Story
Meet Storm, a sweet, shy boy who was saved just in time. Storm was pulled from a kill shelter right before he was scheduled to be euthanized. We’re so grateful that we could give him a second chance, but now, he’s looking for a forever home where he can continue to thrive. At around 2 years old, Storm is a lovable Feist mix with a gentle nature. He’s a little shy at first, but once he trusts you, he’s an affectionate, playful companion. He has a medium energy level, making him a great fit for someone who wants a dog that’s active but also enjoys downtime and cuddles. Storm gets along well with other dogs and is great with kids, though his behavior with cats is still unknown. Storm is house-trained and will be neutered soon. He’s up to date on his vaccinations and is microchipped. Though he’s still a little shy, we’re confident that with time and patience, Storm will open up even more and become the loyal, loving dog he was always meant to be. If you’re looking for a sweet dog with a kind heart who needs a loving family to call his own, please consider giving Storm the forever home he deserves. He’s ready to bring joy and companionship to someone special. If you’re interested in adopting Storm, please reach out! Let’s help him find his happily ever after.

Story
Approximate Age: 1.5 years old Approximate Weight: 18.6 lbs I just arrived to ODHS but the humans promised to update my bio as they learn more about me! Put in an application and come meet me soon. You can still come adopt me or even join our foster program to help the humans learn all the awesome things about new dogs like me! Learn more on our website! Hope to see you soon! *********************************************************************** Visit our website for an application to adopt. https://www.olddominionhumanesociety.org/adoption-survey What breed am I? Mixed mutt! ODHS does not breed label (unless there's official paperwork), as studies show it is nearly impossible to tell the exact breed of each dog based off of their appearance. Educational article: 3/3/3 rule: https://www.rescuedogs101.com/bringing-new-dog-home-3-3-3-rule/?fbclid=IwAR2iv5m7fqk3FieO7LOsstGeGsYYV_F1rJOd1BPxaImofLpcinpYsUbFRWs Adoption Donations are $275 for an adult, $375 for puppies (a dog under one year of age), and $175 for a senior dog (based on the age of the dog). More "sought out breeds may have a higher adoption donation) Adoption donations are to be made via cash, or credit/debit card. There is a $5 fee to run cards. We do not accept checks for adoption fees. Please remember to bring a martingale collar and leash (non-retractable) with you the day of the adoption. We typically have adoption events on Weds 5-7pm, Fri 6-8pm, Sat 11am - 3pm, and Sun 11am - 1pm. Our adoption center is located at 3602 Lafayette Blvd, Suite 101, Fredericksburg, VA 22408. It's important that you keep an eye on your emails for any changes or updates during the adoption process. Old Dominion Humane Society is a volunteer based organization. We are run completely by volunteers, who also have full time jobs, so we appreciate your patience. Currently, the average timeframe for a response to your application is 1 week.
