Story
ABOUT ME… Hey there, I'm Bert! Some say I’ve got the charm of my namesake—Burt Reynolds—minus the mustache but with all the charisma. I may be past my prime to stay on the run from Smokey, but I sure do love a good road trip, a long walk, or just riding shotgun with my favorite human. Life has been a bit of a winding road for me. My mom passed away, and when my dad had to move into a care facility, my world got turned upside down. My caretakers wanted the best for me but couldn’t keep me, so they reached out to CO•PAW. That’s when my amazing foster family stepped in to help me heal and get ready for my next big adventure—finding my forever home. Through it all, I’ve been determined to stay a true gentleman—kind, loyal, and always up for some fun. Whether we’re cruising the open road or relaxing on the couch, I’m just happy to be part of the ride. I AM GREAT WITH... House manners—I know where to do my business: outside. I love long walks or just being your couch pal. I get along well with dogs big and small, and I adore people. My foster dad hasn’t had a chance to introduce me to cats, but I have a feeling we’d get along just fine. He also says I’ve got a heart as big and powerful as a Trans Am’s engine. I AM STILL WORKING ON... Figuring out what’s next. After losing my home, I’m still getting used to change. But I’ve been so lucky to have kind humans looking out for me, and I know my perfect family is just around the bend. I REQUIRE... A loving home where I can settle in and be part of the family. Someone who appreciates a loyal sidekick for walks, naps, and everyday adventures. A comfy spot on the couch—or at least an honorary co-pilot seat. If you’re looking for a well-mannered companion who’s been through a few twists and turns but is ready for his happily ever after, I just might be your guy. Let’s hit the road—or hang out on the couch—and start our adventure together. **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available.**

Story
Heyyyy, I'm Paul! I'm in the Prison Training Program now and I'm ready to be adopted! I'm a 1-year-old charming squishy face, who's just bursting with love to give! I love to play and goof around, always ready to bring a smile to your face with my funny antics. I'm super friendly and love people, so I'll always be by your side. I'm curious about everything and eager to learn, so I'm sure I'll pick up training quickly. I'm a cuddly little guy who's sweet as can be. I promise to fill your home with laughter, love, and endless tail wags. So, why should you adopt me? Well, I believe life is better with a loyal friend like me to share in all the fun and adventures. Plus, I'll give you the best cuddles ever! I was found abandoned with my 3 friends and they have all been adopted already. If you would like to meet Paul please call the shelter or send a request here for more info. An appointment must be scheduled to meet him----he is not physically at the shelter because he stays at the prison for training. He is neutered, vaccinated, wormed, and tested neg for heartworm. Adopting a Feist

Frequently asked questions about acquiring an Feist - the pros and cons of adopting versus going through a breeder, and associated costs.

You can adopt a Feist at a much lower cost than buying one from a breeder. Adopting a Feist can cost $50 to $300, which covers the expenses of caring for your new canine pal before adoption. This adoption fee typically includes a basic exam, microchipping, spay/neuter, parasite preventatives and treatment, and vaccines.

In contrast, buying a Feist from a breeder can be expensive. Depending on their lineage and whether or not they’re a registered Feist breed with the UKC or CKC, they can cost anywhere from $500 to $1,000, and you miss out on the meaningful experience of saving a shelter pup.

The easiest way to adopt a Feist is through searching rescues and shelters throughout the southern U.S. and southeast Appalachian region. You can use the breed search feature on Adopt a Pet to look for available Feists in your area.
