Max is a 21 lb corgi mix from Ripley,TN. He came with a sweet little female named Biscuit and they seem to really like each other. Max is super sweet and gets along with other dogs in my home. He tested heartworm positive and is on doxycycline until time to treat with immiticide. His adoption fee includes heartworm treatment and is $300 After reading this pet's info, if you are still interested in adopting, please fill out the online adoption application found at realgooddogrescue.com The ideal home for this Real Good Dog will have a secure fenced yard. A solid history of excellent vet care for current or previous pets is required. Preference will be given to applicants who have specific breed experience and own their own home. Adopters are encouraged to initiate their 30 days free pet insurance as soon as they take possession of the pet. Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-Gus and Heidi are such a cute pair. The latest in designer breed. Young still with a lot of play and learning to do. Both are smart as whips and would make fantastic agility dogs.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters.The application is the first step. Volunteers process the applications and need time above their personal needs and full-time jobs to process the apps.Please have patience. We do not have any paid staff members. Our adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies, HW check, and microchip. Russell Rescue dogs are fostered in the Middle Tennessee area. We do not ship/transport our dogs, so the approved adopter must be willing to travel to Tennessee. This 40 lb, 10 month old half corgi, half pit makes this lady extremely smart and full of energy. She responds well to training and is very athletic. Very loyal and has stayed around when unleashed. Crate trained, House trained, trained to recall, sit, and heel around distractions. Very attentive when leashed. Great with kids! May become territorial once she determines a space is hers, which has turned into her reacting, but not attacking. NOTE: the person who took these dogs in didn't realize having three dogs in a small condo with 3 children would be a little cramped. Clover lived in a condo with her brother, Oak (also available for adoption), with children & another dog & received daily leash walks from April– December. Then, she & Oak were taken to my parents farm where they are indoor/outdoor dogs & have been around cats & other dogs & have maintained their crate training & positive attitude. Clover is a great, high energy girl with no behavioral issues!

This 40 lb, 10 mo old half Corgi/pit (we think) makes this guy super cute, smart, & full of energy. He is a goofy boy that loves to lay as flat as possible on the ground. He likes to play with toys & run outside. Very loyal & has stayed around when unleashed. Crate trained, House trained, trained to recall, sit, & heel around distractions. Very attentive when leashed. Great with kids! May become territorial once he determines a space is his, which has turned into him reacting, but not attacking. NOTE: the person who took these dogs in didnt realize having three dogs in a small condo with 3 children would be a little cramped. Oak lived in a condo with his sister, Clover (also available for adoption), with children & another dog & received daily leash walks from April-Dec. Then, he & Clover were taken to my parents farm where they are indoor/outdoor dogs & have been around cats & other dogs & have maintained their crate training & positive attitude. Absolutely great dog with no issues!

Nugget is a 22 pound solid ball of love and play!He comes from an abusive family who smacked the dog while surrendering him to the shelter. He takes a moment to build trust-kindness and love has already begun the healing for his heart here in foster care. Because he was hit he is guarded when you come at him from above with your hand-he needs a gentle and slowly loving approach and he is ready to play and play some more! His favorite game is fetch the ball and return. He LOVES toys and loved to “destuff” them!He does not like to be approached in the kennel by children-he will become frantic. I suspect he was tormented there. He does not like the kennel but we have been working on getting him comfortably secure there for nighttime rest. He is a great eater and not fussy. Nugget loves belly rubs and will turn over on his back for love all the time! He just wants to play and be loved.
