Story
Hi, my name is Fury! But I'm more like a happy, gentle breeze that wants to have fun! You might recognize my name from the famous character Director Nick Fury of the Marvel movies, I'm kinda like him: I love being the center of attention and don't like it when people take my stuff! I am a big dog! With my mixed Doberman Pinscher/Black Labrador genes I am a whopping 52#/lbs and have a ton of energy and muscle that needs to be worked! Because of this it would be best if I was paired with an active family who knows how to keep a dog mentally stimulated and respects my boundaries well. No apartment living for me please! No cats or small children either! My caretakers have learned some important things about me: I am a chow-hound and will try to eat anything I can get my hands on! So please leave food out of reach from me or I'll swoop it all up. Secondly, I would prefer if people didn't grab things that I have in my mouth, it's mine not yours hehe! Overall, I am a big-hearted dog who wants to go play, be adventurous, have fun with other people and dogs! I am however not such a big fan of car rides, they make my tummy feel sick eww! I love all people and dogs, am a healthy, happy boy and just want to find my home. Let's work together and find it!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Danbury, Glastonbury, or Lisbon CT. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue

Story
Allow me to reintroduce myself! My name is Archie- when I was with ASTDR before my name was Jarvis. So if my face looks a little familiar, that’s because this is my second round of looking for a forever home. I was adopted as a puppy and they decided to not do the work to make me a part of their family and return me instead, it wasn’t my fault but my foster mama says that next time, the people who adopt me will love me forever. So, I hope that’s you. A little about me is I’m just a year old! I’m a medium sized mixed breed pup. I REALLY love other dogs and can come at them with a lot of energy so I need a family that is willing to slowly integrate me with other dogs if there’s pup friends in the house. I like all humans- big and small! Men can be a little scary to me at first but I warm up really quickly with a good snack. It’s the way to my heart! If you have little humans in the house and want to bring me home, they should be stable on their feet cause all it takes is one booty bump and they take a tumble. Kitties… well. I think they are really cute… when they are running from me chasing them. So I shouldn’t live with them. Wanna know what else is cool about me? ASTDR is so invested in making sure I am successful in my second home that I’ve been hanging out with a trainer to teach me all the things that I should have been taught as a young fellow! That’s right! I’ve got all my basic obedience down, am crate trained and house broken! The real deal, whole package.. etc etc! I would love an active family that will take me on lots of hikes, play in the yard, and keep my body and mind busy. I am really “people’s dog” and love to be around humans. If I’m not under your feet, I’m on them, so I’d love a family that is willing to spend lots of time with me and will love me as much as I love them. Second time is a charm, I hope ! If you wanna bring me home you’ll need to fill out an application! Astdogrescue.com ##1727669##

Story
Meet Quetzal, a stunning 4-month-old Doberman puppy with a heart full of love and a bright future ahead of her! This playful pup is as sweet as they come and ready to make every day a little brighter for her future family. Quetzal didn't get much socialization early on, but her natural confidence and friendliness shine through. She's outgoing, curious, and eager to explore the world. Since she's still young and has no history with other dogs or kids, her adopter will need to commit to guiding her with training and socialization. This is a crucial time for her development, and with the right support, she'll grow into a well-rounded, amazing dog. As a Doberman, Quetzal is expected to be a large dog when fully grown. She'll thrive with an adopter who can give her plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and love. If you're ready to invest in her training and set her up for success, Quetzal is ready to invest her whole heart in you! If you're ready to adopt now and want to learn more about, meet, or adopt this pet, you can start the process in one of two ways: Come on in during open adoption hours Tuesday - Saturday 12:30-3:00! For in-shelter pets (not in foster care) coming in ASAP is the fastest way to adopt. **the below two methods are slower than visiting us** Call us (413-781-4000 x 1) or email us (springfield@dakinhumane.org) for more information about a pet. We are often on the line with another client, but we return voice mail and emails within 24 hours. Story
Tenoch is a 4-month-old Doberman pup with a heart full of sweetness and energy to spare. This playful boy is ready to bring joy and puppy antics to his new family. Because Tenoch didn't get much socialization early on, he can be a little nervous in new situations, but he's still young and eager to learn. Tenoch has no known history with other dogs or kids, so his adopter should be prepared to guide him through positive experiences with both. He's going to grow into a large dog, so early training and socialization are crucial to help him develop into a confident and well-mannered adult. If you're ready to invest the time and care Tenoch needs to thrive, he'll reward you with a lifetime of loyalty and love. Could you be the one to give this sweet pup the start he deserves? Story
Baby Girl is about 3 months old and ready for a home to call her very own. This beauty will be a fun addition to any loving home. Baby Girl Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $600 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

My stepdaughter got Rocky and was going to take him with her. However, she later decided she was not going to have time to take care of Rocky and left him with me. I already have a dog and a cat and can’t take care of another dog. Rocky is a 2 year old miniature pinscher that weights 20 lbs. I believe he might be mixed with Manchester terrier but his paper work only says miniature pinscher. Rocky is very sweet and energetic. He has gotten along great with both my dog and cat. He loves to be walked. Rocky will bark when he needs to go outside to do his business.
