Story
Baby Girl is about 3 months old and ready for a home to call her very own. This beauty will be a fun addition to any loving home. Baby Girl Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. The adoption fee is $550 if your adoption is prepaid prior to your pup's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on puppies that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get an automatically generated confirmation email. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Story
Allow me to reintroduce myself! My name is Archie- when I was with ASTDR before my name was Jarvis. So if my face looks a little familiar, that’s because this is my second round of looking for a forever home. I was adopted as a puppy and they decided to not do the work to make me a part of their family and return me instead, it wasn’t my fault but my foster mama says that next time, the people who adopt me will love me forever. So, I hope that’s you. A little about me is I’m just a year old! I’m a medium sized mixed breed pup. I REALLY love other dogs and can come at them with a lot of energy so I need a family that is willing to slowly integrate me with other dogs if there’s pup friends in the house. I like all humans- big and small! Men can be a little scary to me at first but I warm up really quickly with a good snack. It’s the way to my heart! If you have little humans in the house and want to bring me home, they should be stable on their feet cause all it takes is one booty bump and they take a tumble. Kitties… well. I think they are really cute… when they are running from me chasing them. So I shouldn’t live with them. Wanna know what else is cool about me? ASTDR is so invested in making sure I am successful in my second home that I’ve been hanging out with a trainer to teach me all the things that I should have been taught as a young fellow! That’s right! I’ve got all my basic obedience down, am crate trained and house broken! The real deal, whole package.. etc etc! I would love an active family that will take me on lots of hikes, play in the yard, and keep my body and mind busy. I am really “people’s dog” and love to be around humans. If I’m not under your feet, I’m on them, so I’d love a family that is willing to spend lots of time with me and will love me as much as I love them. Second time is a charm, I hope ! If you wanna bring me home you’ll need to fill out an application! Astdogrescue.com ##1727669##

Story
Dior is a 3 year old Doberman Pinscher/Lab mix, who arrived as an owner surrender due to landlord issues. Dior is such a sweet boy, but is understandably stressed here at the shelter, barking to get your attention to take him out for walks. He loves his time outside of his kennel and engages in play with rope toys and fetch. Dior is nervous with new things but warms up fairly quick. He is very strong and weighs about 80 pounds, he recently presented guarding behaviors, due to this we are recommending he go to a home with teens 16+ yrs old with experience of larger breeds and guarding. Dior already knows basic cues such as "sit, paw, both paws, stay, down." And he is eager to learn more! Story
Slate is a sweet but nervous 2-year-old Doberman looking for a patient and experienced home. He's playful, loves toys and food, and is motivated by both. Slate is still learning to trust, but he warms up with patience and treats. He's good on the leash, knows "sit," and shows no food guarding, though he's a competitive eater due to past malnourishment. Slate would do best in a home with older kids (16+) and an owner who can give him the time and space to build confidence. If you are interested in learning more contact our placement team at the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter:E: Adoption@hempsteadny.govE: Foster@hempsteadny.govE: Rescue@hempsteadny.govT. 516.785.5220#Adoptme #Adoption #adoptionistheoption #adoptable #cutepup #longislanddogparents #ifitaintpit #mixedbreed #petitepup #rescued #rescuedog #rescuedogsofinstagram #instadog #dogstagram #dogs #doggo #shelterdogs #shelterpups #takemehometoday #dogoftheday #dogsofnewyork #nycdogs #longislanddogs

Story
Rooster is located in TEXAS. There are not enough homes for all the unwanted dogs down there, so he is willing to relocate for a good, loving, forever home. This handsome boy was found as a stray running out in the country. He is approximately 7 months old and weighs 45 pounds. He will probably weigh in the 60-pound range when fully grown. We are not sure of his breed mixture but think he may have some lab and Doberman in him. Rooster has a great personality and disposition. He loves all of the other rescue dogs, big and small. He loves people and will lie at your feet whenever he can. He loves water and the garden fountain is his favorite spot to hang out and keep cool. Rooster is a very sweet and goofy puppy. He is pretty much house-trained and runs to go outside with his buddies. He will need some leash training and would probably do better with a harness. We have no idea of how he is with cats. Rooster loves to run and play with his dog friends and toys. He may not be suitable for a home with small children because he may knock them over when running and playing. Rooster needs a fully fenced-in and secure yard. He will be a great dog for hiking or going to the dog park. He is an active boy and will run around the yard with a toy in his mouth playing tag with his buddies. He likes to be the leader and have everyone chase him. Rooster would do well either as an only dog or with other dogs. Rooster is a healthy and happy boy. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, (DAPP, Bordatella, rabies, canine influenza), and microchipped. He is receiving monthly heartworm and flea/tick preventatives. Roosters' adoption fee includes the cost of ground transport by a reputable and trusted transport company to Danbury, Glastonbury, or Lisbon CT. Rooster resides with our friends at Shaggy Dog Rescue and cannot be transported until after he is adopted. Please email kathy@houstonshaggydogrescue.org if you are interested in adopting this good boy. You may also find them on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/houstonshaggydogrescue
