Story
Jenny is a bright, confident and energetic girl. She loves to play and go on long walks. She is very affectionate and friendly with people both adults and children. She has a strong personality and though she is small for a Rottie tends to be the more dominant type of dog. We're practicing letting her get to know other dogs and she's showing good progress with her manners. She's looking for an owner who would be comfortable continuing to help her with this. She is very smart and is going to make someone a fantastic loyal companion.

Story
Frankie is a stunning, 5 year old, female, Rottweiler. She originally joined MHCR a few years ago. As her adoptive family grew, welcoming 3 kiddos, two of which were twins, Frankie grew uncomfortable with the chaos that ensued. She came back into our care now seeking a home without any kiddos. Frankie has been hard at work on weight loss! She was a whopping 124 lbs!! She’s down to 103 lbs now and is ready to find a forever family committed to helping her achieve her weight loss goals. Ideal weight is likely around 85 lbs so she has a ways to go. Luckily, she LOVES fetch! She will chase a tennis ball around all day long and never tire. She’s a very playful girl and playing is definitely her love language. She seems to do ok with other large dogs – however she’d love to be the queen if someone’s castle. She tends to do better with dogs that aren’t super high energy (which makes sense given her dislike of toddlers). She’s house trained, too! She’s independent (minus playing) and comes for loves but isn’t driven by them. A secure fenced in yard is a must! Frankie is being fostered in Lakewood, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/frankie/. Story
**Mollie is a board and train dog through Brighter Days.  Please read all about this before applying to adopt** Mollie is a 2 year old Rottie mix Mollie was surrendered to Brighter Days Dog Resue because her previous owners had never taken the time to train her properly.  Becuase of this she was surrendered to Brighter Days to find a family who actually has the time and dedication a 4-legged companion needs.  When an adult dog comes to us lacking any sort of training we immediately get them into our board and train program.  One of the main reasons dogs get euthanized in an overcrowded shelter is due to lack of training.  When we started Brighter Days we made a commitment that we would make sure every single Brighter Days Dog would be set up for a life time of success, which includes training.  Our trainer works so hard to get these dogs to be wonderful, stable, balanced, obedient, great dogs.  To make sure their hard work is not lost over time due to owners who don't continue the training, we require each one of our adopters who is adopting a board and train dog to take our trainers classes in longmont.  It is an eight week course that is usually $300, but for Brighter Days adopters it is free! Here is what our Trainer has to say about Mollie: Mollie is a high energy, hilarious, sweet and affectionate dog. Mollie will need daily exercise, so an active home is best for her, a home that enjoys walking, running, hiking, etc. Also she needs a house with a big yard and a fully enclosed with a 6 foot privacy fence. She is an awesome dog and will be perfect for the right, active family.  We are going to require Molly goes to a home without other dogs, cats, and kids just to make sure she is set up for success.   If you are inerested in adopting Mollie please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##1403699##

Story
Available to the right adopter, who either has experience with scared dogs, or is willing to continue with her training. After spending several months with Ellie, she tells me she's for someone who is very physical. Like a long distance runner, or someone who is doing mountain climbing and would like a companion. Ellie is fantastic on the leash and will do best in a home with another confident dog and an owner who is going to take her running. Surely there's someone out there looking for an exercise partner!!!! Ellie is a precious Boxer mix, that is currently being fostered with one of our dog trainers that specializes in timid, shy and scared dogs. She is guessed to be under 1 year old. She is absolutely adorable and her eyes will melt your heart but she is still pretty shy. Her foster mom thinks she would do better in a quiet home with adults or older children to work with her. Another confident dog could be helpful, but not necessary. She is dog and cat friendly, when introduced to the cat, she didn't even notice her, because Ellie was concentrating on the human. She will need an adopter, who will give her love and patience. Please consider this adorable girl as a part of your family. She deserves all the kindness and will give you a lifetime of affection. The shy dogs become the most loyal dogs, who adore their humans. (By the way, there is also discounted support/specialized training available in Fort Collins for owners of scared dogs) Her foster mom is located in Loveland, Colorado.

Story
Meet Jared, aka Jare-bear -- a a puppy with a personality as unique as his ears. While one ear tends to stand to attention, the other likes to take a more relaxed approach to life. This handsome boy can be shy when he first meets new people. Jared's foster thinks his first months as a young stray on the streets of Mexico may have given him plenty of reasons to be cautious. However, once he knows he is safe with you, his true personality shines. Jared is a sweet, goofy boy with a heart full of love. He is an active pup who loves to romp, chew on rope toys, and play with his foster sisters. When he isn't playing, he will snuggle next to you and settle his head in your lap. He will look up at you with his chocolate brown eyes eager for soft pets and to hear what a good boy he is. Jared is one of a kind. Apply to meet this handsome boy. Jared is fostered in Windsor, CO.
