Story
Just like the classic debate- Left Twix versus Right Twix... both sides together ARE THE BEST!!! I am the same way, I am sweet on one side and salty on the other- together we are perfect! I have a tale to tell, however, none of it matters anymore because I am here right now to tell you- the best is yet to come! I am a big love bug, and although I can be nervous at first- I settle in quickly to be just a big couch potato! I am good with other dogs and would love to have a friend for life in my forever home. I am good with calm older dogs, not much for puppy energy all.the.time... :) I love kids, and would be great with school aged/teenagers (and not many others LIKE teenagers so I can be their buddy :) and would be good in a calmer/quieter home. I want so much to please my family and will look to you for love and attention. I also need a strong leadership family- I have tried to take over control in my first adoptive home and it was not appreciated. SO, you need to be my boss, it's not hard- just let me know you are someone I can trust to keep me safe and take EXCELLENT care of me- with love and more love and I will LET you be in control. Simple as that :) I am a big boy, about 75#, with GORGEOUS colors and markings. I will melt your heart when you look into my amber eyes and into my sweet soul. So don't hesitate, ADOPT ME!! Hi, I'm Kesha! I am a classy Rottweiler looking for my forever family! Now let me tell you a little about myself.... I was found out on the streets, skinny and sad with these HUGE marks all around my muzzle :( It is obvious to the rescuers that I had been bound around my mouth/muzzle for an extended point of time..... no words can express how sad and heartbroken this makes my rescue peeps feel, cause I am the BESTEST girl! Loving and smart and GREAT with EVERYONE I meet!! I have puppy-dog brown eyes that'll absolutely pull at your heart strings, so careful when I look up at you! I have the ability to melt you into jelly, so get ready to make me your NEWEST family member!! My rescue peeps will be very picky about my forever family, so get ready for the grilling :) BUT I AM SO SO WORTH IT. I have a LOVE for food that exceeds all others. I have been internally starving so long because my pancreas wasn't producing the enzymes my body needs to digest and use the nutrients in the foods I was eating........... Sooooo, I am starving and the time and no one better come into my food space (other dogs). We have had no problems at the rescue since she is kenneled to eat. Kesha has had a really horrible start to her life, lets all get together and make sure she gets the BEST NEXT CHAPTER!!! ADOPT.......>DON'T SHOP!!! MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Have you heard that Pepsi is better than Coke???? I am here to tell you, BELIEVE IT!!! Pepsi and I have A LOT in common... like our NAME! I am a sweet, dark chocolate drink of soda, with all the syrupy kissing and hugging that go along with it! I am also deaf, yes, you HEARD me, I cannot hear YOU... but that sure doesn't slow me down! Have you ever tried to learn sign language? I would LOVE to learn some with you :) I mean, how many deaf people do you have to say... SIT to?? NONE! But you can teach me ANY kind of signal for SIT, KISS, SNACK, HUG.... and I will be GLAD to learn it! So if you have ever wanted a rottweiler with a super special personality and special trait?? I AM YOUR NEW BEST FRIEND!!!! I am good with other dogs, play hard and will nap hard with you too. So adopt me soon, I look forward to my world opening up for me with YOU and YOUR FAMILY!!! Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Beautiful Redd Potato is 1yo, weighs 88lbs, is spayed, is up to date on her vaccines, and is microchipped.  Redd Potato knows sit, stay, & off; she does well during car rides; she fears and/or dislikes thunder and loud noises.  Redd Potato's guardian adds:        "Redd Potato is very welcoming to friends and family alike, always the first to greet you at the door with her wagging tail and charming personality.  The coonhound in her is sure to immediately detect whether you will be the one to provide her beloved belly rubs, any toy, or a special treat - she's not picky.  Finding treats in puzzle toys (Kong, Woof, etc) is a favorite pastime.  When she smiles and looks at you with those beautiful amber eyes, you can't resist giving her an extra treat or two.  She loves a fenced yard and running back and forth or in circles.  When she gets tired or wants some quiet time, she retreats to her crate on her own. The groomers have not had any problems with her baths and nails, always reporting good behavior.  Redd loves to be loved and will love you right back. If you need a hole dug, she's your girl!  She will not climb a full flight of stairs but two or three is not a problem.  She needs some more practice on a leash, but doesn't do terribly bad."   Redd Potato's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:   "Interdog Aggression - raised with canine sister she was found and adopted with; LOVED each other until two weeks ago.  Now they growl at each other and must be kept seperate." BITE/SCRATCH/LUNGE/ATTACK INCIDENTS:  On 12 & 13 July 2023, Redd Potato bit her canine sister, the bite broke the skin, but animal control was not involved.  Redd Potato's guardian explains the circumstances surrounding the incidents:  "1st (incident) - Dogs were playing in the yard, and became overly aggressive with one another; both came out with injuries (bites and scratches).  They were fine the remainder of the night and next morning with each other.   2nd (incident) - The following night, after the girls had played together and eaten dinner, I was inspecting her for bites and scratches to apply first aid to, when her sister walked over and they lunged at each other and began to fight again. They separated willingly.  New scratches and bites from this incident were treated." Redd Potato's guardian offers a brief medical history: "Scrathes and bites from two dog incidents are healing are healing well.  Waiting for fur to grow back over where vet shaved and treated.  Cutaneous histiocytoma on chest should disappear on its own within a month or two." Redd Potato's guardian states the following regarding children:  Redd Potato lives with a 15yo child, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children, stating "Wags tail, wants attention". Redd Potato's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Redd Potato lives with her canine sister, but her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating "At most recent vet visit, left them [other dogs] alone.  If dogs walk by the house, she will bark at them from our fenced yard."  Redd Potato's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Redd Potato hasn't lived with cats, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "Barks at cat that walks outside of fence." Redd Potato's guardian describes her as: Very active Barks alot Playful Friendly Affectionate Fearful Indoor dog Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Digger Redd Potato's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "No dogs, no other pets, no young children, fenced yard." Owners have enlisted Rescue Well to provide marketing and screening of applicants as a service, free of charge. All fees and adoption conditions are determined by the owner. We advise that adopters do not send payment or deposits for pets prior to adopting.  ***** Athena is a serbian rottweiler, is 7yo, weighs 75lbs, is spayed, is not up to date on her vaccines, and is not microchipped.  Athena knows the following commands:  sit, stay, lay down.  Athena dislikes/fears the vet, being approached aggressively; some men make her nervous.  She is kept in the home during the day and sleeps in her crate at night.  She loves car rides, as she gets excited and loves the windows opened.  Athena's guardian adds:  "... extremely loyal, fast learner, eager to please and loves affection.  We have had a dog behavioralist (Tony) take her almost every weekend for the past year to help socialize her and ease her anxiety.  If you have an interest in adopting her, we ask that you meet with Tony so he can make sure she is a good fit for your home.  We will provide all the supplies you will need to take care of her. A kennel, dog bed, leash, collar, dog food container, brush, dog hair vacuum, ect." Athena's guardian explains why she has made the difficult decision to rehome her:  "We can no longer take care of her." Lunge incident:  on 1 September 2003, Athena lunged at a neighbor's cat; there was no contact; animal control was not involved.  Athena's guardian explains:   "She never touched our neighbor.  I had her on a leash out for a walk.  He came around his car and approached her aggressively.  She was barking at him but he still kept coming closer.  She then lunged at him when he came within 2 feet of her.  He backed off after that.  I have had a dog behavioralist take her every weekend since then." Athena's guardian states the following regarding children:  Athena lives with young children, ages 2 and 4, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with smaller children, stating...      "Athena is extremely patient with small children. My two children have played with her ears, grabbed her from behind, grabbed her face, played with her paws, cuddled her in her bed, given her treats, etc. Her only downfall is not realizing her own size. If she is excited to get outside and the children are in the path, she might graze them and knock them over with her shoulder."     Athena's guardian states the following regarding dogs:  Although Athena has lived with dogs, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with dogs, stating...      "Athena has lived with a small Shih Tzu and a Black Lab mix in her first home. She has also been introduced to a few different dogs in the past year and been totally fine with most of them. There have been a couple times though that she does not get a long with another dog and can become aggressive. If the new home does have another dog, an introduction would need to be done to make sure they get along." Athena's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Since Athena hasn't lived with cats, her guardian doesn't recommend her living with cats, stating "She chases them and tries to grab them with her mouth". Athena's guardian describes her as: Playful Affectionate Protective Nervous House-Trained Crate-Trained Athena's guardian describes her ideal future home:         "Athena would do great in a chill home environment, she is a bit of a homebody, she loves to cuddle and get a lot of love and affection, a nice yard that is fenced in would do great for her excercise as she loves to play fetch and sniff around the outdoors, it doesn't take much for her to get tired out though and after a few throws she will be happy to chill next to you and enjoy the company." Story
Meet Susie Q, our 2-year-old Rottweiler with a heart as big as her personality! This gorgeous girl came to us as a stray, but from day one, she’s been a friendly face with all of our staff. While her past remains a mystery, it’s clear she’s likely been a mom before. Susie Q has that classic Rottie charm—medium energy, a love for toys, and an insatiable appetite for treats. She’s a smart cookie, but she could use a training-focused home to help her learn the ropes, as it seems she didn’t have many rules in her previous life. When she gets excited, Susie Q can be a bit mouthy, but she’s quick to listen and adjust when told. And like any true Rottie, she has her signature grumble when she’s happy, which might sound intimidating to those unfamiliar with the breed.Susie Q would thrive in a home with children over 12 due to her size, energy, and playful nature. She’s not keen on sharing her food with other dogs, so she’d be happiest as the reigning queen of her castle. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application: acskc.org/adoption/adoption-applicationOnce your adoption application has been approved, we will call you to set up an appointment to meet with the pet! We welcome adopters from out of state to apply! _When it comes to our pets, we're all-inclusive! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- ROSA IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR ANOTHER RESCUE ORGANIZATION.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW. Rosa is a mature adult Rotteweiler who may be 7-9 years old and weighs about 90 pounds. Even though Rosa was missing some hair and hasn't been taken the best care of, someone taught her how to sit and shake hands. She's a sensitive girl who was been upset by losing her family and is comforted by the presense of her foster mom. She would even happier in her very own home with a new family!Rosa is a strong girl who will need a physically capable adopter as she can pull pretty hard on leash. She has been reactive to other dogs and cats in her foster home so being an only child will set her up to be the most successful! We know there are so many great people out there how love rotties! We just need to find one that will give Rosa the happy ending we want for her!A reduced adoption fee of $100 does apply for Rosa, our seniors, special medical and behavioral needs dogs and other 'slow to adopt' dogs!Augusta Dog Adoptions is an all- volunteer, foster- based rescue. We take applications online schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. I'm gonna make you an wo-offer you can't refuse. That's Pacino's favorite phrase. The adoption deal is simple: a roof over his head, a cold dish of water, daily meals and treats, plus an abundance of love. What? It's a good deal! Pacino, now over a year old, has become a true Dogfather. He is well-behaved, happy-go lucky, is very handsome, and has a wonderful, playful nature; he fits seamlessly into any family. His lineage boasts a long line of Dog-Father's, tough dogs out in the world whose business is their own. But, they are loyal, loving and strong characters to have around you.. He's a potty-trained and crate-trained gentleman, but he still has a penchant for chewing. He adores treats and toys, but can go through them quickly. Proper and slow introductions to other dogs are essential. Pacino would thrive best with older kids. Join the legacy and give Pacino the family he deserves. After all, a dog like him is an offer you can't refuse.
