He is 100% house trained and loves to play with his toys and chew on bones. Pete likes to play with other dogs and would like to have a dog friend. Pete likes to snuggle with his humans too and will be very happy to sit with you whenever you are relaxing. He likes treats and going for walks and is working on his walking manners. He also does very well in the car and enjoys taking car rides. Pete is a low maintenance dog who would do best in a home with another dog.   If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Are you looking for a low maintenance snuggle bug to join your family? Oscar may fit the bill. Oscar is a 2 year old, 20 pounds neutered Basenji/Corgi mix. He is 100% house trained and loves car rides. Oscar likes going for walks and is working on his walking manners. He will most likely follow you from whatever area of your home you are in to the next and will be your seat buddy as soon as you sit. Oscar gets along with other dogs but would be just as happy as an only dog with human interaction.    If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application and a representative will get back to you shortly to answer any questions you may have. Story
Name: Honey Sex: Female Estimated Age: About 6 years old Best Guess for Breed: Corgi Mix Weight: About 25lbs Lives With: Dogs, cats, and people! She LOVES everyone. Housebroken? Honey is housebroken and crate trained. Story: Honey was rescued from North Carolina during Hurricane Helene. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Honey is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Honey is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Honey will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive! What my foster says: Honey is a sweetheart. She lives in a home with a cat and another, larger dog, and gets along perfectly with both of them. She has the cutest little hops while playing with her dog friend, and gently trots up to the cat and licks her forehead to say hello. Honey has been friendly with every other adult, child, and dog on walks. She is happy and comfortable walking through the city, even in busy areas, but she is quite vocal! She would do well in a home with or without kids or other animals. She would be just fine in a house or apartment, but does require a lot of exercise and stimulation daily. She enjoys car rides. Honey is an avid snuggler and loves nothing more than curling up in her person’s lap, or by their shoulder. She has adjusted well to having a new schedule and environment, and is amendable to learning training basics.  The fee to adopt Honey is $450. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Honey has been seen by a shelter vet and we are not aware of any health issues. If you think that Honey might be your perfect match, apply today!December 17, 2024, 9:05 pm

Story
Please contact Nancy Anderson (nancya@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet young girl ISO fresh start and love! NANDA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!! Name:  Nanda        Best Guess for Breed: Corgi and terrier mix Best Guess for Age:   8 months as of December 2024        SEX:   Female   Approximate Weight: 18 lbs as of December 2024; she is still growing!   Gets Along With:    Nanda does well with other dogs. We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested if you have them.   Currently Living at:   Puerto Rico shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area to get on a freedom flight up here!   Special adoption considerations:   Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think Nanda would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.    Nanda is Looking For:  Her forever home! This super cute stubby legged little girl was thrilled to be rescued from the streets of Puerto Rico. She's eager to get her very own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in parks to burn off that awesome young-dog energy, and to explore her new world! Trying all the toys to see which she likes best sounds good, as do quality kibble and a cushy dog bed.    But you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved and under her own roof. To know where she belongs, to be a cherished part of the family. In exchange, she offers all the affection she's stockpiling in the shelter and loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Is Nanda the one for your home? What My Foster Says About Me:   We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster.  Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
