Story
Henry and Raaz are a bonded pair and must be adopted together. They were bonded as puppies and rely on each other for emotional stability. I got them two years ago and Henry is 6 turning 7 soon on April 4th. Raaz is 7. They are very kind dogs who are moderately trained with tricks, going to their crates independently and giving space when needed. Henry is the goofball of the two. While he is a bit of a doofus, he is such a lover boy. His favorite things are playing with the laser, getting pets and chicken fat as a special treat. Raaz is a grumpy old lady with a heart of gold. She shows her young spirit when playing ball or laser and she loves Beggin for Bacon dog treats (or even better, real bacon). There has been some family medical issues and I am no longer able to home or take care of them properly. They will come with their crates that they recognize as their room and I will provide half a months food that goes with their diet. They both love a sprinkler in the summer as well

Story
Hi! My name is Dozer and I’m a playful, goofy, sweet and loving boy. I’m 3 years old and a Rottweiler - Bully mix. I currently weigh 90 lbs. I like to think I have the cutest, squishiest face. I love all things… especially sleeping, toys, and my blankie. When I say love, sometimes I love a little too hard especially for my people. I am known to be protective with those I love and my space. I like to play rough, some might say a bit too rough, however I have never bit or hurt anyone. I’d like to think I never would. I haven’t had a lot of consistency in my short life to teach me boundaries. I’m willing to learn! I’m looking for a new home, one where I am the only dog and there are no kids (for now). I’m not quite sure how I feel about those little humans yet. I also need a yard to play in to burn off all my energy. I promise I’d make a great companion. I love to snuggle and pretend I’m a lap dog. I promise to make you feel safe and loved, as long as you do the same for me!

Story
Meet Mongo, a 7-year-old charmer who’s as smart as he is adorable! This loving boy enjoys the company of people and kids of all kinds, always ready to share affection and enjoy some quality time together. Mongo is a gentle soul with a big heart, and he’s sure to bring a lot of love to any home he joins. While Mongo has never interacted with cats or dogs, he’s shown to be tolerant and comfortable when near dogs in outdoor runs and kennels. His calm demeanor makes him a great companion for anyone looking for a sweet and easygoing pup. Mongo is currently awaiting his neuter and dental surgeries, but once that’s taken care of, he’ll be fully available for adoption. If you’re looking for a smart, loving dog who is ready to shower you with affection, Mongo is waiting to become your new best friend!

Story
Meet Bear! This handsome guy was turned in as a "stray" by his owners, and while we aren't sure why they gave up on him, he is hoping you'll give him a second chance. Bear is a perfect gentleman, he is laid back and easy going without a care in the world. Bear appears to be potty trained and knows some other basic skills like "sit". His favorite activity so far seems to be power naps, and he would love to have a cozy bed in your home to do so! We aren't sure why nobody has come for this handsome lovebug yet, he has quickly worked his way into the hearts of staff. Bear does well with other dogs, and if you have other animals at home we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Bear home. If you are interested in meeting with Bear, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
7-month-old bundle of joy. My heart is as big as I'm going to be, which is quite big! I'm super sweet & loving. I'm smart too, quick to learn new tricks. I'm still learning about house breaking and manners, so I need a patient teacher, but I promise to be the best student. I get along great with other dogs too. I love cuddling and always happy. I'm looking for a forever home where I can share all my puppy love. Adopt me and you will have a best friend for life! I came in with Gia and Chip but we do not have to be adopted together, I just want a loving home. We aren’t sure how I am with cats. I’ve lived with kids and we had a good time. Please come fall in love with me at the Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Gilead, OH or call 419-946-1747 for more info on me. Please share me if I’m not a perfect match for your family.March 4, 2025, 1:23 pm

Story
Lugnut is about 2 yrs old and is likely a Rottweiler/Boxer mix. He is social and happy. He has likely been in a home before because he is very smart and knows several commands/words. He is ok on leash, loves snacks, LOVES toys--specifically tennis balls and squeaky toys. He will be neutered, have all age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and wormed before going to his new home. If you are interested in Lugnut please stop during our regular business hours and meet him. We require an application as part of the process. Dogs do not go home the same day as meeting. Adopting a Rottweiler

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Rottweiler - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

A Rottweiler costs around $300 when adopted from a rescue or shelter. If you buy one from a breeder, it can cost between $1,000 and $3,000.

The easiest way to adopt a Rottweiler is through a rescue that specializes in Rottweilers. A great place to start is by starting a breed search on Adopt a Pet. The search will show you all the available Rottweilers in your area.

The cost of a Rottweiler can vary depending on factors such as the dog’s pedigree, lineage, breeder reputation, location, and whether the dog is intended for pet or show purposes. On average, Rottweiler puppies from reputable breeders can cost anywhere from $1,000 to $3,000 or more. Show-quality Rottweilers with pedigrees from champion bloodlines may be priced higher. Adopting a Rottweiler from a rescue organization or shelter may be more affordable, with adoption fees typically ranging from $100 to $500.

Rottweiler fun facts

Fun Facts:

In the mid-20th, Rottweilers found favor with humans as police dogs. Their great intelligence, strong musculature, and intense guarding instincts have been put to excellent use in the military, on the police force, and in therapy and service capacities.

When the Romans stopped in Germany, in an Alps town full of large houses with red-tiled roofs, they named the town das Rote Wil. “Rote" for red, and "Wil" for villa. Their dogs bred with local dogs there to create the breed known today as the Rottweiler.

Rottweilers have been given a sweet image by Alexandra Day's children's book series Good Dog, Carl. The series is about the fun adventures Carl and his infant mistress enjoy after the mother leaves, having asked Carl to watch over the baby.
