Story
Petty, aka "Max" is a lovable young senior dog looking for a retired or work-at-home human/family to share the rest of his life with. He has been three-legged since aged two, has learned to adapt all his daily activities, and travels very well. After 3 months in foster care, Max has learned to play with other dogs! He still has limitations, but he loves to roll on the ground to gently wrestle with his foster siblings. Daily walking has given him additional strength in his legs. He can climb and run with the best of them. He can still slip if not careful, and he is not a fan of very cold weather. He has to be coaxed out the door or just walked on leash in sleet or cold rain. Temperatures above 50 will get him outdoors in any kind of weather. Max is such a social guy that he prefers to be with his humans or dogs rather than alone. He does not chew on anything but food, and is highly food motivated. He is also very human oriented, but followed the lead of his foster brother when he learned new house rules. He walks extremely well, but pulls on occasion when squirrels or rabbits are nearby. He walks fine with a Gentle Leader, but his gait is hopped, so his owner needs to be someone with good balance. He loves to be outdoors and walk on leash. A medium-sized fenced yard would be an additional bonus for this dog as he is an active and young senior.Having said that, Max would also be a wonderful companion dog and fellow couch potato at night. He seems to be much more Chocolate Lab than Red Doberman, with a strong lab lean, and would love to lie on the couch next to a human. He does not sit on laps, but would love to be on the bed sleeping next to his human. I would not expect him to break that habit easily (although he is trying). Max will also counter-surf if he can get away with it. Having lost his last owner, Max does have some minor anxiety issues over separation, and does not enjoy being crated. He is not destructive, though, and tolerates being confined to a room with music and his foster brother when the humans are gone from the house. He has no toileting issues doing his business outside, and sleeps very well at night. He knows many commands, and will give a bark when someone approaches the house or yard. He infrequently can give off an aura which can intimidate some less secure dogs, but really he is a loving goofball, and has done very well with dogs, kids and toddlers at the local Farmers' Market and adoption events. He loves meeting people! Max would love to have a stable home with an active adult/family to spend his senior years. He is very healthy, loves being groomed, and getting attention, affection, and slow but steady exercise. FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Adult Dogs are Heartworm Tested and Treated as Needed. FOCCAS does not DNA test or guarantee breed. Petty's adoption fee is $275. Story
And along comes Mary, the sweetest Doberman girl you will ever meet.   This girl is barely one year old and weighs no more than 45 pounds with a little more healthy weight to add to her previously starved body.   Coming to Critter Cavalry Rescue as a stray that was taken to a Tennessee shelter, she stood out with her sweet eyes that just begged you to love her.  She has no problems with other dogs big or small, but she does like to chase the cats and they are stressed about this.  We are changing her current home to one with no cats and waiting for a family who will nurture her body and soul.  She is crate trained, housebroken and has a beautiful spirit that wants to please and love you.  Mary the Doberman is ALL LOVE for her humans and will be a 55 girl when at her optimum weight in the next few months.    She has no character flaws and is a bright and loving girl that will curl up with you to watch the world go by and to make your life sweeter.  We are looking for a fenced yard in her new home.  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested and can provide the best home possible for the best girl that deserves a richer life        PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comJanuary 12, 2026, 9:57 am

Story
Meet Daisy Ann Marie 🌼 7 months old, and approximately 97% cuddles, 3% pure silliness. Daisy is a tiny little love nugget with long legs, soft wrinkles, and the cutest smile you’ve ever seen on a puppy. She’s a stunning black-and-reddish girl (maybe Doberman/Shepherd, maybe just ✨perfect✨) with a magical little sliver of blue in one eye that makes everyone stop mid-sentence and go, “WAIT… her EYE 😍.” Her face has all these adorable squishy wrinkles, and when she smiles? Game over. See her Puppy love firsthand in her video! https://youtu.be/b9QKiUvUCzQ?si=l9psXAo9c-xoqbnF This girl does not just like affection, she fully commits to it. Daisy will walk right up to you and melt her whole body into yours like she’s trying to become one with your soul. She gives the gentlest baby kisses, snuggles like a professional, and believes personal space is a myth. If you sit down, congratulations, you now have a Daisy. Daisy is still a baby and can be a little unsure at first, mostly because she’s very attached to her people. Once she realizes you’re safe, though, her goofy side comes out fast. Expect wiggles, happy hops, clumsy puppy play bows, and that classic “I don’t know what I’m doing but I’m having fun” energy. With other dogs, Daisy is a certified sweet potato. She’s very submissive, friendly, and wants everyone to be her friend. She tries to play with just about anyone and does best with other playful-but-gentle dogs who invite her into the fun without overwhelming her. She doesn’t need another dog, but having a doggy bestie would make her heart very happy and help her confidence grow. And yes! Daisy lives with cats! She thinks they’re fascinating little creatures and greets them with full-body wiggles. She does best with cats who don’t mess with her too much (no curtain-jumping jump scares, please), and if a cat is chill, Daisy is chill right back. On leash, Daisy is an absolute dream. She doesn’t pull at all, making her a perfect walking buddy for anyone who appreciates a calm stroll. She even does this adorable little flip move when she’s on the leash — it’s impossible not to smile! Daisy rides wonderfully in the car (front seat or back!) and is crate trained, sleeping through the night like a champ. She might whine a bit if she has FOMO, but that’s just because she loves being close to her people and friends. She’s also in the process of potty training and learning fast thanks to her eager-to-please attitude. Inside the home, Daisy is surprisingly calm once she settles. She’s kennel trained, potty trained, and loves cozy naps after playtime. She may attempt a little snack theft if a food bowl is left unattended (puppy logic), but honestly, can you blame her? Daisy would do great in an apartment or a house, as long as she gets her daily walks, chances to zoom around, and time to be a puppy. She loves to run, play, sniff, then immediately come inside and collapse into a cuddle puddle. If you’re looking for a goofy, snuggly, gentle puppy who will stick to you like Velcro, steal your heart, and possibly your spot on the couch, Daisy Ann Marie is ready to wiggle her way into your life 🌼 Ready to welcome a new furry friend into your life?
