Story
Frankie is a stunning, 5 year old, female, Rottweiler. She originally joined MHCR a few years ago. As her adoptive family grew, welcoming 3 kiddos, two of which were twins, Frankie grew uncomfortable with the chaos that ensued. She came back into our care now seeking a home without any kiddos. Frankie has been hard at work on weight loss! She was a whopping 124 lbs!! She’s down to 103 lbs now and is ready to find a forever family committed to helping her achieve her weight loss goals. Ideal weight is likely around 85 lbs so she has a ways to go. Luckily, she LOVES fetch! She will chase a tennis ball around all day long and never tire. She’s a very playful girl and playing is definitely her love language. She seems to do ok with other large dogs – however she’d love to be the queen if someone’s castle. She tends to do better with dogs that aren’t super high energy (which makes sense given her dislike of toddlers). She’s house trained, too! She’s independent (minus playing) and comes for loves but isn’t driven by them. A secure fenced in yard is a must! Frankie is being fostered in Lakewood, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/frankie/. Story
**Mollie is a board and train dog through Brighter Days.  Please read all about this before applying to adopt** Mollie is a 2 year old Rottie mix Mollie was surrendered to Brighter Days Dog Resue because her previous owners had never taken the time to train her properly.  Becuase of this she was surrendered to Brighter Days to find a family who actually has the time and dedication a 4-legged companion needs.  When an adult dog comes to us lacking any sort of training we immediately get them into our board and train program.  One of the main reasons dogs get euthanized in an overcrowded shelter is due to lack of training.  When we started Brighter Days we made a commitment that we would make sure every single Brighter Days Dog would be set up for a life time of success, which includes training.  Our trainer works so hard to get these dogs to be wonderful, stable, balanced, obedient, great dogs.  To make sure their hard work is not lost over time due to owners who don't continue the training, we require each one of our adopters who is adopting a board and train dog to take our trainers classes in longmont.  It is an eight week course that is usually $300, but for Brighter Days adopters it is free! Here is what our Trainer has to say about Mollie: Mollie is a high energy, hilarious, sweet and affectionate dog. Mollie will need daily exercise, so an active home is best for her, a home that enjoys walking, running, hiking, etc. Also she needs a house with a big yard and a fully enclosed with a 6 foot privacy fence. She is an awesome dog and will be perfect for the right, active family.  We are going to require Molly goes to a home without other dogs, cats, and kids just to make sure she is set up for success.   If you are inerested in adopting Mollie please fill out our adoption application at brighterdaysdogrescue.com ##1403699##

Story
Meet Harold! Harold is a rottweiler mix who is estimated to be 5 years old. He is a pretty mellow guy but is always up for playing and chasing squirrels! He wants to be right beside his people at all times. He is eager to please, very food motivated, and will do just about anything when he hears his favorite phrase, "Do you want a treat?"    At times, Harold can be fearful of new people and experiences. His foster family is helping him learn that people are safe, kind, and can be trusted, and Harold has come a long way. When he is scared or is startled he might bark, but if given the chance, he realizes there is nothing to fear and will warm up to people. Harold will need a family who is patient and willing to help him acclimate to new people/things/places. In return, he will be the most devoted, loyal, and loving best friend!   Harold is a heartworm survivor, which means he will need to be on a heartworm preventative for the rest of his life - a once a month pill that he thinks is delish. Harold is house-trained, knows basic commands, loves walks, and is just an all-around good boy! He is good with other dogs when they are introduced slowly. He has been around children, but he is vocal and younger kiddos might be frightened of his barks. Harold is being fostered in a family with teenagers, which used to scare him, but now he knows that teenagers give really good tummy rubs! Every day, he is becoming more confident and learning that people are good. Harold can be trusted in the house, but he just cannot help himself when it comes to socks - he will eat them if given the chance, so his forever family will want to keep their socks out of reach! His adoption fee is $375 Put in an application at eapl.comFebruary 6, 2025, 9:37 am

Story
Lulu is a playful, silly, and sweet one year old pup (she's a Christmas baby!). She is great with people, dogs, and cats! She'll keep you smiling all day long with her goofy antics and needs to be in an active home — she would make a perfect running buddy! After a good run, she likes to cuddle up next to her people or dog friends on the couch for a good snooze. She can pull a bit on leash but it's manageable and continues to improve. She's also a huge fan of sniffy walks as well. She should have another playful dog in the home as she loves to spend her days playing with her doggie friend(s). She would do best in a home with older/teenaged children. She can't wait to have humans of her own to cuddle with and a playful doggie sibling! ##1972842##
