ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: lbs
ESTIMATED AGE:
KNOWN WITH DOGS: He loves playing with toys and with his much larger Great Pyrenees brother and sister! He has a lot of confidence when taking on dogs six times his size-but it's all play. He likes to hang outside with the bigger dogs and supervise the goings-on in the neighborhood.
He wants to play with his similarly sized Papillon brothers, but they aren't interested. He does respect them when they tell him to back off, however. Thus, we think he'd be fine with cats as long as they can send the same message, and if his adopters enforce respect for other animals. We do not see evidence of a prey drive.
KNOWN WITH CATS: See above
KNOWN WITH KIDS: Not sure but is friendly with the adults he meets.
KNOWN COMMANDS: He understands "no", "out", "potty", "treat" (of course), and will come when called both inside and outside.
KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: He's doing great with potty training! He goes outside and he (mostly) hits the pads we have for him inside. He makes it through the night without accidents. We are working on the crate training for when he needs to be home without supervision. He doesn't love it, but is getting used to it, especially when he gets a kong with peanut butter.
KNOWN LIKES:
He really likes his people. He LOVES to snuggle, and he prefers to sleep in bed with us at night, but we are crate training him too. He stays with me during the day while I work, and sleeps at my feet. He is definitely a power napper. He loves to climb into the toy basket and grab a stuffie to carry around or try to entice the other dogs to play with him.
KNOWN DISLIKES: None so far, other than not loving being alone in the crate.
Notes from the foster:
He's pretty quiet, at least so far, and has not barked much at all, other than in play. His coat is very short and smooth. We don't think he'll shed much, or if he does it will be minimal.
He would be a great companion for many household situations! As much as he loves his people, he likes to be with the other dogs too - so he would do well both on his own and with other pets. Have not seen any evidence of aggression or resource guarding- meals, treats, or toys.
