Story
Make sure to let us know you saw Peanut on Adopt-a-pet. Big. Beautiful. Brown-eyed Baby. That is our 7 month old Peanut and she is growing up fast. She is smart, eager to learn and to please, and loves lots of hugs and snuggles. She picked up sit and shake almost immediately. During her walks it's as if everything out there is completely new and worthy of sniffing and exploring. But she's learning to settle down and responds to some commands to keep on track. She is house-trained and crate-trained. She is remarkably calm in the house for her age, takes good naps, and enjoys a good chew bone and some toys. She gets along well with our other dog and is learning to share our attention. Her spay is coming up on October 30. It would be amazing for her to be able to settle in and complete her learning with her forever family. Please call first before meeting me, I decided to relax with a foster mom and another dog.

Story
Indy quickly becomes everyone’s favorite Dobie due to his agreeable nature and persistence to live life to its fullest. He spends time lounging on his orthopedic dog bed between meals, barking if breakfast is late -then barks to announce its time to check the yard and stretch our legs. Happy to sunbath and monitor the other dogs, a peacemaker - he will bark to tattle on the dogs not playing nice. He has some white hairs and scars around his face, skin tags and one unruly ear crop - he is neutered, Heartworm treated and on prevention. Required treatment for skin and respiratory infections at intake. His blue coat is still growing back. He showed signs of neglect and had been abandoned as just a skeleton of a dog. Given a clean bill of health - he is adoptable (approximately 6 years old) Optional Transport meet-up Locations include Ohio, Chicago area, Kalamazoo, Battlecreek, Portage, Jackson and Ann Arbor.

Story
As innocent as a Shirley Temple As sweet as a Twizzler As playful as a Jelly Belly As popular as a Maraschino Cherry Cherry is a young natural Doberman who would benefit from a patient family who will help her work through shyness and insecurities. She came to our rescue from a southern shelter in Texas, heartworm treated and spayed. Cherry was nervous to be an inside dog at first, whines to go outside and barks at dogs who frighten her. She participates in playgroups and does well after a slow intro to bossy or assertive dogs. Cherry does not like fireworks or gunshots (she will run and hide, for days). Doberman experience is helpful but Cherry is not protective/guarding - just insecure of 'new' Watch Cherry with Princess Charlotte (4 yr old alpha female, also adoptable) https://youtu.be/d-wq-ibyYbw?si=ZNKMbiO2rw30s1vP

Story
Carter is one special character - he is a red Doberman with a docked tail, floppy ears and medium build (healthy weight 60-65 lbs). Carter loves playing; rough housing, tossing toys, running and bouncing around. His 'special' character is his complete lack of maturity. Poorly socialized, but we also suspect, Carter was dropped on his head as a puppy or maybe fetal alcohol syndrome, his goofy face shows some developmental signs (eyes are too far apart) but otherwise, he's just HAPPY and DUMB. He is dog friendly, will let other males dominate him or push him down. He can be nippy due to his constant state of puppy - not mean, other dogs correct him. His foster has been working on his nippy, teethy grab for treats and awareness of hands. He needs a yard to run and downtime inside in a kennel with his stuffies at naptime. Due to Carter's low IQ - we recommend a home with older teens so no one gets mad that he takes fingers with treats when overstimulated. Training will take time, repeat and focus - maybe even a few beers for his humans. Carter SMILES the entire time and is happy to be in training, but retains little. Dobermans are known for their incredible ability to learn and observe to teach themselves. Carter identifies as a Lizard some days, other days as a Chicken. We have tried to explain to him, his amazing breed and the expectations. We want him to be LOVED for his goofiness. Favorite Color: HOT PINK Favorite Toy: Stuffed Bear Favorite Food: Meatballs by Milo's Kitchen HIS-STORY: This dude was kicked out of his home for being 'too puppy' - the shelter called rescue and it was noted, Carter did not know how to walk on a leash, was not house trained or used to any commands. He was in 'play' mode all the time and happy to have dog friends. Crate trained to force some routine and sanity at his foster home, Carter has matured (slightly) and has (some) manners. Now neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm treated (he tested positive at intake). FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email to Apply! Story
Ceylon has been napping on a couch, playing tag and singing along to Christmas music since recovering from her past life of neglect. She has a healed bone fracture in her rear leg which looks funny but doesn't bother her, she balances on the leg and runs in full speed. Video: https://youtube.com/shorts/QLC72jVA4z0?si=r-3vv7g4d5_xwn5v Christmas Facebook Reel: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1744827043025145 Ceylon has made a full recovery and is a gentle, affectionate dog who would love her own family and other dogs. Favorite Color: Teal Favorite Toy: Rubber Pig Favorite Food: Cinnamon Rolls HER-STORY: Ceylon was seen laying in a yard during the hurricane winds/rain, clearly injured and very skinny. Animal Control called rescue and begged for medical help. The area she was found was rural and the animals did not have access to medical care once taken to the impound. We got her and immediately administered IV fluids and wrapped her to help warm her body slowly. She started to eat and calmed when cuddled. We knew she would pull through if able to be close to people. Her coat was bare in places and various scars around her body. Due to her injuries, she was not confined to a crate during recovery but given a room at the foster home, she created a habit of dragging herself to a corner to use the bathroom since going outside was too hard. She lacked muscle tone for weeks, unable to walk, she crawled and pushed herself to food and to be close to other dogs. Regular meals and her own style of rehab (following other dogs), she was found napping on the couch and quickly joined the pack running outside. Ceylon has made a full recovery and is a gentle, affectionate dog who would love her own family and other dogs. Based on the scars, the Vet aged her at 4 years old but -she is full of energy, playful and has gorgeous white teeth. Now spayed, up to date on vaccines and heartworm treated (she tested positive at intake). FOSTERED IN TEXAS. *Adoption Fee includes transport to PNW, Midwest or NY-NJ-CT-VA-VT states by pet transport partners. Email to Apply! Story
Chandler loves, LOVES chasing balls and chewing ropes. He is very vocal, whining and barking when he wants attention or needs to go outside/wants to go run the yard. He was kenneled at the shelter for months, so he is reluctant to crate at his foster home for long periods of time but is sleeping overnight in a crate for practice. He is an anxious chewer and blanket sucker when inside/crated. He prefers to sleep on a dog bed, couch or the floor. Chandler is being trained with boundaries (baby gates) and does not push open doors or push past people. He knows sit and is easy to walk on a leash. He barks at people and things at a distance but does not show aggression. HIS-tory: Chandler lived with a young family in an apartment (purchased from a breeder) until he was 'too big' and surrendered to a shelter. He was poorly socialized and was not used to strangers and never had dog friends. He was significantly underweight at 54 lbs and barked at strangers. The shelter staff knew the best way to find the 'right' family for their 'Silly Goose' would be through Rescue. Chandler Goose weighed in at 70 lbs during his rescue intake and was still noticeably underweight with poor muscle tone. He is tall and at 2 years old, will not get any taller - which is fine since he is above the breed standard of a Doberman and fitting in the category of a Warlock or King size bred Doberman. He is continuing to gain weight/muscle and last weighed 78 lbs. He could be a 95 lb dog. Vaccinated, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, microchipped, neutered. He will need a family accepting of his initial anxiety - he barks at new things and people (which is unnerving since he's huge) but will give kisses by the 2nd date or meeting, give 48 hours in a new home before he understands. He is working on house training and socializing. He functions with a puppy brain but is very trainable and eager to please. He has been slow introduced to other dogs and thriving in group play. He does well with other big dogs males and females; he wants to play and smell, following the lead of other dogs. He would like dog friends and a yard to play.
