Story
Nugget is a 22 pound solid ball of love and play!He comes from an abusive family who smacked the dog while surrendering him to the shelter. He takes a moment to build trust-kindness and love has already begun the healing for his heart here in foster care. Because he was hit he is guarded when you come at him from above with your hand-he needs a gentle and slowly loving approach and he is ready to play and play some more! His favorite game is fetch the ball and return. He LOVES toys and loved to “destuff” them!He does not like to be approached in the kennel by children-he will become frantic. I suspect he was tormented there. He does not like the kennel but we have been working on getting him comfortably secure there for nighttime rest. He is a great eater and not fussy. Nugget loves belly rubs and will turn over on his back for love all the time! He just wants to play and be loved. He would do best in a home with adults and older teenage children.Nugget was professionally behaviorally assessed and passed with flying colors!Russellrescuetn@gmail.com Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters. The application is the first step. Story
This 40 lb, 10 mo old half Corgi/pit (we think) makes this guy super cute, smart, & full of energy. He is a goofy boy that loves to lay as flat as possible on the ground. He likes to play with toys & run outside. Very loyal & has stayed around when unleashed. Crate trained, House trained, trained to recall, sit, & heel around distractions. Very attentive when leashed. Great with kids! May become territorial once he determines a space is his, which has turned into him reacting, but not attacking. NOTE: the person who took these dogs in didnt realize having three dogs in a small condo with 3 children would be a little cramped. Oak lived in a condo with his sister, Clover (also available for adoption), with children & another dog & received daily leash walks from April-Dec. Then, he & Clover were taken to my parents farm where they are indoor/outdoor dogs & have been around cats & other dogs & have maintained their crate training & positive attitude. Absolutely great dog with no issues!

Needs some leash training g but he is so smart it should not take long.George is one of 5 dogs surrendered by theowner to the local shelter. One of the 5 was a RR dog, so we took in the other 4.  George needs a foster or adopter to help him know love and learn to have fun.Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step. Story
Sharing Miss Lulu again in hopes that her forever family is close to finding her!Meet Lulu, the adorable 9 year old, 38 pound corgi mix pup with a heart of gold! This low-riding lady is potty trained, a pro at coexisting with other dogs, and a dream on a leash. She’s treat-motivated and loves a good snack, which is a great way to win her over. Lulu may take a little time to warm up, but once she does, you’ll have a loyal, loving companion for life. With a patient adopter willing to give her those first few days to settle in, she’ll blossom into the affectionate, quirky pup she’s meant to be. Ready to earn the love of this sweet and spunky little lady? Lulu is waiting!Sweet Lulu is still looking for her forever buddy! This girl really is such a sweetheart and once she decides you are her person, she is one of the most devoted dogs I have ever fostered. Lulu is happy to do anything you want, as long as she gets to be with you. She seems to enjoy walks, car rides and hanging out in the yard or napping on the couch. She is perfectly fine with the other two dogs she is being fostered with but truthfully she is really more interested in attention from people over playing with other dogs.Lulu is 9 yrs old, house trained and doesn’t need to be crated while foster mom is out of the house. Cats are unknown at this time but she does seem to like (respectful) children according to her previous foster family.Lulu- 9 years old, Owner surrender due to no fault of her own, House trained, Good car rider, Good with other dogs, Extremely food and treat motivated, Reserved at first but once she gets comfortable she really attaches to her person, Loves to sleep in her human’s bed with them Perfectly content to chill on the couch with you and/or get out and take a walk or hang in the backyardMerry Christmas from Lulu!! She’s made so much progress in the last two weeks and has really started showing off her spunky personality. Here are some facts about her: She is extremely treat motivated, and that’s been a great motivator and trust builder for her She likes to do puzzle toys and is a pro at solving them  She’s been working hard on getting used to collars, harnesses, and leashes and has been so brave while we practice with them. She currently does best with a martingale collar. I’d still recommend a fenced yard for her, if possible, but I think she’ll be a walking pro in no time She absolutely loves my 11 year old son, and they have a blast chasing each other around the house. She would do great with older kids who are dog savvy She is 100% potty trained and uses the bathroom as soon as she goes outside Still great at co-existing with other dogs Low energy gal who loves her napsPicked us Miss Lulu yesterday to foster She’s a shy, nervous gal, but you can tell that she badly wants to connect. She just needs to take it slow. Her crate is definitely a safe space for her, but she has explored the house and yard a bit. She isn’t a fan of leashes or collars yet, but I was able to get a harness on her this morning by being patient, so I think that will be a huge help! Seems to be a co-exister so far with my dogs and has no interest in playing just yet. She does her business outside pretty much immediately, but it can take her a minute to be convinced to venture out there. She also loves treats, so I feel like that food motivation will help with her trust! She’ll need an adopter who understands that she needs some patience, but I think she’ll be a great companion with just a bit of time and love.If you think Lulu is for you please apply online or email russellrescuetn@gmail.com if already approved Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step.
