Story
~ I can live in a single family home.~ I have not had much experience living with children but am willing to consider sharing my home with sturdy kids 12 years of age and older who are familiar with XL dogs.~ I am willing to share my home with a feline.~ I am willing to share my home with a similar sized canine of a likeminded playstyle. I like to wrestle, be mouthy and rambunctious with other dogs.~ I have my moments of energy and need to get some exercise every day.~ My behavior is very typical for my breed. I would prefer to live with someone who has Doberman experience.

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/17/24 Millie needs somewhere to go IMMEDIATELY. Currently located in PA. Available to foster or adopt. Millie originally can't into rescue a little over a year ago, after a domestic violence situation left her homeless. Her home included a baby and a couple of very young kids which she loved dearly. We specifically wanted a home with kids for her at that time. She was adopted 9-10 months ago, to a family with a 14 yr old son. We were under the impression that everything was going great, until today. We don't know the circumstances, but Millie bit the 14 yr old. It was a very minor bite. No medical attention was needed. But now the son is scared of her and threatening to go live with the other parent if Millie stays in the home. Her adopter says that she has always been tense around the son. We do know that she is more comfortable around women, and she may suffered some abuse from the 'dad' in her original home. Millie is very cuddly and affectionate. She is excellent with other dogs and cats. Please help us keep her out of the shelter. She needs a home, or a foster home, right away. Due to this incident, we would like to see her go to a home with out children. But may be open to a meet n greet with a family that includes, to see how she responds to them. It seems that she likes young kids, and i would assume that if she meets the kids while young, she will be fine with them as they grow into big kids. This will just need to be determined on a case by case basis. Millie has been through a lot in her 4 years of life. She needs an understanding family who will accept her and pay attention to any cues she may give when she's uncomfortable. She is located in PA but we may be able to find a volunteer transport to help her get to other locations. Please share. She is very urgent. email apps.aasr@gmail.com for more info. Story
Willow is a sweet and gentle almost 7-month-old Doberman mix, currently weighing in at 34 pounds. She came into the rescue a bit timid, but she’s warming up beautifully in her foster home and showing her tender personality each day.Willow is completely house trained and crate trained; she happily spends time in her crate when her people are away and sleeps soundly in it through the night. This lovely girl gets along well with everyone – she’s fantastic with other dogs, gentle with cats, and wonderful around kids.Willow is still building her confidence, but she’s making steady progress. With a bit of patience and love, she’s sure to blossom into an incredible, loyal companion. She’s ready to find her forever family who will keep nurturing her bravery and love her for her sweet soul.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.December 15, 2024, 6:04 am
