me.Unfortunately between her working full time and me being too energetic for my older brother she has had to make the hard decision to find me another home that can run out some of my energy.Speaking of running I go on runs with one of her friends and love it.Are you looking for a running partner?I do great with dogs and older kids.My energy is a little too much for younger ones.I love everyone(except cats) and am a big cuddle bug(when I am not being a nosy pup)  Would love an active family that keeps me busy.I am crate trained but only go in for a treat.Who am I kidding I will do anything for a treat. Are you an active family looking for an active boy? Here I am and I am ready for you!Lets meet! Story
Meet Josie- a gentle soul ready for her forever home. After surviving a tough past—living outdoors with 13 dogs and losing her home to a fire—she’s now healthy, happy, and craving stability. Josie is a 9-year-old Rottweiler mix who weighs 70 lbs and ready for a calm, loving retirement home. Josie is loyal and affectionate, especially with women—she’s attached to her foster mom like Velcro! She prefers a quiet home without small pets or young kids. With proper introductions, she does well with medium to large dogs. The ideal home would be a low-key, non-active household where Josie can relax and feel safe. She enjoys short, slow walks and peaceful days. After months in foster care, she’s even starting to play with toys! Josie has excellent house manners and never jumps on people. She was heartworm positive when we rescued her, but at her age, the traditional treatment would be too tough on her as they are painful and distressing for the poor dog. SOS has chosen to do the slow kill method with her and we will provide a LIFETIME of medication for her. This might scare some people off but this sweet girl has been through so much and she’s ready for a peaceful, loving home. If you’re looking for a gentle companion who will stick by your side like Velcro, Josie is your girl! She is spayed, housebroken and crate trained. Her adoption fee is $50 fully vetted, and we will provide a lifetime of heartworm medication for her to continue to keep the disease at bay. Save Ohio Strays does not have a shelter. Our dogs are integrated into their foster homes who can tell you all about them to make the transition into your home informative and supportive. Our first step to adopt is always our online application at saveohiostrays.org. Save Ohio Strays does NOT claim or guarantee any breeds given in this description. These are best guess descriptions for breed. SOS NEVER ships pets and will not adopt out to a driving radius greater than 3 hours from Medina, Ohio.

Story
Hi, I’m Jaxx 💙 I’m almost 7 years old, and if I had to pick one word to describe myself, it would be loyal. I listen well, I love deeply, and I’ll never turn down a good game of fetch. In fact, my favorite thing in the whole world is my ball—I’ll happily chase it for as long as you’ll throw it, and then I’ll carry it proudly in my mouth like it’s my baby. Life hasn’t always been easy for me. I was rescued once already, and now, because of circumstances beyond my control, I’m searching for a forever home again. My family is heartbroken—they call me part of their family, but housing changes mean I can’t stay with them. They just want me to be safe, happy, and loved. Here’s what you should know about me: 🐾 I adore kids of all ages—I’ve grown up alongside them and I’m gentle and patient. 🐾 I prefer women and children, but I can warm up to men with time and kindness. 🐾 I’m well-behaved, crate trained, and sleep peacefully on my dog bed. 🐾 I’m leash-trained (though sometimes I get excited and pull a little). 🐾 I love people—neighbors say I’m wonderfully behaved. If I could design the perfect day, it would be running in an open field, chasing my ball, and getting a few tasty treats before curling up for cuddles with my family. I’m not looking for much—just someone who will love me, play ball with me, and promise I won’t ever have to lose my home again. Could that someone be you?

Story
am not for the first time Rotti owner. I need an experienced handler who can give me structure, fair rule enforcement, plenty of exercise as well as teaching me that I need to relax and remain calm. My current foster says in the right hands I am going to prosper and turn into an amazing dog and family pet. My biggest problem is that as a puppy no one spent time to teach me how to be a good boy. Once I learn the rules you patiently teach me, I am positive I will be your favorite member of the family. The rescue will only consider someone who has Rottweiler experience, works from home and is physically active to give me structured exercise. If you think that you are my person please apply at www.REALRottweilerRescue.com

Story
Remi is a 4-year-old Doberman with a big heart, a big personality, and even bigger potential. She is deeply loyal, incredibly smart, and always tuned in to her people. Once she trusts you, she communicates beautifully — whether it’s alerting you to a mouse hiding in a container or insisting you come check on an opossum that fell into the pool. She observes everything and takes her role as household protector seriously, but without aggression. Remi LOVES tennis balls, toys, fetch, and running. She was an Amish puppy-mill momma for much of her early life, likely crated far too often, so the freedom to run and play now means everything to her. She needs an active, outdoorsy family who will include her in adventures, take her on car rides (she loves them!), and give her the physical and mental stimulation she craves. Remi is energetic, playful, and occasionally tries to “bulldoze” her favorite humans when excited, so she's looking for a forever home with adults and dog-savvy teens.  (No small children).  A physically fenced yard is needed to provide a safe space where she can sprint, chase toys, and safely burn off energy. Remi picks up new tricks quickly and already knows wait, sit, stay, down, touch, and heel. She’s obedient, eager to learn, and food-motivated — treats make her forget her fears when she’s unsure. She’s leash trained, crate trained, swims, rides well in the car, and delights in anything involving toys or fetch. She’s also affectionate to her core. Remi loves snuggling on the couch or in bed and gives the sweetest “hugs” by wrapping her front legs around you. She’s a true lap dog at heart. Remi likes other animals — dogs, cats, and even the foster home’s macaw, whom she curiously but respectfully observes. She can be dominant with dogs but is also responsive and respectful. She is timid and shy with new people and unfamiliar situations, needing slow, hands-off introductions. She may bark or stomp when unsure, but once she decides you’re safe — especially if you offer her a ball — she warms up quickly. Remi Would Thrive With: • An experienced adopter with Doberman ownership experience • An active, outdoor-loving family • Dog-savvy teens or adults • A securely fenced yard • Someone patient and willing to help her gain confidence • Plenty of toys, balls, and playtime Apply for Remi at www.DUdobes.org   Doberman Underground adopts to Ohio and some close in parts of bordering states. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Sponsor Me by purchasing: Toys / Treats $10.00 USDLeash & Collar $15.00 USDMonth of Food $35.00 USDMonthly Heartworm/Flea/Tick $40.00 USDTransportation Costs $60.00 USDVaccinations $100.00 USDSpay / Neuter $150.00 USDThyroid Panel $150.00 USDIncoming vetting $300.00 USDHeartworm Treatment $1,500.00 USD  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 24, 2025, 10:07 am

Story
TetanusMagnum is a true working Doberman with tremendous heart and drive.  He completed four weeks of board-and-train with our trusted local trainer who specializes in the breed. He learned manners, basic obedience, impulse control, and—most importantly—how to channel his working energy in healthy, productive ways. He is affectionate, loving, and loyal in classic Doberman fashion, but he also requires an active, structured home. Magnum needs and wants a job. He thrives when his mind and body are busy and would excel in agility, dock diving, frisbee, or as a partner for an avid hiker or runner. Because continuity in training is important for his long-term success, we’d like to see Magnum adopted in the Cleveland, OH area so he can continue working with his current trainer. Home Life & Manners Kennel Trained: Magnum enjoys his crate—it gives him comfort, structure, and a place to decompress. House Manners: Does well on “place” for feeding and benefits from a home where furniture privileges are not allowed. Energy: High drive, high energy—this is a working Doberman through and through. Yard: A physically fenced yard is needed to contain his prey drive and continue off-leash training. Walks: Great on leash and heels beautifully. Car Rides: Loves going for rides. No Cats: His prey drive is simply too high. The Perfect Home for Magnum Magnum needs a Doberman-experienced, training-focused home that understands and appreciates the demands—and rewards—of a true working dog. He is incredibly affectionate and bonds strongly with his human, but he must have structure, purpose, and activity to thrive. If you’re looking for your sport dog, your adventure partner, or your next working Doberman… Magnum is your boy. Story
Monte is a 6-month-old Doberman with a big heart and a wonderfully goofy personality. He who wants to be as close to his people as physically possible—often snuggling up on the couch, drifting off to sleep, and occasionally sliding right off when he shifts positions.  Monte loves his routine and is a quick learner.  He is leash trained, crate trained and does well in the car.  He truly shines when he’s out and about with his people. He enjoys walks, runs, and outings—Home Depot trips are a favorite—and would thrive with an active family that plans to include him in daily life rather than leaving him on the sidelines. As a young, high-energy Doberman, Monte is eager to please and wants to do the right thing. He is currently working with our trainer to build a solid foundation in leash manners and basic obedience and will require continued training and structure as he matures. Consistency, mental stimulation, and appropriate exercise will be key to his success. Monte would do best in a home with a fenced yard - a physical fencing is preferred, or will need a committed effort to properly train him for an invisible fence.  Monte will do best having another dog in the home, as he loves playing with his canine foster siblings and seems to benefit from canine companionship. Because of his age, energy level, and breed-specific needs, Monte’s adopter must have prior Doberman ownership experience and the time to devote to a young, active puppy. In the right home, Monte will be an incredibly rewarding companion—affectionate, loyal, and always ready to be part of the action. If you’re an experienced Doberman owner looking for a smart, loving young pup who wants to grow, learn, and experience life right alongside you, Monte may be your perfect match.
