Story
Meet Chase! Chase is a three year old German Shepherd that was brought into the shelter as a stray, so little is known about his past. This lively, charismatic guy is ready to have a human to spoil with affection. He knows his basic commands well, and walks well with a harness. He has a tendency to get quite excited, which results in a bit of jumping and pulling while out on walks. With the proper training techniques and a calm environment that offers more stimulation, we're sure he'll continue to improve.German shepherds are protective, loyal companions. Bred with a strong work ethic, they are among the most popular dog breed thanks in large part to their ability to be great family dogs. They love "their people" but can be cautious around strangers or newcomers and thrive on the care and attention of their family.Chase is looking for a strong, patient, and committed owner that is able to provide the necessary training, mental and physical stimulation, and unconditional love and affection he so deserves!Chase is dealing with some possible health issues and may need to be kept on a special diet and/or medication to manage some symptoms. We still have some things to rule out so to be sure, Chase is currently available for Foster-To-Adopt until he is medically cleared. If you think Chase could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/*TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted. Story
Meet Thyme! Thyme is a 3 month old German Shepherd/Cane Corso mix, searching for his forever home. Thyme is a lively and energetic pup who is always ready for an adventure! With a playful spirit and boundless enthusiasm, Thyme is the perfect companion for an active family looking to add a burst of joy and excitement to their lives. This spirited little pup loves to run, jump, and explore, and he is eager to learn new tricks and games. Thyme is at the age where training and routine are critical, so he needs the consistency, patience and love of his new guardian to show him the ways of developing into a mature and fulfilled adult dog. Adopters are encouraged to attend puppy obedience classes, but the basics are a must - leash training, socializing with people and other dogs, and, of course, house training. Thyme won't be a puppy forever, and as he grows, there are some important things to keep in mind about his breed. Thyme is presumed to be a German Shepherd/Cane Corso mix, however we cannot guarantee this is 100% accurate without a DNA test. Both breeds in this mix are large dogs, and a potential adopter should be prepared for him to grow quite large. Shepherds are very intelligent dogs that require a lot of training, stimulation, and exercise. Both Shepherds and Corsos bond deeply with their family, and can be standoffish when meeting strangers. Socializing with both people and other dogs will be very valuable in his development. If you're looking for a fun-loving, rambunctious friend to keep you on your toes, Thyme is the perfect match! **We are accepting applications, and are looking for a Foster-to-Adopt home while Thyme awaits his neuter surgery. **If you think Thyme could be a good fit for you, please fill out an application below.https://spca.bc.ca/survey/dog-adoption-application-kamloops/*TIP: We encourage all applicants to write a little bit about themselves when prompted.
