Story
Mavis is a 3-4 year old 82 pound rottie we rescued over a year ago. She adores people and always wants to be near you. She loves anything soft, mainly blankets. Extremely food motivated and eager to please. She is a very smart girl and picks up on tricks quickly. She is crate trained, potty trained and has no health problems. She gets the zoomies every once in a while but prefers to lounge around and hang out. She likes to be clean and will ask for baths by hopping into the tub. She currently lives with a 16 pound Shih-tzu mix and they get along well but she is very reactive to other dogs so would do best in a single dog home. She is very protective of the people she loves but is not a barker. We’ve had tons of different people meet her and she’s very outgoing. Won’t hesitate to switch to guard dog mode if needed though. We have been working with her on that reactivity but we have not been able to give her the time she deserves. She should not be around cats.

Story
Meet Rayner, a stunning 9-month-old Rottweiler weighing in at 104 pounds of pure joy! His infectious enthusiasm for life will brighten your days. Rayner is a curious explorer, always eager to discover the world around him. You’ll often find him in his favorite play bow position, showing off his playful spirit to other dogs—and even the occasional garden statue! This intelligent boy is not just a pretty face; he’s eager to learn and loves engaging in new activities. Rayner is a toy enthusiast, especially when it comes to balls—he plays fetch. What he loves most is being with his humans. There’s nothing he enjoys more than snuggles and the sound of “good boy!” after a successful training session. Rayner already knows how to sit and lay down, and with some patience and consistency, he’s sure to learn even more. Rayner is still growing and is expected to reach between 120 and 130 pounds as an adult. To keep this big-hearted boy happy and healthy, he will need a physically fenced yard where he can run and play safely. If you’re ready to welcome a bundle of joy into your life, Rayner is eager to meet you and fill your home with love and laughter! Rayner came to Fur Fun from Cedar Rapids Animal Care and Control because they were out of space to house another dog. He was found as a stray and an owner never came for him. Rayner is housetrained, neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm tested. If you would like to meet Rayner, please complete the adoption application on our website: www.furfunrescue.org. If you have questions about Rayner you can contact rox@furfunrescue.org or call 319-929-6657. Indoor homes only. Adopters within two hours of Cedar Rapids, IA only, please. Adoption fee $400.

Story
Hi, I'm Zoey! Not to toot my own horn but I am literally the sweetest 6 year old Boxer/Terrier mix you will ever meet. A few months ago, I got lost with my sister and someone found us running by a highway. They picked us up and took us to a local shelter where no one came to claim us. I was a staff favorite at the shelter but that setting was not good for me. That's why some really nice people came and took me to a foster home instead. I really love living in a home with people who show me love and kindness. My foster family says I'm special because of my resilience. You see, I am a shy girl that does the best with other dogs. They bring out my true self. Watching me open up and blossom in such a short time has filled their hearts with love. I've gone from a shy girl to a playful and affectionate companion, and I'm ready to bring joy to my forever family.. One of the cutest things about me is how I tilt my head when I'm curious-it always makes my foster family smile. And guess what? I love having my nails painted! It's like a little spa day just for me. Speaking of activities, I have a few favorites. I absolutely love playing ball-throw it, and I'll chase it for hours. Going on walks is another favorite; there's so much to see and sniff! When I'm not playing or walking, you can find me sunbathing, soaking up the warmth and relaxing. To help me continue to thrive, I need a home with another confident dog who can show me the ropes. Having a furry friend around helps me feel more confident and comfortable. Patience is key, too. I need a bit of time to fully open up and show you all the love I have to give. I get along well with other dogs, though I'm not sure about cats yet. When meeting new people, I can be a bit shy, but if you give me the space to get comfortable and do my own thing, I'll warm up in no time. I've never shown any aggression-just a little patience and kindness is all I need. With people I know, I'm a total "wiggle butt"! I get so excited and happy to see my favorite humans. I love kisses, belly rubs, and lots of attention. My foster family calls me their little speckled cow because of the black dots on my belly and the trail of water I leave after drinking water-it's my special quirk! The ideal home for me is one with an active family who has at least one other confident dog and loves to throw the ball for me. I also enjoy my spa days, especially when I'm pampered with a bath, some coconut oil on my belly and ears, and a manicure. If you're looking for a smart, loving, and playful companion, I'm your girl. I promise to shower you with love and bring endless joy to your life. I can't wait to find a forever family that will spoil me and shower me with the love I deserve. Zoey is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, microchipped and spayed. She would do best in a home with a physically fenced yard so he can run and play safely.
