Story
Allow me to reintroduce myself! My name is Archie- when I was with ASTDR before my name was Jarvis. So if my face looks a little familiar, that’s because this is my second round of looking for a forever home. I was adopted as a puppy and they decided to not do the work to make me a part of their family and return me instead, it wasn’t my fault but my foster mama says that next time, the people who adopt me will love me forever. So, I hope that’s you. A little about me is I’m just a year old! I’m a medium sized mixed breed pup. I REALLY love other dogs and can come at them with a lot of energy so I need a family that is willing to slowly integrate me with other dogs if there’s pup friends in the house. I like all humans- big and small! Men can be a little scary to me at first but I warm up really quickly with a good snack. It’s the way to my heart! If you have little humans in the house and want to bring me home, they should be stable on their feet cause all it takes is one booty bump and they take a tumble. Kitties… well. I think they are really cute… when they are running from me chasing them. So I shouldn’t live with them. Wanna know what else is cool about me? ASTDR is so invested in making sure I am successful in my second home that I’ve been hanging out with a trainer to teach me all the things that I should have been taught as a young fellow! That’s right! I’ve got all my basic obedience down, am crate trained and house broken! The real deal, whole package.. etc etc! I would love an active family that will take me on lots of hikes, play in the yard, and keep my body and mind busy. I am really “people’s dog” and love to be around humans. If I’m not under your feet, I’m on them, so I’d love a family that is willing to spend lots of time with me and will love me as much as I love them. Second time is a charm, I hope ! If you wanna bring me home you’ll need to fill out an application! Astdogrescue.com ##1727669##

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Juniper is a joyful and playful one-year-old Doberman who weighs 50 pounds, with a bright mind and a heart full of love. She’s ready to find her forever home with someone who can guide her as she grows and thrives. She settles well into her crate after play or training, enjoying a chew or enrichment toy. She likes having a crate cover but tends to pull blankets into her kennel, so they’re best avoided. She may chew bedding if bored, so keeping her mentally stimulated is key. Juniper is reliably potty trained with no accidents in her foster home! She rides well in a car kennel and is generally calm, although she may get a bit antsy in the backseat. A kennel ensures a comfortable ride for her. Juniper pulls on the leash but is quick to respond to corrections. She’s highly food-motivated, which makes her a joy to train. She’ll thrive with continued leash training to refine her skills. Juniper LOVES to play with other dogs! She has a classic, bouncy, and mouthy play style, so she’d be happiest with a dog who enjoys rough-and-tumble play. She’s social and energetic and loves having a playmate. She’s met a few cats and approaches them calmly. Juniper’s more focused on playing with dogs but can live harmoniously with cats in her home. Juniper has not been tested with young children but may not be ideal for homes with toddlers due to her exuberance. She’s still learning to manage her excitement and can be mouthy when overstimulated, especially during play. Juniper knows sit, down, and place, and she’s ready to learn more! Her intelligence and eagerness to please make her a fast learner, especially with food and toys as motivation. Juniper is an active, smart dog who loves to engage with her family. She enjoys both physical exercise and mental challenges, making her a fun companion for someone who loves to spend time training, playing, and adventuring. Juniper has done well in her crate for up to six hours, though she was on medication at the time. She’ll need gradual adjustments if her new home requires extended alone time. Juniper is a wonderful companion for someone who can provide her with consistent training and lots of love. She’s a bright, biddable dog who thrives in a structured environment and will repay you with affection and loyalty. She’ll do well in a home with another dog who enjoys playing or with a family who has the time to continue her training. As Juniper adjusts to her new environment, she can be reactive to other dogs while on leash. This is something that can be easily worked on with ongoing training. She can also get a little mouthy when excited, especially during playtime, but with the right redirection, she will learn to manage her excitement. If you’re looking for a smart, loving companion who’s ready to grow alongside you, Juniper is the perfect match. She’s waiting for her forever home—will it be yours? Story
Dior is a 4 year old Doberman Pinscher/Lab mix, who arrived as an owner surrender due to landlord issues. Dior is such a sweet boy, but is understandably stressed here at the shelter, barking to get your attention to take him out for walks. He loves his time outside of his kennel and engages in play with rope toys and fetch. Dior is nervous with new things but warms up with time. He is quite strong and weighs about 80 pounds, he recently presented guarding behaviors, so due to this we are recommending he go to a home with teens 16+ yrs old with experience of larger breeds and guarding. Dior already knows basic cues such as `sit, paw, both paws, stay, down.` And he is eager to learn more!
