Story
Introducing Apolo! Handsome Apolo was found wandering the streets alone, just a young innocent pup who was trying to survive on his own.  Not for long tho, he was scooped up by a rescuer and has been lovingly cared for ever since.   He's blossomed into this beautiful Dutch Shepherd mix with the most beautiful gold merle coat.  He's a standout for sure!   True to his dominant breed as a Dutch Sheperd, he is lively, athletic, alert and intelligent.  With these characteristics, he would do well in agility training!  For now, he's a friendly young dog  who gets along with everyone, adults and kids alike.  He has not lived with a cat, but he has been tested in the company of a cat and did not exhibit anything other than curiosity!  Apolo would make a great active family dog, with or without a fellow dog to romp and play with! He's already great on a leash and is ready to make his forever connection with his future family. Smart as a whip and ready to impress! VETTING: Fully vaccinated Neutered/Spayed Dewormed SNAP 4Dx negative (Heartworm, Lyme disease, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasma) Flea/tick/heartworm prevention No known medical issues or injuries PLEASE NOTE: Apolo is currently in Mexico. There will be a $235 fee for transportation to BC. This will be discussed upon approval. ##2219482##

✅Currently located in South Korea✅️ 💟Available to fly to Vancouver & Toronto💟 Meet Zeus⚡ * With People: Can be a little shy at first. However, once he warms up to people and the environment, he becomes kind and gentle even if someone lifts or touches him unexpectedly. Appreciates human warmth and prefers to lie against or be touched by people. * With Dogs: Is getting along well with other dog friends at the Center! Sometimes acts a little aggressively, which leads to possible fights when he gets roused up during play with other dogs. Needs to be carefully watched when he plays with other dogs. * Separation Anxiety: Not confirmed at the Center. Needs to be trained, getting accustomed to a family life. * Potty Training: Uses outdoor potty at the Center. * Hygiene: Enjoys being brushed. Initially resists having his nails trimmed, which he feels uncomfortable but accepts it once the nail trimming starts. * Walks: Slightly scared of a leash and needs to take time in wearing a leash. However, once outside, he does not pull it and walks well in whatever direction a walker pleases. * Car sickness: Has slight car sickness and drools a little. 💌Special Note💌 * Because all the dogs poop in the same area at the Center, Zeus has a habit of scatophagy. Any excrement should be cleaned right away. (Scatophagy can be remedied quickly with training at home.) * Is a bit afraid of the noises like automobiles or bikes. ❗❗Health Condition * Neutered. * Microchipped and heartworm negative upon retest. * Missing his left ear due to a birth defect, but he has no problem with hearing!

Story
**He is currently in Seattle** Mukgoo is about 5 years old. He was found near an army base in Korea and immigrated to America around the age of 1 on President’s Day of 2020. He is an incredibly smart and lovable dog. He is kind and loves people (loves dogs and people). He will eat almost anything (except veggies). He can be a jumper when he gets very excited. He prefers households with another dog and a big yard to run around in but it’s not a non-negotiable. He has always adjusted well to whatever the circumstance. Overall, he’s a good dog and he’s got a lot of love to give. I’m having to give him up due to being unable to raise him in my current life stage. In no way, this is due to any bad behaviors or anything. He’s a really kind-hearted and sweet dog. Likes - He loves playing fetch (quickest way to his heart), rolling in the grass, puppycinos, ice cream, snow, people, dogs - Historically has liked lamb, fish skin, salmon, bully sticks, dental sticks, sweet potato, etc. In general, he loves to eat~ - Very social and prefers to greet other dogs and people, including dog parks, doggy day cares Dislikes - He dislikes bath but who does - He doesn’t like being alone but can manage a few hours if needed - No longer is a fan of veggies - Fireworks and big noises Things to Watch out for - Throwing up: If you let him freely eat grass, he’ll throw up. When he feels stressed, he can react by throwing up. - He can be independent when he is fixated on things. Just be patient with him and he will come back to focus on you. He is a people pleaser. - He rarely barks. He may bark when other dogs bark but even that is rare. He is more of a whiner. If he needs to let you know something, he will whine. - Not a counter surfer but can be if you let him Commands He knows his basic commands (sit, down, hand, etc.) and is open to learning new ones as well. Potty He is used to peeing and pooing outside. Once you create a regular spot and time for him, it’s clockwork. Otherwise, just be aware when he whines that it may be time to go. - At a high level, he knows “go potty” and “go poo” as a sign to go to the bathroom - He will rarely go pee or poo inside the home. Once in a million tries, a thing like that can happen during the night but he’s really sorry when he does. Leash He has never been fully off-leash, only in areas that condone it (home, backyard, dog park, etc.). He is not one to go off-leash and run away. He’ll run around and try to have you play with him. Keep him on a short leash if you need to focus on walking as he can veer away due to his interest in sniffing. Once on a short leash, he’ll understand and walk along. However, give him time to sniff as he is very curious with smells. Sleep He can sleep together or on his own if you’re in a different room or floor. He is also loves to cuddle up as well. When there’s fireworks, it’s recommended you sleep where he sees you because he’s afraid of the loud sounds. Food He is on one meal a day. If you give him two meals a day, he may not eat the first meal. Snacks though he loves. He knows how to sit and wait for food. He is currently on Costco’s salmon and sweet potato meal.

Story
Name: Annie OakleyBreed: German Shepherd mixAge: 4 yrsGender: feWgt/Hgt: 55 lbs / 22 inches Highlights: playful, tripaw, joyful, very affectionate, independent, low exercise needs - no walking needed Energy level: low Relations: great with dogs once comfortable with them, good with kids, not good with cats  Hi everyone, my name is Annie Oakley. I am a beautiful and very happy girl, but that hasn't always been true for me. I used to live in the Middle East where at the very tender age of eight months I became pregnant. I was much too young to become a mother and all my puppies died. In addition, my rear leg had been badly damaged, probably from being hit by a car. In the country I came from, dogs are considered vermin and people often deliberately hit us with their cars in attempts to kill us. My wounds became badly infected and I was in terrible pain by the time I was finally rescued. By the time I was taken to a veterinarian, my leg needed to be amputated. Despite this I am very mobile and can easily climb stairs. I can't go on long hikes but normal length walks are perfect for me.  I am a very loving and affectionate girl who has a real love of life. I enjoy the company of other dogs, once I trust them. I currently live happily with several dogs of all sizes. It can take a few visits for me to feel safe with other dogs for me to let my guard down with other dogs. Given this, it could potentially be difficult for a prospective adopter to take the necessary time I require to become familiar with their dog-- so a home without another dog is best for me. I am happy being the only dog in the home as my true love is people. I have the cutest habit of splaying my front legs out wide when I want you to play with me. And if you pet me and stop and I want some more, I will wrap my front legs around yours to "trap" you and keep you with me. Adorable, right?! I am a really easy dog to care for, and to love. I very much enjoy being outside, so a fenced yard is important to me. In fact, I don't even need or want to go on walks. Because of my missing rear leg, I often find walking too strenuous and much prefer hanging out with my person inside the home or outside in the yard. A covered deck for me to hang out on, watching birds and squirrels, is essential for me. While I am a joyful soul, I am not at all hyper or high energy. At home I am very calm and relaxed. Layin on my bed chewing on a marrow bone or a chew stick is one of my favourite pasttimes! There is no way you could be unhappy with me around.  I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $600 plus applicable taxes* Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##951485##

Story
Good day!  My name is Marlin (aka Martin) and I'd love to tell you a bit about me!  I'm an older guy (born in May 2007), a mix of german shepherd/canaan breeds, and I've never lived in a proper stable home environment.  I'm quite an energetic dog and my favourite place to be at the shelter is outdoors.  I can be somewhat selective with the dog friends I make, and while I can play nicely with them, I think I'd prefer to be the only resident dog in my forever home.  I need a fair amount of exercise, so will be most pleased with a very active family. As you can see, I am a very smiley, happy boy.  https://youtu.be/Ua0EzZr-qNcAfter being confiscated from a neglectful home, I went to a local shelter when I was around 1 year old. I have been at the shelter since then and it is about time I find a home!  Having never received consistent, dedicated training from humans, I need a fairly experienced handler/owner who knows about & has experience with training. Since I have never lived in a home before, having a yard would be good, so I can acclimate to living inside better, by having plenty of outdoor time, where I feel most comfortable right now. I hope you are willing to give me time to understand a house is a great place to be.I have had basic training: leash walking with a halti, heel, sit, down, bed/place, in addition to exposure to other dogs. Continued training and review of what I know would be good. I'm a smart pupper, so could learn tricks too https://youtu.be/Lr8EJ2Zkc1I. Here I am calm at the vet's office: https://youtu.be/udM_Cc-MOgk. Energy Level: high Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: yes, basic training commands and leash walkingLeash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: No, as I live in a shelter environ. Please be prepared to help me learn! My adoption fee is $700.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. THIS IS A COURTESY POST. PLEASE CONTACT THE PERSON OR GROUP LISTED BELOW IN THE POSTING TO INQUIRE ABOUT THE DOG. Please send us a private message or an email if you have serious inquiries and not in comments. Email: woofywishes@gmail.com TORBO (TRIPOD) was rescued from the Middle East and now he is in Vancouver BC and he's looking for his forever home. It is ideal for Torbo to go to a home where he can have a doggie sibling.Torbo - Shepherd mix - 19 kg - 1.5 yr old - Male - Neutered - Good with dogs - Not cat tested, but he will be ok with proper intro - Good with people of all ages - Crate trained - House trained - Playful & loving - Barks to give warning - Not a flight risk - No aggression - Good on leash - Healthy - He was found with a severed leg when he was a puppy on the street, likely for witchcraft purposes.Torbo is the sweetest friendliest and happiest dog ever. His tail is ALWAYS wagging. He is such a people lover! Going on walks he wants everyone to pet him, and he goes up to everyone to say hi on walks, he gets offended if people don’t want to pet him. He loves attention and human kisses. Turbo is also a super well-balanced dog - he can be super playful and also be super chill and calm. He doesn’t bark much, does not have a huge prey drive, able to stay alone for a bit in a crate with a chew toy. He is perfectly potty trained, not a single accident in the house. He sleeps the whole night in his crate with no waking up. He has medium energy and his 3 legs can tire after a walk, so he isn’t exactly the ideal rough terrain hiking buddy.
