You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. OSCAR requires an application to Best Friend Pet Adoption.  Please submit our dog adoption application now if you are interested in meeting him. The application is at:    https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC   This lovely little cutie was pulled from a rural shelter by BFPA on what was to be his last day. Oscar is a playful and friendly (maybe 1 to 2-year-old) 30 lb corgi mix dog who is dog and cat-friendly. He currently lives in a hectic home with 4 other dogs a cat, pet chickens, and even pet pigs - nothing fazes Oscar!  If you are looking for a great all-around best friend or family dog who loves to walk, play, socialize, cuddle, and have belly rubs, Oscar could be your pup!  He enjoys attention, is enthusiastic about life, and has fun in short bursts (no pun intended).  He was possibly kept as an outside dog in his early life and spent a month in the shelter, so he's re-learning house manners and is already doing great! He sleeps quietly in a crate all night!  He is currently heartworm positive which is a common condition for stray dogs and dogs that are not cared for properly.  Oscar is not contagious. He is being treated with monthly medication.  His condition is not showing any outward symptoms and he is otherwise a healthy dog. BFPA will provide the ongoing monthly medication until he tests negative for heartworms.  So an adopter will not be responsible for any medical costs involved in treating this condition.   Please submit an application and be approved to meet Oscar soon!     Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants should live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants who live within an hours drive of Cary NC.
