You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Chance a long‑legged sweetheart with an even bigger heart.  If you’re looking for a puppy who’s equal parts adorable, playful, and irresistibly loving, Chance is your guy. With his lanky legs, soft eyes, and goofy grin, he’s the kind of pup who turns heads everywhere he goes. Chance’s DNA came back 50% Doberman Pincher and a mix of three other breeds. See DNA results in photo images below. One thing we do know without a doubt is that he’s 100% charm. Chance has been raised in a lively, kid‑filled home with multiple dogs, constant activity, and endless love. Because of that, he’s wonderfully social, confident, and used to the joyful chaos of family life. He adores children of all ages, plays beautifully with other dogs, and thrives in an environment where there’s always something fun happening. In addition Chance attends doggy daycare. This sweet boy is already house trained and crate trained.......a huge bonus for such a young pup. He has a moderate to high energy level, meaning he’s always ready for fetch, zoomies, and adventures, but once he’s gotten his wiggles out, he melts right into your lap for snuggles.  He’s working on his basic commands and is eager to learn, especially with someone who can guide him as he grows. Chance would flourish with a family who has the time, patience, and affection to continue raising a young, active puppy. He’ll do best with someone who’s home often enough to give him the structure, attention, and love he craves. If you want a happy, affectionate, intelligent puppy who will bring laughter, joy, and heart‑melting cuteness into your home every single day, Chance might just be the perfect addition to your family. Story
Alice became a member of our family when she was only 8 weeks old. She has been a phenomenal pet, who has gotten along with both of her older dog siblings, and now a 2 and 3 year old human sibling! She is definitely one of those dogs who doesn’t realize how big she is, because at 75 pounds she still thinks she is a lap dog! She can be a bit clumsy at times, stepping on our feet as she walks by, but has never exhibited an ounce of aggression toward our family. Our toddlers have hand fed her, and shared toys with her, without a single incident. She does bark when someone is at the door, but not incessantly, and responds to being told “that’s enough” very well. My wife prefers the mild barking as it makes her and the kids feel safer when they are home alone. Alice is an active dog, and will do best in a home that can take her on walks twice a day. It breaks our heart to give her up, but we look forward to her continued happiness is a new home!

Story
Meet Alara, a bright eyed, black and tan, female Doberman with natural ears and a docked tail. She is approximately one year old and weighs 55 pounds. Alara is a lover and adores having her ears and shoulders massaged. She loves resting her head in your hand or on your leg. Alara entered foster care with DAR&E in early February. She knows “sit” and has been working on crate training and the cues “wait/release”, “laydown”, and “leave it”. She’s very treat motivated, and has been doing great with training. Alara loves her crate, thinking of it as a big treat dispenser, and often going in by herself to take a nap. Currently she’s been practicing with shorter periods of time in her crate. It will be a while longer before she can be left for hours every day. Around the house she’s fairly independent in playing with toys and trotting around. Outside, she adores walks and walking around the yard. Overall she doesn’t seem to mind the chilly temperatures and navigates walking on the snow/icy spots well. As a young pup, daily exercise is very important. She's a bit nervous at the vet and around new things, showing her nervousness with barking. She responds well and is able to reset and settle in a short amount of time. Alara will require an adopter with prior Doberman or working dog experience, and someone, providing structure in her life and exposing her to things little by little. She will also need someone who has experience with younger dogs, providing appropriate chews and toys and understanding puppyish behavior. In Alara’s first several days, she reacted to new noises by barking. She’d bark when the heating unit came on or the refrigerator came on and would also bark at external noises. We started calmly saying the word “noisy” and have seen a huge difference in Alara’s composure, and also her ability to bark a little and then settle. Both when she’s relaxed and after she’s been a bit worked up we’ve been saying “you’re fine”. This has really been helping with her being more relaxed, her ability to fairly quickly calm after getting worked up, and her need for human connection. She will need an adopter’s continuing help with desensitization and also gradually and slowly seeing a dog at a distance and determining her level of comfort. Alara is a sweet, loving girl who hasn’t had the best start in life. She will thrive with a kind, patient person. Alara is being fostered in Maryland and would love to meet you! DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

Story
Meet Lincoln, a big (approximately 85 pounds), lovable Doberman puppy with a personality and a heart that’s just as big as he is! He's an 11-month-old blue male Doberman with cropped ears and a docked tail. Due to his age, Lincoln requires a fully-fenced yard. Lincoln is a sweetheart who enjoys attention and companionship, but he’s also happy to entertain himself with toys or a good bone when you’re busy. He loves being outside, and one of his favorite activities is chasing the Jolly Ball around the yard. Like most young Dobermans, Lincoln has energy and curiosity, and he’ll thrive with a family that enjoys being active and including their dog in daily life. Lincoln is house-trained and crate-trained. When it’s time to relax, Lincoln settles nicely in his crate when unsupervised. He is learning the routine of home life. He sleeps through the night in his crate. Lincoln walks nicely on leash with an Easy Walk harness and already knows “sit,” “paw,” and “crate.” He’s learning not to hop up when greeting new people, and is enrolled in training with his foster. He barks excitedly at other dogs on leash. He is attending doggy daycare and enjoys socializing with other dogs off leash in a controlled environment. Because he’s still a young Doberman, Lincoln will do best with a family that will provide regular mental and physical exercise and continue building on his training. Lincoln is a friendly, young Doberman who is ready to grow up with a family that will give him structure, activity, and plenty of love. In return, he’ll give you loyal companionship and probably plenty of enthusiastic Jolly Ball games. Lincoln is fostered in Virginia. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.

Story
Meet Sebastian, an 8 month old, all natural, red, male Doberman. Sebastian is a sweet, playful puppy who loves people and does great with other dogs. He hasn’t been around cats yet, so we’re unsure how he’d do with them. He’s a cuddler at heart and happy to chew a Nylabone beside you or curl up in a little donut next to you on the couch. He walks nicely on a leash and is doing well with his house-training routine. With consistency, he goes outside on schedule after meals and continues to make great progress. Sebastian is gentle, responsive, and eager to please. He has good recall with “come,” knows “sit” and “paw,” and is currently learning “down” and “leave it.” He’s at the perfect age for continued socialization and building lifelong positive habits. He would thrive in a loving home ready to continue guiding him into the amazing dog he’s already becoming. Sebastian is fostered in Maryland. DAR&E adopts to MD, VA, DC, DE, eastern parts of WV and southern parts of PA. Please check with other Doberman rescues in areas not listed.
