Venus is a super sweet puppy who loves to be around her humans and foster siblings. She is currently working hard on her house training. She has been trained to be in the kennel when we her family goes outside and also sleeps in the kennel at night. She is also very food motivated so it would be easy to continue her training.   She is completely vetted. Vetting includes spaying/neutering, microchip, rabies as well as all puppy vaccinations, and has been on preventatives. Her adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to CT. House-trained/Crate-trained: I am fully house-trained and crate-trained, although my foster parents leave me out of the crate when they are not around. I spend most of my time sleeping anyways. Dogs/Cats/Children: I would prefer to be the only dog in the home. I also don’t like cats very much. I have never been around children inside a home but I have met a couple on walks and I seem to like them. Energy Level: Low energy but I enjoy going on short walks. Before FAR/My History: Before coming to FAR, I was surrendered due to a cancerous mass. Since then, I have undergone three surgeries to remove the masses. The vet mentioned that there is still a possibility that the cancer may have spread to other parts of my body. There is also a possibility that the cancerous masses that were removed will come back. The type of cancer I have is an aggressive form of doggy breast cancer. However, I have been doing well and have been gaining weight under the care of my foster parents. Meet Peppa, a super sweet ~8 year old spayed female terrier mix, weighing about 30 lbs! This girl is affectionate and loves to give kisses. She is a super love bug and has a good amount of energy for an older girl!  Peppa is good with other dogs, all people, and kids. Levi is in need of a new foster home or a forever home in CT. He is an active young dog. His current foster loves him, but can't give him the exercise and stimulation he needs. He' got a typical Jack Russell personality - he likely will want to be in charge if you let him. With consistent limits and lots of love, he's a great companion and a cuddle-bug. Levi will do best as an only dog, although he possibly could do well with a small dog, with proper introductions. We always do a meet and greet to make sure that everyone's happy with each other. He doesn't like large dogs. He needs an adult home or one with teenaged children 16+ years old. He also needs an active family who can give him daily physical exercise, as well as stimulating his brain - he's a very smart boy! We don't normally require a fenced yard, but Levi really does need a securely fenced yard. He's a wonderful dog who will do well with structure as well as lots of love!

Our B litter is ready for adoption! This sweet litter of pups are about 9-10 weeks, born around mid-November 2024. These puppies are some of the lucky ones – a good Samaritan saw a mangy, starving dog eating scrap someone threw out in a back corner of a Mexican restaurant by a dumpster. She couldn’t turn away. The good Samaritan was going to just help mom, when she realized mom looks to have just had puppies. It’s like the momma dog knew someone was there to help, and she turned away from the scrap food and started walking down the street. The good Samaritan followed this momma dog for almost 2 miles to a home, where when they walked up, 7 puppies came running out from under the house (see video!) The homeowner didn’t claim mom or puppies, nor did she want anything to do with them. She refused to feed them or offer them shelter. It took some time, but after a few days, we were able to get all 7 pups and mom to safety. Mom is about 32 lbs and has a wire-hair coat, we have named her Lainey and she will also be available for adoption soon. We do not know who dad is. We believe pups will vary in size with the 2 runts (Baby ad Belle) staying smaller than the others – but generally we believe they will stay around 40 lbs. Please keep in mind that these puppies had minimal human interaction until a few weeks ago, but they are now in their prime age for impression, training and growing in a home to learn from. They all would do wonderfully with well-behaved children, other dogs and cats. They did not chase stray cats at the home they were at and they LOVE other dogs. Here’s a breakdown of the litter and some information on each one: All weights are as of 1/19/25 Baby – Male Runt – 7.5 lbs – Black and white (tri color) – Semi wirehair and very short hair – does not seem to shed much, if at all – Very playful. Very outgoing. Fun to watch play as he is so much tinier than the other pups. Daring. First pup to try anything. Aims to please. Wants to be next to you and get lots of love and love you. All homes would be ideal, all ages of children would be great for Baby. Belle – Female Runt – 4.4 lbs – Black and White – Wirehair – Does not seem to shed – She is quite timid but friendly and does come around. Will make the best baby. She defends herself against all the other bigger pups. Fierce and won’t let anyone pick on her. Is learning to play with toys. Could be a lap dog with lots of patience. Minimal-mild active home that is patient. Beau – Male – 10.2 lbs – Brown and White – Wirehair – Does not seem to shed – Needs someone with some patience. He is a bit timid and would rather watch everyone else play before joining. He would do best with another dog in the home. Beau is learning to trust people and his surroundings. Minimal-Mild Active home that is patient. Bree – Female – 11.4 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – She is a hoot to have around. She loves to talk to you and is very vocal. She doesn’t mind telling you how she feels. She’s more of a leader and she keeps all the other puppies in check and in their place. If any of them start bickering, Bree will be there to break it up. She’s not afraid to test the waters and try anything new. A bit shorter of legs and stocky build. A more active home is preferred. Blue – Male – 12.4 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – This gentle giant boy is so sweet. He is the biggest of the litter. He is very curious but won’t try anything first. He will stand back and watch. He is learning to trust humans and his surroundings. Very smart. Blue would be great with another dog to teach him or someone willing to put in the time and patience for training and socialization. Would love someone to force cuddles on him so he can learn to fully love people. Not a mean bone in his body. Mildly active home ideal, with patience. Biscuit – Male – 11.1 lbs – Brown and White – Wire Hair – Does not seem to shed – This lover boy is the most timid of the group of pups. The foster left him with his mom so she can help build his confidence and not be bullied by his siblings. He is very submissive. Needs a family or person that is patient, kind and understands he does need socialization and lots of love. Ideally no young children given how timid he is. Bear – Male – 11.3 lbs – Black and White – Short hair, minimal shedding – One of the most outgoing pups of the litter! He is one of the few that came around super quickly and is super lovable, huggable and amazing all around. He LOVES to be held in your arms and rocked like a baby or just carried around. He would rather be with you than anywhere else. His next favorite thing is belly rubs. He will roll over in a heartbeat to get some belly rubs and stay there until you can’t anymore. He is a very relaxed pup and doesn’t run around too much. Chill. Mildly active home and all age children would be perfect. All of these puppies will make wonderful and loyal companions.     adoption donation : $699 weight 55 lbs  Age  1 year old        Odie is an incredibly sweet and gentle family dog who gets along great with other dogs and currently lives with a cat whom he loves. He also lives with young children and is great with them.                Odie and his siblings were found abandoned in a rural part of Mississippi and one by one were sent to the northeast to loving homes. Odie is doing great in his foster home, but really needs a home of his own, with a yard for him to play in. He would love a home with another dog for company, but as long as someone is around to give him the love and attention he needs, he’d be fine as an only pet.   Odie loves toys and bones and is just a really good boy. He is completely house trained and knows how to sit and stay.  Good    Wags is a struggling 501(c) 3 where one woman in rural Mississippi takes care of about 150 homeless and stray dogs.  Adoption donations are the only source of funding for the rescue.
